What I mean is, page editors usually try for a catchy/witty subheadline.
"MORE AND MOORE PIES DOWN" is standard fare in a "oh yeah I get it" sort of way.
But "TIGERS RED IN TOOTH AND CLAW", is from Tennyson's "In Memorium":
QuoteWho trusted God was love indeed
And love Creation's final law
Tho' Nature, red in tooth and claw
With ravine, shriek'd against his creed
This is a little unusual for sports journalism, as is:
"DONS DONE BY WORPEL DAGGER" which seems to be a reference to Lewis Carroll's "Jabberwocky":
QuoteOne, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.
What is going on here :o
