Sam Fisher has been doing crap all.. Fletcher has to be in there
My certainties for the team so far are:
Hodge, Goddard, Ablett, Chapman, Sandilands, Pavlich and Judd.
I would think Michael Barlow has to pop in their somewhere. I haven't been studying it all year, but just to do it quickly, ill post my team below.
B: Malceski, Lake, Enright
HB: Goddard, Tarrant, Hodge
C: Bartel, Montagna, Barlow
HF: Chapman, Riewoldt, Pavlich
F: Thomas, Brown, Milne
Foll: Sandilands, Ablett, Judd

Brown!?
You guys have short memories! How good was Jonathan Brown in the first 5 or 6 weeks? I'll admit that if he doesn't come back well, he won't make the team - and will be replaced at full forward by either Franklin, Pods or Hall. But this was for the first half the year, not predicted!
Fletcher's been overrated this year Hilly, has had a lot of goals kicked against him, and keeps getting suspended.

Jack Riewoldt would have to be one of the front runners at the moment. To be ontop of the Coleman in the bottom side is a huge effort. He is my All-Australia full forward.
Yeah, I have Jackaroo in my team but at CHF. All about team balance I'm trying to find :)
40 people make the All-Aus short list.... 12 Defenders, 12 Forward, 16 midfield/ruck
So, my nominations? Several players unlucky to miss out (Enright, Milne) - and I've tried to base it on a number of stats - contested possession, 1%ers, tackles and such.

So if you disagree with any particular player, have a yell! And nominate a player to replace.
Mumford over Jolly by a fair margin... Jolly had a slow start to the year and Mumford has been in red hot form for the majority of the year...
Mumford v Jolly
Games: 17 v 17
Average Kicks: 3.8 v 6.5
Average Handballs: 9.2 v 6.0
Average Disposals: 13.0 v 12.4
Average Marks: 2.4 v 4.9
Scoring: 3.3.21 v 17.7.99
Average Tackles: 4.8 v 2.3
Average Hit-Outs: 26.0 v 21.7
Very close stats wise - what pips Jolly over Mumford is his marking and goal-scoring. 17 goals versus 3 is significant.
hm... to me it seems that Mummy has more Impact on games but I see where your coming from too so it is pretty close actually.

Jonathan Brown is a no know. Surrely Riewoldt or Hall at full forward.
Enright I don't think so, reckon Milburn or Harry T has been better this year for the Cats.
yeaah i was a bit shaky on them ill fix it up :)
Taylor should get a spot in the team. Has had his best year by far.
I think Fletch should be there, he has conceded goals but that is because his job is to zone off his man to help Pears (earlier) and other defenders meaning he cannot fully focus on his man. He has saved more goals than he conceded. To me Essendons defence would be even more unstable without him.
Jobe Watson anyone? Thought he's been very good this year. Maybe not to make the team but at least in the short list.
And Buddy's had a good year and should get a spot a CHF.
I also think Ben Stratton from Hawthorn has been a very effective FB.
Would another 3 excellent games from Adam Goodes put him in the running?
Watson should get shortlisted but the quality of the midfield this year might not see him make the team. Will be very hard for him to be chosen over the likes of Ablett, Montagna, Swan, Boyd, etc.
Buddy should even if he gets suspended alot :P. Same with Goodes. Had a bad first half to the year, but not many forwards who haven't been patching this year.
Stratton I doubt it. Not many 1st year players are able to make the cut. Anthony was great last half of last year but didn't get short listed. If Barlow was still playing though ;).
Rule No.1 of making an All-Aus Team. If Judd isn't in it, put him in.

Think a few years ago he was left out ;). Forgot who but remember he was.

It is very true. Especially when he has had a season like he has this year 8)

Johncock probably missed too many games, I'm sick to death of Scarlett being selected every week, Jonathan Brown won't make it, neither will Cyril Rioli. Where's Barry Hall?

Scott Cummings won Coleman medal but was left out of team for Lloyd.
Lecras should make the team this year but probably won't .small foward on 60 goals running 3rd in the Coleman at the moment.could actually win the Coleman if his team mates could get the ball to him better.

scarlett, are you flowering serious?
Here we go:
B:Frawley, Lake, Newman
HB:Gilbee, Grundy, Malceski
C:Goddard, Swan (c), Selwood
HF: Didak,Franklin ,Chapman
F: Green, J Reiwoldt, Le Cras
Foll: Sandilands, Ablett, Hodge (vc)
I/C: Montagna, Cross, Pendlebury, Jamar
I don't think Gilbee or Grundy, but I like the rest of the team!
Gotta be honest here. Jamar has been very very good this year. But he is not all australian standard YET. He's a old school ruckmen and I'm sure selectors would be looking for more of a Dean Cox/Sandi type.
my all australian team would be:
Forwards:
Fyfe (Fremantle
Cloke (Collingwood)
Johnson (Geelong)
Goodes (Sydney)
Chapman (Geelong)
Franklin (Hawthorn)
Midfielders:
Murphy (Carlton)
Swan (Collingwood)
Pendulbury (Collingwood)
Boyd (Western Bulldogs)
Judd (Carlton)
Rucks:
Cox (West Coast Eagles)
Goldstein (Kangaroos)
Defenders:
Gibbs (Carlton)
Scotland (Carlton)
Goddard (St Kilda)
Delideo (Richmond)
Suckling (Hawthorn)
Enright (Geelong)
Interchange:
Fisher (St Kilda)
Leuenberger (Brisbane)
Ablett (Gold Coast)
O'Keefe (Sydney)
Emergencies:
Thompson (Adelaide)
Mitchell (Hawthorn)
Thomas (Collingwood)
Dal Santo over Boyd, Thomas over Chappy....
And probably need a proper key defender or 2 IMO....
Nice side though
I suspect Ben Reid would get amongst those backs, none of them play tall.
Mitchell and NDS might edge Boyd out of the starting line-up as well.
Living in Sydney it is very hard to watch many games and see who is playing well, but here is my team...
FB: Suckling, Taylor, Deledio
HB: Gibbs, Fisher, Goddard
C: Swan, Dal Santo, Pendles
HF: Fyfe, Kennedy, Franklin
FF: LeCras, Cloke, Johnson
Foll: Cox, Ablett, Judd
Bench: Goldstein, Thompson, Newman, Goodes
Probably a bit biased putting in Thompson, but he has consistently performed to a very high standard even if Adelaide has not...
