Title: EA100 2018
Post by: EA100 on April 30, 2018, 01:05:23 AM
DEF: Hibberd, Yeo, Savage, Finlayson, Murray, Doedee (Mirra, Murphy)
MID: Dangerfield, Martin, Mitchell, Fyfe, Coniglio, O'Meara, Kelly, Holman (Banfield, Coffield, Garlett)
RUC: Gawn, Jacobs (Cameron)
FWD: Gray, Menegola, Smith, Billings, Stephenson, Langdon (Fritsch, Henry)

22 Trades & 183k

I hate looking at my team, there is a fair bit i want to do, but with the amount of trades i've already used i need to be wise. B/E's:
Finlayson: 57
Murray: 54
Doedee: 17
Kelly: 39
Holman: 35
Banfield: 41
Coffield: 54
Garlett: 34
Stephenson: 56
Fritsch: -7
Henry: 27
Langdon: -28
Jacobs & Billings are the main prems that are annoying me. I think that with Billings having a decent record against Melbourne that maybe something can happen and maybe he can kick straight considering he missed out on 20+ points at least missing 3 goals. I really want to get some first round bye players in to even it up so Cripps, Macrae, Simpson or Sicily in the next few weeks.

Only ranked 59k and want to push as high as possible, have gone up 25k spots in the past two weeks.

Out of the 4 you have listed Cripps & Sicily have the low BEs so I would be targeting one of those 2. I would prefer to go Holman to Sicily via one of your FWD/MIDs but it looks like you will be 1 or 2K short so Banfield would have to be used instead.

Thinking of going:

Banfield > Spargo
Holman > Cripps

Leaving me with my midfield looking like:
Dangerfield, Martin, Mitchell, Fyfe, Cripps, Coniglio, O’Meara, Kelly (Coffield, Spargo, Garlett)

20 Trades and 26k

And then next week focusing in on my forward line. But this all depends on the further announcements on teams. Thoughts?

Would go Duman instead of Spargo I think, always risky bringing in a rookie after one game.

Very strong midfield.

I reckon Kobe Mutch (fair enough he is not on the bubble either) ahead of both Spargo & Duman.

Mmm I know what you mean, I was going to get Thomas Cole but he’s too expensive. How is Duman’s JS looking?

Thanks mate, pretty satisfied with that for now, if no injuries occur.

Round 7 score: 2165
Round 7 rank: 40,509
Overall rank: 56,606 (+3,148)

I’ve already quickly done some trades but that could change obviously, depending on team announcements.

Finlayson into the midfield > Worpel
Coffield into the defence > Sicily

DEF: Yeo, Sicily, Hibberd, Savage, Doedee, Murray (Mirra, Murphy)
MID: Dangerfield, Martin, Fyfe, Cripps, Mitchell, Coniglio, O’Meara, Kelly (Worpel, Spargo, Garlett)
RUC: Gawn, Jacobs (Cameron)
FWD: Gray, Menegola, Billings, Smith, Stephenson, Fritsch (Henry, Giles-Langdon)

18 trades left and 5k left

Then next week obviously downgrade Doedee/Murray/Stephenson for either Simpson or McLean. Does Worpel have decent JS or should I just weaken my forward line a touch and get rid of Billings for Ronke. Wouldn’t mind getting in a rookie ruckman but then there is no money made with Cameron.

Pretty average score again but still managed to somehow climb 5k this week. Big let down's from the standard liabilities this week (Jacobs, Billings) as well as the rookies. Thinking of somehow getting in another premium defender, as i don't have Laird or Simpson. Was also looking at maybe getting in McLean in but all my forward rookies have reasonable B/E's still. Opinions on suitable options for making those moves in defence? I could bite the bullet and go:

O'Meara > Phillips
Finlayson switched with Coffield then Coffield > Laird/Simpson

Look like solid trades.

I'd just do Finlayson to Laird personally. Coffield has been consistent bar that 21 and he still has more money to make, Finlayson has topped out and is moving backwards now :)

I agree with PB Finlayson has topped so straight trade for him. Coffield has a B/E of 21 as well so more money to make there.  If he average 58 from here he will make another 50k to his bye.

Borderline deleting my team and throwing in the towel right now. Went O'Meara > Phillips and then Doedee instead of Finlayson > Laird. My team is pretty weak right now. Liabilities like Jacobs and Billings aren't helping plus terrible scores from Menegola, Hibberd, Gray. Players like Cripps & Mitchell (C) got me over 2000. Im thinking this week of bringing in an interesting inclusion in Gaff who's lowest and only score under 100 is 92, and also has that unpopular bye but because of the order of the byes should i wait till after his one to get rid of him? Anyways im thinking of going Finlayson > Gaff through Coffield being moved and then Coffield down to Ridley? Need some big advice on my next few trades..

What about something like this:
Murray to Ridley this week - Leaves you with 330k
Finlayson to Ryan/Simpson/Hurn - 200k approx leftover

Then next week:
Henry to Walters
Kelly or Hibberd to a fallen prem

Firstly, Hibberd, Jacobs, Menagola & Billings all stay for the forseeable future. Touch wood 2 or 3 of 'em get moving asap. I would consider a double downgrade. Finlayson & Maurray to Ridley & Rice. Then next week Coffield/Garlett to McCrae & Kelly to Rocky/Shuey.

Thanks boys. Decided to take the advice from both of you guys and get rid of Finlayson and Murray. I went:

Finlayson > Ridley
Murray (switched with Sicily) > McLean
Left with 86k

Mainly did this because it suits the bye rounds better. Needed a suitable option for the round 12 bye in my defence and moving Sicily back was the best and then McLean is also a suitable option as well for the forward line, leaving me with room to go for Westhoff/Boak to help get through the bye's.

Good call I reckon EA. McLean has been super thus far. A 72 & a 91 & 7 x 100+.

Pretty happy with how i went this week considering Grey was out, but Henry came up huge with the 99. Defensively, i think i leave it for now especially with Mirra playing well right now, and Ridley still in the team this week fingers crossed. Midfield is where i think i make the upgrade move with Kelly on the decline right now unless he somehow pulls a big score to stop the large B/E from dropping his price. Coffield, Phillips & Spargo are still playing, which gives me decent cover, as well as Garlett constantly moving in and out of the 1's. Rucks has created one of my worst decisions by getting in Sam Jacobs at the start of the year which has killed me with his last three games average being around 50. Honestly been so tempted to upgrade to Grundy right now. With the forward line, im pretty happy with how its looking, especially with Grey having his bye over and done with and having Henry, Ronke and ZGL having decent games to keep their price going up.

With my trades this week i definitely am thinking of upgrading Kelly to either Westhoff and Boak and having them as cover for the first round of byes in the midfield then swinging them back into the forward line as M6 and then upgrading to Gaff/Macrae after their bye. I can just afford getting Boak i think by doing the straight upgrade from Kelly. However i really want to get in Smith from Melbourne because he's been taking advantage of their form by having a very low B/E now. Need help with whether its worth downgrading to him or not. As well as trades overall for the next week or two.

Maybe Ronke to Smith & Kelly to Westhoff/Boak or a dirt cheap Rocky. Henry to Heeney at some stage.

I was thinking of doing these moves this week but not 100% sure..

Coffield > T.Smith via McLean into the midfield
Kelly > Boak

which leaves me with 126.9k

MID: Fyfe, Dangerfield, Martin, Coniglio, Mitchell, Cripps, McLean, Boak
FWD: Gray, Menegola, Smith, Billings, Ronke, Henry

Then in the next two weeks eventually move Boak and McLean back into the forward line, and upgrade Ronke & Henry in the midfield for Gaff & another prem midfielder, so..

MID: Fyfe, Dangerfield, Martin, Coniglio, Mitchell, Cripps, Gaff, Prem Midfielder
FWD: McLean, Boak, Gray, Menegola, Smith, Billings

This will leave me with my D6 left to upgrade..

Offloading Coffield instead of Ronke sounds like a good move.
