Title: Round 5 Trades
Post by: Thunderbolts on April 18, 2017, 07:58:51 AM
Who's on the chopping block this week?

for those who kept Barrett - will he be back this week or a goner from your side?

Matera in and a rookie worth max 170 for Powell-Pepper and one of Hampton/Houston/Marchbank.

Not sure about these week.

Roughead looking to be gone. Just a matter if i go him to ANB, or Fisher from Carlton.

If ANB, then Nankervis will become Spencer to generate some cash. If fisher comes in then Nank can become Stefan Martin.

Not sure what ANB is going to do over next few weeks..

Glad, i got Neal-Bullin in week two now :)

How sold are you on Spencer's scoring potential? first game back and got 77 which included to goals to boost his score, although he did have 3FA so that couldve been 86.

Im in a similar position, ive got Nank in the rucks, but not sure what guys to go for this week. I think I need to chase Balic this week, so that's trade 1 through Roughead or Pickett. Second trade is between Nank -> Spencer or Stewart -> Williamson.

Now that I've wrote it out I think ive worked it out myself  ;D iit is probably worth more money waiting another week on Spencer as Nank should still make me some money where as Stewart might even lose money this week whilst Williamson is guranteed cash

Spencer was against Sandilands though... he only got 15 HO to Sandis 53. Sandi would be one of the hardest ruckmen to go agianst as an inexperienced rucker, so he should get more than 15HO in future games. You would want more than 11 disposals though. I feel like 75-80 will be his weekly score.

Want to trade Rough up to a mid premium. Hampton would be the best one to trade to achieve that but not a fan of the def rookies on offer (already have Williamson). In 2 weeks time I could probably do it because Hampton should gain mid status. Might have to cool my jets a bit and make some small ball trades.

Yeah i think 77 is a great score against Sandi.. Even if he can get 70 a week id take that... it nets me 130k and hes gonna score the same as Nank anyway... Both shower, but rucking solo theyll get 70 odd each week.

Nankervis hasn't set the world on fire with hit outs either. Will be interesting to see how they go head to head... Im holding on to Nankervis this week and will re-assess after this round...

Nanks break even is about 35 extra than Spencers, so if they score the same Spencer will be making more cash. Nank was on 40 5 minutes into 2nd quarter on weekend... Finished half time on 38... How the flower does that happen. I reckon Spencer will win way more hit outs this week. 35-40... Expecting a total of 75 but will be happy.

tentatively traded

c mills to williamson and b eddy to balic

teams a mess at present as far as rooks go, and mills had to go, he'll average a hundred for the rest of the season but a month of him is enough for me.

leaves me 250k in the bank and badly need a mid upgrade next week.

Yeh if i had the luxury id probably drop nank this week for spencer, but ive gotta bring in williamson and balic (for stewart and roughy/pickett). I think those two will make more this week that Spencer and either/or

Already have Balic, so Fisher is the only "rookie" that interests me. Fisher looks like he's a good prospect, but it pains me to have to pay over $200k for him :-\

You guys have got me thinking about Nank to Spencer though. Would seem likely to average similar and can pocket some money from the trade. Could then trade Rough to Lloyd who looks likely to be a Top 6-8 defender this year. Would mean I'd probably have to miss Fisher given he'd have another price rise.

Hope EVW gets the call up.

Hampton -> EVW
Berry -> Balic
Bank $214k

Hopefully next week I can turn SPP into Z.Merrett with one other cash grab.
Title: Re: Round 5 Trades

Yeah i dont have Williamson in defence and still have that spud Stewart sitting there. However i have Hampton on pine making good $$ still. Willamsons 47 on the weekend worried me, he could be very similar to Stewarts scoring. The positive about Nank to Spencer is it nets 130k and the same scoring output. Whereas Stewart to williamson nets you 6k, and Williamson may make another 70 or 80k and wont do it quick scoring 40s.

Also have picket i could trade. But Picket JS is decent and a low break even this week. Still 100% unsure what to do. If fisher was 60k cheaper it be an easy option.

I've blanked tbh

Probably go with Barrett to Fisher first as M9, then what? Rage trade Swallow? Watson? Nankervis? No idea aha
Title: Re: Round 5 Trades
Post by: NoButYeah on April 19, 2017, 10:55:16 PM
I can afford SPP to Murphy and Rough to Grundy by moving Nank forward.

Or I could just go Rough to any top mid via dpp and leave Nank in ruck and a downgrade for second trade.

Title: Re: Round 5 Trades
Post by: Huttabito on April 19, 2017, 11:21:51 PM
I've been thinking. Berry -> Balic is set in stone.

I have Martin/Witts in the ruck ATM and original plan was to hold him until his Rd9 and then bring in Grundy but Spencer might not be a bad option this week and then I can work around an upgrade for Swallow at the bye instead (rather than 1 up/1 down or build a warchest for double upgrade which might be hard with rookies coming through). Witts has a BE of 47 so still has some money to make but I want to bring in Merrett next week for Nankerivs via ANB. This trade gives me $199k in the bank and I will only need an extra 100k next week from Hampton or SPP. Think SPP will be better against Carl and Bris this week so would like to hold a little longer and want to see how EVW goes (if named) before downgrading Hampton.

Other than Pickett @ F8, I have a pretty solid line up so may have the luxury.

What are people's thoughts on Heath shaw, has a be of 116 and looks like he will get no where near it. I havnt watched much of the giants but clearly he isn't getting anwehere near as much of the ball, do I hold him and hope he fires up or move him on while he is still worth something, cheers

Tough call,  we know what the potential is. He should stay around the $500k mark so won't lose too much more and it's  almost too late. Depends a lot on the rest of the team. I would focus on getting the rookies right.

Go to Roberton/Lloyd if you're deadset on trading him (I picked out these 2 because it's pretty much a straight swap and they are averaging more).

I'll just go with Barrett and Stewart to EVW and Fisher, get rid of a non-playing rook and a spud to two hopefully good cash cows, and pick up a little cash on the side. Jobe, Swallow, Nankervis can wait at least one more week before I'll look to trade them.

Jeeezz

Newman, O'Meara, Barrett all left to fix up.

Thinking I might have to wait a week on O'Meara and Newman and hope they are named next week.

Getting rid of Stewart the spud to Williamson and maybe Barrett to Fisher?

At this stage have gone Hampton to EVW and Rough to Spencer (Nankervis into the forwards).

Would've liked to get in another premo this week but will wait until next week now I think.

I think i figured out a way to do this and I can maximise my points on the field.

Out SPP and Barrett

In Spencer (using Cameron) and Fisher

It leaves me with the following line up.

Adams, Doc, Marchbank, Hampton, Otten, Willaimson (Newman, Macreadie)
Rocky, Mitchell, Dusty, Pendles, Murphy, Beams, Oliver, Steele (Parfitt, Fisher)
Martin, Spencer (Cameron, Preuss)
Macrae, Miller, GUNston, Ryder, Hoskin-Elliott, Houston (Pickett, Eddy)

It means I can keep Parfitt/Pickett on the bench by moving Ryder forward.

EVW was completely abused by the Dogs in the last JLT game. I don't want him seeing the field and would rather Williamson. I can wait a week on Polson and do a cash grab/upgrade so I'm not stuck fielding spuds next week either.

He is, I just like Kelly better.

However, with the outs I'm changing that last trade. I don't want to see Williamson or EVW on my field, so I will be trading Nic Newman (Please don't be a late in!). I have $559,000 to spend and can go any position on the field to grab a player. That's what I'm thinking about doing right now.
Title: Re: Round 5 Trades
Post by: Huttabito on April 20, 2017, 09:19:11 PM
Well tonight's news has put a pickle in the plans. Have Got Newman (OUT), Berry (Spud) and Barrett (OUT) to deal with.

Berry->Polson can be a go but might be better to get rid of Barrett as Berry can at least redeem himself. 2 weeks out now for Barrett, especially after last weeks NEAFL performance isn't good news.

Don't want to get rid of Newman yet either. Awesome BE and may be back soon, would be very awkward to trade back in. Don't want to go EVW in defence just yet either. Also need/want ~200k in the bank to bring in Z.Merrett for Nankervis next week and I'll get the funds with one other rookie downgrade.

So, this leaves me two downgrade options. Will lose points for 1 week before the upgrade next week which will return with investment.
SPP -> Fisher
Witts -> Spencer

Both have pros/cons - Don't think I'm sleeping tonight.

Teia Miles -> Cameron Polson

Stewart, Pickett are still making cash, Miles isn't.
If Newman is a late in it'll bite me with all the lost cash, but that's the risk I'm willing to take. Roberton has a low BE and can hopefully stick it out as a top 10 defender :)
