Title: Brett Deledio
Post by: shog on February 04, 2009, 08:43:24 AM
How good is this bloke? Before i didn't rate him very highly but his performance last season made me stand up and take notice. This could be the year where he takes the next step to elite status becoming a DT gun. However, i am not 100% convinced. With Cousins and Coughlin coming back could this translate to lower numbers for deledio?? I guess we'll have to wait till the NAB Cup to see if it could potentially have an effect. There are many other premium forwards around his price range (Franklin, Pavlich etc.) that are proven and could be less riskier? what do you think? Will you be picking Deledio for DT 09?

IMO Deledio is more proven than Franklin. But that is just my opinion. I am still going to get on Deledio as i don't think that cousins or cougs will have an effect on his scores. He will still get a fair bit of midfield time, and when he goes forward he still gets the point you need, with goals, marks and the like. So i think the worst outcome, barring injury, is he will hold his average. I do expect an improvment from 'lids' this year.

Teams without Deledio in them will suffer. A must have.

Being able to select Delidio as a forward is a luxury.
Wouldn't pick him as a centre though.

I agree totally with that. in the forward he will score hugely but in the centres there are so many ppl higher than him, some at a lower price
