Title: Pendlebury

Quote“You’ll definitely see Jack Crisp down back. I dare say you’ll see myself and Pendles (Scott Pendlebury) play some sort of backline time,” he told RSN927.

So does this cast doubts over Pendles now?

Could be a good upgrade option now, plays in the back line early, scores like shower, then Bucks realises he's needed back in the mids.
Pick him up for low 500's in round 7-8  :P

Some of the comments in the news story are great haha

"Yes , having the player most likely to turn the ball over , across half back ,  that sounds like a Buckley plan to me "

"So now Adams can butcher the ball closer to oppositions goal line ... should be fun to watch."

He was for me anyway. This just confirms it.

Buckely threw him all around the park last year and it was infuriating as hell. I will continue with my mantra "The next SC generation is here" and miss him this year.

I am in denial about Pendles.   How about we just move Buckley on and get on with it.

Yeah play your best player at half back bucks, genius.

Staring midfield should be Grundy, Pendles, Treloar, Adams.

On the bright side, Pendles with defender status next year sounds nice

Rd 22, 2015: 155 SC (32 disposals, 11 marks, 6 tackles)
Rd 2, 2016: 110 SC (26 disposals, 5 marks, 4 tackles)
Rd 3, 2016: 102 SC (27 disposals, 3 marks, 4 tackles, 2 goals)

Are his games playing across half-back in the last 2 and a bit seasons.

Iv said it a few times but Buckley seems to look to Pendles more and more as a Mr Fix it now
while favouring giving the younger up and coming mids more time in the guts.

It is hard to judge how the inconsistency of being moved around where needed impacts a players natural game
and in turn their SC scores.

Pendles will always score premo numbers but there is a difference between 106 and 115.

I'd pay a little bit more and go Merret/Crouch/Neale. Or go a bit less for Beams. Still an option though, just don't think he's the player he once was.

Crisp replaces Maynard at half back, Pendles still in the middle. Will probably still do better than Adams or Treloar in SC because he can actually think and not panic kick

Same time. Can't remember a team without him.

I'm sure I'll change my mind by the time R1 comes around, but at this stage I'm steering clear of all Pies Mids. Once the days of reliability, have now become uncertainty.

Dunno about him. He's been such a lock in my team every year. And it's weird I'm having doubts about him. Had an average year last year and still got 106.

I'm of the opinion fully fit he can go back to 115

At the moment he is battling it out for that 5th picked mid spot for me. However im currently going with 4 mids so i dont have anyone at m5.

i feel he is way too good a player to really regress below 105, but he has that upside of 120. He seems to me pretty low risk but also not the best chance of improving, 105-110 again is certainly on the cards.

There are guys with more probably upside but then your either paying more like (Crouch) or you have higher chance of negative (Beams Rocky).

Last nights game was a joke to him, didn't turn it on until the last and looked just about the best player out there at that time. He always starts really well until the pies have nothing to play for anymore. If we are in finals contention he will continually pump out 120's. If not well we will see a drop.

Agree with this^

Also I posted this in another thread confirming how he feels about preseason games:

Pendles Pre-sesaon VS Real season

2008: 35 -> 104
2009: 95 -> 106
2010: 87 -> 111
2011: 107 -> 129
2012: 115 -> 125
2013: 111 -> 127
2014: 112 -> 124
2015: 120 -> 116
2016: DNP in preseason -> 118
2017: DNP in preseason -> 107

With the exception of 2015, Pendles always has quiet preseasons. Fair to say that he doesn't really care about preseason games. I care about the numbers on the right though.
