Grand Final is here everyone! After all these weeks, all these matches, we are now down to just the two teams; Birmingham Dragons and Leeds Leeches. The Dragons have been a force to be reckoned with almost all year, finishing first on the ladder at the conclusion of the Home and Away season, having only dropped the one game, and with plenty of huge scores under their belt. The Leeches didn't produce as many big scores, but basically never put up a bad score, and this ultimately resulted in them finishing 2nd on the ladder, and taking out the Rob Roy Award for being the last team standing in our knockout cup competition. Regarding the teams themselves, the Dragons will look to regain Zach Merrett and Mitch Duncan this week (providing both actually make the cut), but it will be a tough decision on who to drop after last week's impressive performance against the in-form Werewolves. The Leeches look to be without captain Gary Ablett again this weekend, which is a massive blow to their side. Jack Viney is also in some doubt, and if he were to miss as well, it could make things very very difficult for the Leeches. Regardless of the result though, it's great to see some new teams not only finishing in the top 2 on the ladder, but making it into the Granny as well! I'm sure both coaches will be very happy with the improvement that they have gotten out of their teams this year, and both look set for some sustained success over the next few years. My tip for this week though? I think it's hard to look past the Dragons, especially with their midfielders back, and Ablett (plus possibly Viney) missing for the Leeches. So the Dragons will go in as favourites. But who doesn't love an underdog win?! Anything can happen in a Grand Final ;)

Unlucky kb, the Dragons had a great year as well, just fell over at the final hurdle. You've done a great job at taking the Dragons from 9th to Minor Premiers, and almost winning the GF in just the one off-season though!

I'd also like to congratulate the Giants on taking out the premiership in the bottom half of the ladder! Should be pushing for top 8 in 2018, have an extremely good list coming through now after 2 seasons I believe at the helm, inheriting a very poor list when starting. So well done to Rids and Nostra :)
Oh and I just realised, the Leeches ended up taking out both the Rob Roy award, and the Premiership in the one year! Outstanding season jhello! :D

I thought I'd mix it up this year. Instead of losing another GF, I would lose the Prelim and then smash out a monster score that would've beaten both grand finalists even if I had HGA against.
