Title: Rd 1 - Friday 23rd March - Essendon v Adelaide - Etihad Stadium - 7:50pm AEDT
Post by: Ringo on March 21, 2018, 07:11:42 PM
Crows will be itching to get back into it after the disappointing loss in the Grand Final.

Bombers have not beaten the Crows since 2014 so will they break this record?

These two teams were 2 of the highest scoring teams last year so could be a shout out.  Crows will be without Tex so does that swing the ledger back to Bombers.

Toss of coin for me but lean slightly to Crows even though away from home.

Still think Crows are good enough to get this win even without Tex. Especially if the bombers persist with using Stringer as a midfielder ::)

We've got a few injuries it looks like. Gleeson, Ambrose, Myers, Colyer, Fantasia out. Parish doubtful.

Even with Tex and Crouch out I am more hopeful than optimistic of our chances.

Can add McNiece to those missing too as he probably would’ve stepped in if fit, Parish will play though unless he has a setback.

No Tex, Crouch, or Smith will hurt the Crows. Probably can’t see us winning but hopefully we can stay competitive for four quarters, have nobody else join the injury list and show some good signs of pressing for a top six spot.

I also still think the Crows will win but the crows are missing a few others ..

Lever, Brouch, Walker, Knight, Cameron, Lynch?

Brodie Smith as well. Gibbs and Gibson in helps though

Lynch out makes a bit more of a dent up fwd, so i'm not as sold on the Crows now

Common sense prevails and sorry Gibbo but, you can run but by foot you are not good and a liability in Adelaide's side. Was surprised when he was named tbh. Great backup but a starter in this Adelaide team with his leg? ???

The only common sense is not playing someone with a hamstring injury? ??? He is a back up, he was just needed due to injuries and underdone players.

Ok Milera, Gallucci, Greenwood, Knight (Injured) Brad (Injured) but Hampton and CEY were named which excited me. Still found that selection strange

Still despite all the injuries just have that feeling the Crows will get up by 20 or so.

Contact was with the shoulder I think and think maybe the whiplash was the reason with the head. Hope he is OK though for my team.

Was always going to be extremely tough without Tex, Lynch, BCrouch, Knight, and obviously no Smith so I expected a loss away against an improving Bombers outfit; bringing in an underdone Greenwood for the injured Gibson severely hampered our outside run as well, really need Tex and Lynch back next week against the Tigers, but well done to the Bombers tonight.

Must say, i thought the Crows done really well in the circumstances. Still believe a full strength  Adelaide, is a big threat this year. The Bombers look very exciting, and lost Zerrett early. Good Friday night game to watch. Now the umpires, well, getting pissed of with these 50's, for getting in the zone. Seems to harsh for me

Don't even want to look at my AF. Believe I had Byrne and Weits (who was a placeholder that I forgot about) in that one. Also have Kreuz and Merrett in RDT so I feel the pain. At least it's R1. If a guy is to get concussed it's this week. If he kills it the rest of the season people won't be able to afford him since he will only have 1 price drop potentially.
