Title: The Flaming Goats 2017
Post by: Rusty00 on April 11, 2017, 10:26:42 PM
Ok, after some help to turn my season around.

Scored a dismal 2102 in Round 3 and to drop down to 27,317 in the rankings. Weekly scores and rank below

Round 1 2191 (Overall Rank 21,673)
Round 2 2213 (Overall Rank 15,101)
Round 3 2102 (Overall Rank 27,317)

Def: Shaw, Simpson, Laird, Marchbank, Hampton, Otten (Stewart, Hibberd,)
Mid: Dangerfield, Treloar, JPK, Fyfe, Beams, O'Meara, SPP, Taranto (SPS, Barrett, Pickett)
Ruck: Sandilands, Witts (Strnadica)
Fwd: Dahlhaus, Franklin, Macrae, Higgins, Nankervis, WHE, (Houston, Eddy)

Just made the 1 trade thus far, GHS to WHE last week and have $107,800 in the bank.

I don't think my team is that bad but too many low scores from premos so far whilst guys like Adams, Pendles, Bont, Dusty are gunning it. In hindsight I really missed out getting Murphy last week.

Newman is definitely coming in this week, but not sure what else to do? I could simply go JOM > Swallow as he looks in much better form and playing a better scoring role? Or I could trade Taranto to Newman and still go JOM to Murphy or have I missed the boat on Murphy?

My problem is I don't have any other mid-pricers apart from JOM to manufacturer cash like others are doing so going JOM to Newman leaves me weak without enough cash to do anything meaningful.

I guess I could just go Hibberd/Pickett to Newman and bide my time but feel like I need to make some moves now or my season will be shot.

Any thoughts appreciated :)

I would definitely bring in Newman. He has a break even of -106! I would do Taranto -> Newman and JOM -> Murphy. Murphy is tearing it up and is never going to be this cheap again.

If Murphy scores 124 again this week he is predicted to rise a further $51k - You have missed the original $77k. Murphy has not been below 130 this year,
Swallow if he scores 86 predicted to rise $57k. Swallow still has a negative B/E so further rises expected.
At this stage if going Murphy he would have to be a keeper for you imo.
So decision for you do I get a keeper now or do a corrective trade to a player making cash in Swallow. Depending on teams I will probably be doing JOM to Swallow as a corrective trade.

If you can bring in MM you should do it IMO. I would if I could for Taranto but fall short by an agonising amount.... so getting Miller  instead.
As has already been said MM is still cheap. Won't be after this week.

Get Swallow - gives you cash, rather than chasing it
