Pick your All Australian team to the mid point of the season. Mine is
FB: S.Docherty, M.Hurley, R.Laird
HB: Z.Williams, A.Rance, E.Yeo
C: J.Kelly, P.Dangerfield, R.Sloane
HF: T.Greene, J.Cameron, R.Gray
FF: E.Betts, J.Kennedy, L.Franklin
R: S.Mumford, J.Selwood (C), D.Martin
Int: T.Mitchell, R.Tarrant, M.Bontempelli, S.Pendlebury
Very hard task this year
Reckon your team is near perfect, except not entirely convinced Gray is in AA form. Every other player easily justifiable
Who are the other close ones that missed out?
Off the top of my head Zerrett, McGovern and Cotchin come to mind but I wouldn't drop any of your selected for them
Maybe Gov for Tarrant ;)

My main headache was picking one of Z.Williams, Roberton or Howe for a half back flank.
Could have put a goal kicking mid at half forward in Grays place but tried to pick players in position and think Gray has been good as a stay at home forward. Been very quiet at times but has also kicked bags and always looks like scoring when the ball goes near him.
A lot of mids to pick from as always and plenty stiff to miss out. McGovern could easily slip in to Tarrants spot, was a tough call ;)
Jake Lloyd? Been super consistent in an under performing Swans team bar his concussion game.

FB: Docherty, Rance, Howe
HB: Laird, Hurley, Yeo
C: Ebert, Dangerfield, Kelly
HF: Greene, Franklin, Martin
FF: Betts, Kennedy, Cameron
Fol: Jacobs, Sloane [vc], Selwood [c]
I/C: Oliver, Cotchin, Bontempelli, Mitchell
Thoughts?
Good to see Ebert being recognised elsewhere, having an absolute blinder of a season and is surely in serious consideration.
Roberton massively stiff!

Some guy named brad passed on the rumour.
Just your typical 19 year old 23 gamer listed on the bench.

Dick Reynolds won the Brownlow when he was 19 years and 91 days old. Oliver is a bit slow out of the blocks.
And Libba snr had played just 18 games before his Brownlow winning season.
He's got a good point Purps

Not really.
Reynolds won in 1934 when the game was not even close to the level of professionalism it is now.
Libba won after "18 games" but that was his 5th year in the AFL.
classic manipulation of facts from Meow.
Oliver is pulling crazy numbers, replicating the amazing work Joel Selwood did at this stage in his career.

Im better at it and less bias though :P
Meow compared a 19 year old Oliver in his second season to a guy who played during the great depression and a 5th year player.
meow was clearly taking the piss Holz :P

Most deserving demon doesn't make the cut. Livid.
Oliver has been robbed.
Scully, Shiel, Bont, Gartlett, Jetta, Lynch, Treloar, Lever, Greene, Brown
I know some are in different positions, but none of these plus some of the others deserve a spot in the 40 over Oliver, Macrae, Duncan, Mcevoy etc.
Yeah Oliver very stiff as are a few others. So from the squad what team do you guys chose? Mine is

Pretty close I reckon
Ben Brown has to make it on the bench, was fantastic in a struggling side.
Dunno about Rance either, don't think he was as good this year as previous. Still solid, but not great all year but probably makes it as no other real alternatives except McGovern but he won't make it over Rance
One of Hibberd, Howe and Yeo misses I think, replaced by Brown
Couldn't believe Robbo had JPK as captain - wouldn't even be in my 22. Just because they were 0-6 isn't enough of a reason to make it out like it was all JPK
Guys, cmon, Matt Crouch!

Yeah I think Daniher and Brown are competing for 1 spot and could go either way. Yeo I put in as he's a hybrid but he could miss.
Rance gets marked harshly because his best is so good but still think he's been the 2nd best key defender this year.

Wasn't sure about the last two spots on the bench, could've gone to a number of players. Pity I couldn't fit all 8 in there ;)
