Round 18
IMPORTANT NOTE - PLEASE READ
AFL teams will be announcing their teams at 6:20pm AEST on Thursday (Wednesday for Thursday night games)
Sunday teams are confirmed at 5pm AEST on Friday (Saturday for Monday games)
We WILL be using a partial lockout, please read the rule below.
You are encouraged to name your full team at the start of the round and edit accordingly as teams drop each day. I understand this is not possible for everyone, hence why it would be preferred that people name their full team to begin with.
If you make any edits to your team, please do so in a new 'quote' post.
There is no loopholing allowed in ADT
- Fri - Sun games are back, so You can name four (4) emergencies.
- In the event a coach either submits an incomplete team or fails to submit a team at all without contacting the admin, they will receive a warning/strike and their submission from last week will be used. Penalties for this can be found in the rules post (no sacking coaches because we barely have enough as is).
Friday night FULL LOCKOUT at 7.50pm AEST

Round 18 - For whom the bell tolls...
L
Bermuda Tiger Sharks (1) defeat by default Los Angeles Kings (0)
No bearing on the ladder results, but Bermuda get another W on the board
Dallas Dent Top 4 Calgary Dreams
Calgary Fireflies (1639) defeated by Dallas Coyotes (1877)
Dallas back with a vengeance this week, asserting themselves with a commanding win. Calgary fail to meet the assignment and secure a top 4 spot, with their fate now in the hands of Guadalajara and Springfield to keep El Paso and Washington at bay. Not ideal for the Fireflies.
Washington Whiz Past Pirates to Plunder Top 4?
Guadalajara Pirates (1427) defeated by Washington Senators (1890)
A dominant display as last weeks heroics are long forgotten for Guadalajara. A win and some healthy percentage to boot sees Washington's top 4 chances shorten significantly with Calgary suffering a decent loss, is it enough to slip into 4th spot? Or will it be for naught and El Paso sneak by instead?
Hawaii Hammer-blow!
Arizona Scorpions (1531) defeated by Hawaiian Surfers (1731)
HAWAII OUT OF NOWHERE! Hawaii not only capitalise on a weakened Arizona, but post a 1700 score against the old rival! They notch up win number 2 and this one will be special, as Arizona's top 2 chances are now up in the air! A Springfield win sees them slide down to 3rd and miss a big finals chance! Boy oh boy!
It may not be a match to make finals, but both of the remaining teams have big reasons to win. El Paso can finish 4th with a decently sized win over Springfield, while Springfield just have to take the W to snag second from the clouds! It's all down to this after 18 rounds, so who gets the job done?
...It tolls for thee.
Springfield Snatch Second
El Paso Pioneers (1656) defeated by Springfield Isotopes (1657)
Springfield secure second place with a 1 point victory in an epic match! The underdogs in El Paso came so close to knocking off the Isotopes at home, but 1 point was all it took. Both teams suffered from some poor form and injuries, with Parker, Cerra and Daniel putting up stinkers to name a few, but Springfield rose above and win a well deserved 4 points to move above Arizona on the ladder, booking themselves in an ideal position to progress through the finals.
Tough luck for El Paso, but they're in the hunt and anything is possible this season. (Go Dallas)
And the ladder at the conclusion of Round 18:
Rank | Team | Score | Against | Wins | Losses | Percentage |
1 | Dallas Coyotes | 31893 | 29243.5 | 16 | 2 | 109.060133 |
2 | Springfield Isotopes | 29044 | 27338 | 12 | 6 | 106.240398 |
3 | Arizona Scorpions | 28623 | 27606.5 | 12 | 6 | 103.6821039 |
4 | Washington Senators | 29075.5 | 28100.5 | 11 | 7 | 103.4696892 |
5 | Calgary Fireflies | 29895.5 | 29509 | 11 | 7 | 101.3097699 |
6 | El Paso Pioneers | 28489.5 | 27836 | 10 | 8 | 102.3476793 |
7 | Los Angeles Kings | 20846.5 | 21501 | 7 | 11 | 96.95595554 |
8 | Guadalajara Pirates | 27274 | 29908.5 | 5 | 13 | 91.19146731 |
9 | Bermuda Tiger Sharks | 26437 | 28384.5 | 4 | 14 | 93.138861 |
10 | Hawaiian Surfers | 28412 | 30562.5 | 2 | 16 | 92.96359918 |
Congratulations to Dallas for winning back to back minor premierships! (Better win the whole thing this time big dog)
Hawaii, commiserations on the wooden spoon, but Harley Reid is a nice consolation prize (if we continue next season)
To our finalists, congratulations! See you on Friday for the start of the finals series.
We'll kick off with the following matches, may the best team win!
Qualifying Final 1: Dallas Coyotes v Springfield Isotopes
