Title: Second edition - All Stars
Post by: _wato on February 16, 2017, 01:06:04 AM
I deleted my other thread bc with JLT coming up I'm gonna stop posting my team updates in an aid to just keep things secret (just kidding, I accidentally wiped my other thread) but I'll still give some advice and what not over other teams and chuck us some structures that could be interesting.

This is my $10 mill $0 change team I just made, with NO danger or Gawn.

DEF: Adams, Laird, Hartlett, Scharenberg, Hampton, Ryan (Newman, Stewart)
MID: Ablett, Pendlebury, Fyfe, Rockliff, Selwood, Sloane, Treloar, Murphy (Myers, SPP, Cousins)
RUC: Lycett, Sandilands (Strnadica)
FWD: Dahlhaus, Gunston, McCluggage, Turner, Bowes, Black (Daicos, Eddy)

If Black was off the field and SPP on it I don't think it's that bad.

But what about my postcount. That's just plain selfish wato mate, smh.

I didn't mean to delete it GL, I was mucking around earlier and went to click on next at the bottom of the page, clicked on remove post by accident (it's hard on a showerty phone to hit the right button ahahah) and then didn't read it and said yes, thinking it was taking me to the next page, hence why I wrote laaaawl and made up that story as the caption of the post, didn't wanna look like a knob :-[

Stef is really the only one I could afford.... I'd never go with this structure though bc imagine Gawn and Danger as pod's

Haha yeah i figured, they could easily combine for 300+ some weeks, plus having one as C...oh baby.

But it's definitely good to try out different structures, as we'll probably be making plenty of changes once we have a better idea of rookies slowly leading into round 1 :)

Yeah on PS4 now. Last few weeks been putting plenty of hours into Dark Souls 3, but before that was playing cod4 remastered like every day ahaha. PS3 is just a media player now pretty much :P

With the mid rookie situation looking absolutely flowered right now I feel i've had to strengthen it some what.

DEF: Adams, Hodge, Hartlett, Scharenberg, Hampton, Vickers-Willis (Ryan, Stewart)
MID: Dangerfield, Pendlebury, Fyfe, Rockliff, Kennedy, Watson, Swallow, SPP (Bowes, Pickett, Cousins)
RUC: Gawn, Sandilands (Strnadica)
FWD: Dahlhaus, Gunston, Lycett, Roughead, McCluggage, Black (Daicos, Eddy)

I am actually pretty happy with this side but it's so risky. Look at that backline lol

Nice team to sit on till Rd 1. Think all are having problems with mid field rookies falling,
Title: Re: Team Risky
Post by: _wato on March 03, 2017, 01:08:29 AM
DEF: Adams, Laird, Murphy, Hampton, Vickers-Willis, Stewart (Hibberd, Newman)
MID: Dangerfield, Pendlebury, Fyfe, Rockliff, Jelwood, Beams, JOM, Swallow (SPP, Barrett, Wigg)
RUC: Goldstein, Sandilands (Strnadica)
FWD: Dahlhaus, Macrae, Higgins, Roughead, Schoenmakers, Black (Cameron, Eddy)

Next to no cash left. I'm happy with it but would rather Bob upgraded, more of a filler atm.

Swallow down and Bob up would be good if enough mid rookies pop up

Looks good!

Exactly. SPP on field, Swallow downgrade and then Bob to Prem defender.

Prem Defender (95) + SPP (75) v Bob (80) + Swallow (90)

Gain a keeper and more cash generation.

Not sure if SPP can average 75, not a noted possession gatherer.

Would not worry too much about Murphy when you look at Dogs draw.  Know projected scores are guess work but predicted average for first 10 Rounds is 103.1.  Even if drops to say 95 you would still take it.  He is priced at 72 so fair scope for price rise.

It's the fact that I don't genuinely see him as a keeper. I've been pretty much against him all pre season.
Cool if he plays all the way until his bye to sideways trade him but I don't see it happening. Will only play 16-18 games.

So i need to find a way to not hurt the structure too much and upgrade him.. Don't know what use downgrading him would be as it means i miss out on Swallow or JOM in the midfield (as I'd have spare cash to upgrade them and dunno where else I'd spend that $$$$

so many decisions !!!!!

Mate I don't like Murphy whatsoever but change that back to what you had originally and juggle things around to get Murphy to someone else.

Just my opinion

Not a fan of Howe? Could push a 100avg this season i reckon, prefer him to Adams atm

That is my only issue with Howe. Him, Adams and Laird all with the same bye.
And I would choose Adams over him any day of the week. Also worried that I'll have too many Pies boys. Currently have 3 and will probably get Treloar/Pendles (whichever I don't start with) later on on the year as my 4th.
Also seriously considering not starting Pendles but I'll chicken. I just can't find the funds anywhere right now to do what I want.

It's not that I don't like howe I just think there are better safer options at that upper price level.

As much as I love taranto(massive fan already the way he shrugged that big hit from Franklin and got back into it,WOW), you can't pick him over the security of swallow even with the price difference. I'm fine with picking Taranto in another position but downgrading swallow is not the answer given job security differences imo.

Yup downgrade pendles before swallow in this instance imo

Bob down and Swallow if you could... something could pop up... On second thoughts forget about Bob... Swallow looks a good pick.
Actually looks a really strong team. Same mids as me bar one. I have Bont, not Jelwood.
Strong fwds and backs.
Is Sandi a must? Maybe he is but if I bring him in I have a problem about what to do with 250-300k.

I've just moved Swallow out of the team and brought JOM to M8.

DEF: Adams, Laird, Howe, Marchbank, EVW, Hampton (Stewart, Otten)
MID: Dangerfield, Rockliff, Treloar, Fyfe, Watson, Beams, O'Meara, Swallow (SPP, Hibberd, Pickett)
RUC: Sandilands, Witts (Strnadica)
FWD: N Riewoldt, Dahlhaus, Higgins, Roughead, Nankervis, Taranto (Houston, Eddy)

$30k in the bank. Reasonably happy with this team. Any improvements?

Exactly,  no different to WHE or Taranto.   If he is sole ruck you can expect probably 70+ at a minimum from him which would give you 100k at end of week 6.    Where does the money come from to upgrade witts to Gawn/Goldy Grundy

With this rookie situation deplorable I've made a few changes. Gonna make or break me.

DEF: Adams, Laird, Howe, Jones, Marchbank, Hampton (EVW, Stewart)
MID: Dangerfield, JPK, Treloar, Fyfe, Beams, Steele, O'Meara, Swallow (SPP, Miles, Parfitt)
RUC: Sandilands, Witts (Strnadica)
FWD: Dahlhaus, Franklin, Higgins, Roughead, Nankervis, Turner (Pickett, Eddy)

All those rookies should play apart from my iffy D7. Happy with their JS and scoring potentials.

Premiums for position - Adams, Laird, Howe, Danger, JPK, Treloar, Fyfe, Beams, Dahl, Buddy, Higgins.

Great looking team. I can't really fault it. Think the justification for witts being the same sort of risk as any other 200k rookie is sound as well.

Nice Team Wato - Prefer Steele in forwards but not a bad selection.  Jones an interesting selection as well.

Just hoping rookies come up for you. SPP doubtful for Rd 1 but should play when fit.

Title: Re: Second edition - All Stars

Thanks lads. Think Jones will play that inside sweeping role so can be used as both an outlet with his speed or use his frame to bully the opposition on the inside.

Steele is in that spot so it gives me the opportunity to choose between SPP and Turner each week via Pickett.

Also, why is SPP doubtful?

I think so as well.

Hahaha I think he's a genuine good buy. Two hundreds in the JLT and a 55, still averaged out to a 90 average (could see him going 80-85 in the real stuff) so not terrible by any means. For $300k I'd take that, should rise to low to mid 400's and be ripe to swap with any defender who falls into that price bracket (could be a few imo)

MID: Dangerfield, JPK, Treloar, Fyfe, Beams, O'Meara, Swallow, Petrevski-Seton (SPP, Barrett, Parfitt)
RUC: Nankervis, Sandilands (Strnadica)
FWD: Dahlhaus, Lynch, Higgins, Roughead, Steele, Taranto (Pickett, Eddy)

Reckon Jones will do really well this year, especially over Thurlow.

I have to make a decision far out, bc Nank has to be locked into the rucks if i go WHE/Taranto. If I go Witts Nank plays forward.

I have a good feeling Witts will beat WHE, but it means i miss out on Barrett who I think can score well and has good JS.
