Read the article in the Herald sun today. Apparently Van Berlo is the front runner :o.

Reckon they need an experienced head to lead them. My top 3 would be out of Bock, Rutten and Thompson with Thompson the pick of the lot. Johncock could be a smokie behind these guys ;).

Probably. Needs to show some leadership skills right now though.

Could be a good leader if he resists Gold Coast :P. Shows loyalty ;).

Responding to Q on Tip.

The C might tempt Thompson to stay ;). He is a good leader and role model on and off field.

Would say Thompson IF he did NOT get the C would he say go join his good mate Kornes @ Port as a previous Port (SANFL) player or spit it & chase the moolah at GCFC?

Should be pretty high up in GCFC. Would get offered decent cash so reckon he'll go there before Port.

Who do you think will take over the captaincy reins??
Betstar has the following odds...
Van Berlo @ $2.00 (Perth boy-could be used as trade bait for Pav) :-\
Ben Rutten @ $4.00 (Not the leader people think-Basset was) ???
Scott Thompson @ $5.00 (off field dramas-GFC) :-\
Chris Knights @ $8.00 (injuries and Victorian - think Kane/Richmond) ::)
Bernie Vince @ $11.00 (not in leadership currently/off field drama) :-X
Nathan Bock @ $15.00 (changed man, most intelligent, decision maker) ;D
Patrick Dangerfield @ $26.00 (still hasn't signed,maybe VC to stay) :)

Source on the odds was Adelaide  Advertiser, pg107, May 29.

I'd get on Bocky, Moonta boy , not going anywhere!

Wasn't Bock in trouble recently & would the image still follow him around?

Nice odds McRooster you found 8).

Bock or Thompson likely canidates (Bock making a better image from past). Might go Knights as a bit of a smokie ;). Don't see him much of a leader compared to those 2 though.

Surely Modra or Jarman have the capability to lead this fledging club.

Maybe an alternative scenario is to go deep inside the current group and see the true leadership potential of Jack Gunston. The kid could take on Captain/Coach given Craig's current success.

That said at least Craig is finally not going to flop in the finals this year.  ;)
