I'm through after a hard fought win. Should hopefully win next week and the week after if I play it right.

Opponent next week rated 116k ;D.
Possible Round 3 opponent rated either 129k (beat 138k rated team) or a 124k rated team (who beat the 206 seed with a rating of 159k :o :o)

Here's hoping!!!

I couldn't believe it either Alex!!! I mean that's a MASSIVE upset. Think it got some attention over in their PC upset thread in their forum. My match counted as I beat a seed for my first win in the PC :D.

Some nice added experience also for my Seniors :).

BP is as good as in.

Might have 3 of Hello's Killer Bees into round 2 of the PC ;D ;D. Just signs of things to come and means the Franchise league is set back again :P.

Great work Valk. ;D

With the Franchise League, because we will have to wait, will we be able to get 4 more teams?

Post by: valkorum on December 20, 2010, 01:15:41 AM
I dont think he played his "A" team as he is ranked 313 in SOD and I creamed him.  He only rated 112k

Might be going for League instead....

Would be good if we could get an extra 4 teams to play but who's going to find them ML? ;).

Possible - I think my round 2 match is a game I can win, so with a bit of luck I can make it to round 3 and get some prize money.  I prob wont make it past round 3 as my most likely matchup is with a team ranked 182

Through to the 2nd round :D Versing the 83rd seed next week though ::) usually rates about 195k but only rated 166k in his 1st round match so hopefully he rests a lot of players again next week & i get lucky haha

I got smashed in the ratings but sadly only lost by 1 wicket  :'(

Bazinga     Lingo's X1

Thanks HP. He was ranked much higher than me so I put in my best 5 bowlers and hoped they would bowl them out on a sticky. I was surprised that I got so close

Nice 8).

Next opponent has 4 danger men, 3 Batsman (1 keeper) and a Medium bowler Bowler. His entire team is basically Batters with little Bowling resistance ::). Lets make it a Bowlers pitch now :P.

Should I go Sticky or Slow?
Title: Re: Pavilion Cup
Post by: Boomz on December 20, 2010, 12:53:15 PM
I'm playing away :( but should get a fair bit rom gate takings as his ground holds 14k & he's the 83rd seed... Will go down swinging thats for sure.

So....I have the number 80 in the world (The 56th Seed) in Round 2  :'( Decided to go with a slow pitch to try and limit his scoring

Personally I feel that sticky is a lot more unpredictable when it comes to results. If he is stronger in batting, it might be a good idea to go for sticky.

Sticky can work against you as well though. You are better on something like Uneven or Dry.
Title: Re: Pavilion Cup
Post by: Justin Bieber on December 20, 2010, 05:11:49 PM
His best bowlers is a Medium and a Fasty with some of his batsman bowling as well (with horrbile bowling). Might just go Slow to make it harder for him to score while Favouring my Mediums and Spinners (2 of each likely to play with Morgan).

Will have to see how they fair fitness wise during the week.

You would want crumbling then... But its best you check out the opposition you face bowlers to see what disadvantages him a bit.

Yeah if your opposition has 1 seamer then play a spinner's pitch, and vica versa.

I won my PC match but next week have nooooooo chance.

The guy I'm playing is Div1 and with respect to him I am raising the white flag now. My team will be full of fringe senior and youth and it will be over quickly, hoping to gain some experience and jag the odd good performance for my youth.
