Title: Round 9 Trades
Post by: GoLions on May 15, 2017, 07:52:10 PM
For me I guess it depends what happens with Rocky, and I'd imagine most will be the same. Treloar should be back this week so that's a decent in for my mids :P

McGrath, SPS, SPP, Williamson are probably pretty close to being maxed out for me. Myers will be coming in, and Zerrett the other one most likely. Still have 260k from last week after doing just the one week and passing on Yeo (cost me about 70 points but I really wanted Zerrett this week aha).

If anyone already has the BEs for those rookies mentioned above, that'd be cool bananas :P

Cheers Dudgy! Pending teams, I can still hold SPP, and he should make a bit more cash at this stage with his 70 on the weekend, as opposed to the 57 from SPS.

Williamson to Myers via Berry gives me 380k all up

Then either SPS to Zerrett, or McGrath to Zerrett via Adams

Apparently Treloar is still in doubt so don't bank on that yet.

Otten to Lloyd

Not sure on other trade, guessing Rocky to Zerrett will be popular

I already have Merrett so I might need to get creative.

So 2-3 weeks for Rocky. Are people trading in DT or holding?

Yeah I've already traded him out after seeing his BE that high haha, looks good with Zerrett in my mids now though 8)

Freo in Perth is probably the perfect game for him. He is pretty quick and all that open space should see him be damaging. An 80 this week would be brilliant.

Thanks Ringo, I appreciate it.

So taking a stab at that.

Marchbank probably hits it.
Otten might if he plays back
Willow maybe but based on the last fortnight nup
EVW, Neman, Barrett and maybe Fisher hit it.
Parsons, Hannan and Butler probably don't.

Otten may not as ball will be in Crows forward line most of the game.
Title: Re: Round 9 Trades
Post by: Mat0369 on May 17, 2017, 11:30:56 AM
I meant to type that if Otten plays back he won't hit it. If Lever comes in and Otten goes forward he is a chance. He scores pretty well in the forward line but terribly down back.

Double down for me this week in preparation for the byes. Otten and Hannan out. Not sure who will come in yet, all depends who gets named.

If Rocky is out for 2-3 then it puts him in that really awkward time frame.  Do you hold him and hope he comes back in a week or two or trade him out knowing full well you're going to want him back later on anyway?

My plan this week was to go Butler > Myers (via DPP) and Otten to Lloyd but Rocky out has put a spanner in the works.  I still can do that, but it means Barrett fills in for Rocky and I have no cover on the bench (SPP and Balic being my other two).

GAH!

Could use 3 trades this week so with teams named have to change tack - Keeping Rocky and SPP.

So GHS to Myers and Butler to Greenwood early.

I have GHS as well. Im tempted to dump for Myers as well. But I have Balic so Its a hard decision.

Im waiting until the teams are names Cats v Dogs.

I wanted to dump GHS at his bye week.

Rocky > Zerrett
SPP > B. Hill to finish off my forward line

personally think anyone burning a trade with rocky is mad especially if you are in a cash league - if you are chasing league wins aside
Title: Re: Round 9 Trades
Post by: Chelskiman on May 19, 2017, 02:43:52 PM
My issue with holding Rocky is that I have to play both Barrett and Myers with no bench cover, and that could cost me.  Really not sure what to do as I know I'll be burning a trade, but at this stage of the season I don't think I can afford to drop major points.

I'm really leaning towards going Rocky > Zerrett.

Who's the best round 12 forward out of the following?

Missy
Caddy
Motlop
Nank
JJK
Waite

I've got the same dilemma. Leaning towards Missy. :-X Only the one score under 86.
Title: Re: Round 9 Trades
Post by: Mat0369 on May 19, 2017, 07:53:00 PM
I'm leaning towards Waite but that's pretty consistent from Missy. I'm happy to scrap Caddy and Motlop. Both don't seem to be near it consistent enough. Nank I feel is inflated from the Dees game where he was rucking against no one.

JJK is scoring ok but I kind of think he will be an almost there guy. He also played a team he beats up on against the Dogs traditionally so I'm holding off.

It leaves Missy and Waite. Waite's ceiling is huge. I don't think the others can touch him there. The worry is injury and suspension. Two things he has already dealt with. Missy has already missed a game as well and could get injured at any time. Waite should rocket in price so worst case if he gets injured he is easy to trade. I'm still not sure though.

i think Waite and Higgins are the best scorers but seems unlikely they play every game. When you take that into account a case for JJK is stronger. Definitely not Caddy or Motlop though :P
Title: Re: Round 9 Trades
Post by: Adamant on May 19, 2017, 08:09:05 PM
Waite does have a huge ceiling but he also throws in some absolute stinkers which is why he's never been elite in DT. Even after the massive start last year (108 average from the first 6 games) he still only finished with an average in the low 80s. He's just not a consistent 7 mark/18 disposal forward like an NRoo or TT Lynch.

If I was picking a more goal reliant forward it would be JJK but I had him late last season and he was pretty disappointing so I'm not going there again.

Higgo is playing in the guts every week which gives him a very low floor. I think he's in for his best season yet.

What Waite added to his game is the tackling. He ended up carrying a back/hip and his scores plummeted as a result. Missy is probably going to give us the highest floor and I have tried picking mids only in my forward line. I just feel gross trading him in though.

That's a good point about the tackling numbers and if you have a gut feel about Waite then I'd go for it. You don't win this game by playing it safe and worst case scenario he should make a bit of cash as you said.

I've gone full #yolo this week: Rocky > Higgins and Devon > Walters. I even had the cash to grab Yeo but I'm not touching him. :P

Maybe we can both live and die by the Higgins sword. He just needs to keep his high floor and throw in a couple of tons along the way. Screw it, I'm flipping a coin.

Macrae has had some slow starts so I he could come storming back in the last.

Yeah, stay away from Caddy.  I started with him and still have him and I wish I didn't.  Even when he has a good game he's only getting 80's.  He's only had the one half decent score of 95.
