For round 3, who should i have as captain?
Nick Riewoldt vs Collingwood (161 last rd)
Gary Ablett Jnr vs Fremantle (128 last rd)
Jonathan Brown vs Port Adelaide (171 last rd)
come on guys vote!!!
Too early, teams aren't announced yet.
you dont have to vote yet, but can you tell me based on last round's performances?
Who do you think, and why?
Gary Ablett Jnr is amazing, he gets around 120 every week, so he is very consistent, but he doesnt usually get 160's or 170's that often. But it helps that geelong play Freo.
But Jonathan Brown should kick 8 goals, considering they play Port Adelaide this week, and he is having an amazing season.
Im not so sure about Nick Riewoldt, though. He will have to put up with either Heath Shaw or Harry O'Brien from Collingwood, and both those players can shut Nick Riewoldt down at the flick of a switch. And i'm not just saying that because I go for Collingwood. Harry O'Brien and Heath Shaw can shut him down, don't deny it.
crowley is probably the only player in the league who can actually tag gary ablett with some conviction so be wary of that
johnno brown should dominate as fev will draw carlile, their only decent defender, and chad cornes cant play on anyone
but blakey, u are not serious that harry or shaw culd shut down roo?!?!
roo is the modern day king!
he not only is bigger than both these guys, but stronger faster n will not stop running, both harry n shaw are run off players so the only thing they culd do to roo wuld be to make him accountable
maxwell well go to roo n nick wuld embarass him with 14 odd marks n at least 6 goals
Have to agree browny. Shutting down roo with a flick of the switch is a ridiculous statement. Particularly with the form he is in.
As for who to pick as captain I think Ablett has to be the one. He may have had a slight injury to his calf against the mighty Hawks but he will come back stronger than ever next week. I don't think Freo will try to lock Ablett down this week, just do their best to keep their own running game going.
Early days to be announcing a captain.
You don't get GAJ to not have him captain!
Roo and Brown have had awesome start but don't think that will go unnoticed - they both won the matches for their teams and expect double tag. KPP can be unreliable at best and that is why it is generally a good move NOT to have them as captain. But big rewards if you tempt fate and it pays off ;D
None, ROK against Richmond :)
With brown as Vice
O'Keefe, ROO or brown as captain.......my theory is to have captain against showere teams...so im thinking okeefe this week.....but in saying that it back fired with swan!!!!
swan was tagged out by macdonald versing the demons. richmond have no real tagger (don't rate jackson or king highly). bulldog mids scored well so if you have to choose between those 3, ROK for me.
Roo is in great form as is Brown but I'd have to go with ROK against Richmond, remember last year Goodes scored 220 against them? They're worse this year :-\
cheers hellopplz.........if i had roo last week i would hit 2300+ spewing thats twice in 2 weeks ive stuffed it....other wise all is looking well made some changes looking settled now....all i need to do is to chase the coin!!!!
Im thinking ROK against tigers also.....
otherwise maybe brown

ROK?
Ryan O'Keefe ::)
wow Blake, wow
Supposed to be wet all week in Adelaide, could hinder JBs chances and could disappoint a lot of people who are chasing his points from rnd 1 & 2. Ablett with all his clangers and creepy crowley on the horizon sshould scare those that have Ablett. roo for me of the 3 choices in teh poll.
rok averages more against coll, ess and rich....
gaj doesnt average well against freo
riewoldt averages well again pies and lastly jb doesnt average well againt port so i wouldnt be selecting him
im probably going with rok this week
what about seaby richmond have no rucks so easy points think big score will come from sydney
im going GAJ. i bought him for a reason. and he is so consistent with high scores.
I'm sticking with GAJ. He's scores of 127 and 128 have been fine. It's just some other blokes have had some massive scores which they wont keep up.
swan for sure

People with GAJ in their team should not be reading this post because he is "the best perma-capt" and therefore should not need to enter in to discussion about weekly captain choices. Or have I missed something? Or are people starting to worry about Gazza and his clangers and his teamates not helping him and his date with Crowley?
If you have Gary and don't have him as captain, trade him out and upgrade!
I have Gaz AND Riewoldt so Gazza is not a captain lock for me given what Riewoldt can score and his recent form

im not going for the most consistent player, im going for who will score the MOST POINTS this round :)

Better options out there. Try and make your captain a proven premium (which Seaby isn't). Premium mid fielders are often the best options as score the highest. KPP are a risk, but big scores if pay off ;D e.g. Roo and Brown last 2 games.
I think ROK is looking good :D Anyone against Richmond this year is a sure thing.
picking the best captain can give you an extra 500+ points for the year. it can be the difference. just look at the averages some teams. e.g fremantle of late have been able to stop GAJ racking up high possesions.
ive had reiwoldt the last two weeks and im not sure im going to have him this week.
somebody pleeeeease convince me not to put Browny as captain! it's so tempting!

There's 3 pretty convincing reasons right there - one of them more than the other two ::)
Can't help but think Brown will get some extra attention against PA due to last 2 weeks. Probably worth Fev as captain if they are concentrating on Browny!
Who would you hav as captain this week....if you could hav anyone as it depends who is playing who....
well GAJ???
i'm teased with the idea of ROK this week tho with the creepy crowley tag and swans playing tigers @ SCG
just a bloody waste not having gazza captain tho!!!
There has been a few forums about this already. But as Brown doesn't play that well against port, I'm going for ROK against the tigers
Backing Chappy for no apparent reason ;D
I might put gumby as captain. He will rip up the blues.
Hodge for me...
hi thanks for ur input'''...I changed GAJ last week after reading sheeds say he had a calf prob...to swan...doh..should hav had roc or revolt...thems the breaks...who would hav thought melb would show sum balls...how dose roo go against the woods..
true u could hav roc against tigers or maybe goods...although did not do enough last week...or could tigers show sum guts,,,
Ablett, Browny, Goddard, Riwoldt or Cooney
You payed 744k for Ablett to have him as capt every game.
true korza and who out of these gumbelton duncan or hitcock?
Duncan
Could play it safe with ablett (against freo might pull another lazy 120+).
brown and roo are in form but are risky as they are forwards. but versing port and pies might feel a little tough for them. brown doesn't have a great record against port and if the pies get presti back, roo might be in for a long night if he gets double teamed.
not GOD or Coon Cheese, I'm leaning towards ablett for you.
something is telling me Goddard?

against cooooolingwood?
i want to say brown but doesn't play good against Port so i am going with Roo and yes Q against Collingwood
Im going ROK this week.

Im going ROK this week.
That makes 2 of us. Has a good record against the Tigers too!
who should i put as captain this week.
Not sure about ablett as he has struggled against freo.
I am considering dal santo, riewoldt, brown, goddard, maybe even barlow!!
I am leaning towards dal as he has had a good record against the pies averaging 124 in there last 5 h&a matches.
Any ideas
Roo or ROK!!!
yeah sorry i forgot about ROK aswell
That makes 3 of us. ROK for me also
I'll be naming Ablett as captain.
no to god and brown,
barlow? pig will kill him.
bartel, roo and rok
Makes 4 of us, i'm going ROK too.
Haven't been posting my links in here this year but I've had a few enquiries about this so I thought this one was worth posting:
The YSCC Captain Column â€" BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND! For the week Ablett plays his dreaded Kryptonite side â€" Fremantle.

Who should be captian this week im goin towards Okeefe
Has to be Ablett. Sell him if you don't make him captain.
I'll buy his for 5 bucks ;D
have to disagree ossie i reckon crowley will keep him quiter ROK for me
yeh same, creepy will shut him down like always. o'keefe for me also.
and even though i dont have him. ive got a feeling montagna will go nuts against my boys tonight. possible 150+ score coming up.
Sandilands anyone? As no Ottens and playing at Subiaco.

That's a huge blow for Geelong. Sandi will dominate. Looks like a good option

Originally ROK, but may change to Sandi...
Bartel but considering Sandi
Happy Chappy for me ;D. was also considering Dal Santo, ROK, Roo, Sandi and Selwood. I have so far picked bad captian choices past 2 weeks with others scoring higher :'(
With Barlow in your team that isn't hard! Just not game to pick him as captain.

People will do it, they see two scores like that, they think he's just a mature age recruit that's the equivalent of a young gun in his 5th or 6th year, they get caught up in it all, and forget about the pink pig. I went with perma-capt GAJ obviously week, VC NDS did well also though, will take 260 if GAJ pulls out late.
