Sup yall! 8)
Trade rules:
- You can't go below $9,100,000 in total salary at any point in your trades
- You can go over $11,400,000 (the max), provided you cut it down in your list lodgement
- Trades can be any combination of players and picks
- You can trade priority picks, picks in the first 5 rounds of the International Draft, first 2 rounds of the preseason draft and first 4 rounds of the rookie draft.
Start date: Once I issue all the player salaries. It will be the latest date out of midnight of the conclusion of the Grand Final (28th August) or when I issue the salaries.
Finish date: 11:59:59 PM AEDST, Friday the 18th of November
Every Monday(ish) will put trades up for a vote.
List trades as:
Team X trades: Player Y + Pick Z
Team A trades: Player B + Pick C
The other team must then confirm the trade.
Please just list and confirm trades here! All talk should go to this thread:
WXV Trade Confabulation (http://forum.fanfooty.com.au/index.php/topic,107696.0.html)
Trade Voting
Every coach needs to vote, missing 2 votes consecutively will result in A LOSS OF A DRAFT PICK. So have your assistants in order. The first co-coach vote I receive will count, the second co-coach vote I receive will not.
- 0-3 votes is an auto-pass
- 4-5 votes passes the trade with the admin having the power to reject it
- 6-7 votes fails a trade with the admin having the power to pass it
- 8+ votes is an auto-fail.
You have a week to vote! However, this year I'll be trying to do 2 votes per week; one on Monday morning and another Thursday morning. This won't happen until about Week 3 or 4 of the trade period though, because we'll be more than busy in the first few weeks of mass trading. Lenience will be introduced if you miss the trade voting deadlines, as this is a trial.
I'll also be disclosing/quoting the reasons why you negged the trade (in a rejected trade) to the coaches involved (via PM), but omitting the authors of the negs.
This year, if I'm not satisfied with your reason why you negged the trade, I simply won't count it. If I feel it is out of being petty or the reason just lacks detail, I won't count it. If you feel strongly enough about a trade, the reasons should be apparent enough for you to articulate them into a couple of sentences.
Trade Etiquette
- If a coach trades a player that you inquired about without getting back to you, PM me with a quote of the message, and I will auto-neg it. It is then expected that the coach enter negotiations with an open-mind to the coach it previously didn't get back to, and once resolved, then the trade will be put back on for voting. Come on guys, this isn't hard and I get sick of it happening.
- Complain all you like (except don't) about the decision of a trade, it won't amount to anything. I got so sick of complaints last year, that I might just start deleting posts if I feel it will lead to a nasty discussion. I just don't have the time or endurance to put up with it anymore, get over it.
- If you have a genuine complaint, please PM me and we'll talk about it.
- FFS, don't complain about a trade decision (publicly). Just don't. Move on.

TRADE WINDOW IS OPEN
Dublin Trade: Sam Collins
New York Trade: Kayne Turner + Pick 51
Cap Reduction: $51,000
Reason: Sam Collins has looked good this year but i need fwds and have surplus backs so taking a punt on Turner. It also reduces my cap which is now a thing.
Dublin Trade: Dan Currie + Pick 54
Buenos Aires Trade: Kieran Collins + 49
Cap Reduction: $24,000
Reason: While Currie was looking to take over the ruck spot before getting injured i simply dont need him with Goldy Daw. In case people think im losing too much I really rate Collins as an AFL player, whether he is a good SC player or not i have no clue.
The pick upgrade is tiny but everything helps and the Cap Reduction is good i guess aswell
Christchurch trade: picks 9, 28
Seoul trade: Thomas Boyd
Reason: I'd take Boyd with 9 as a forward compared to this year's crop. The fact that he'll add ruck cover to Roughead makes him more valuable, hence the 2nd rounder added.
Dublin Trade: Marc Murphy + Pick 72
New Dehli Tigers Trade: Kieran Jack + Pick 55
Cap Increase: 36k :(
Reason: Ok so Marc Murphy has by far the higest upside and jack is in a decline scoring wise, but i have zero depth as it is and will likely have to cut it further because of the cap. So going with the guy who will more likely play 22 games and average 90 then the guy who could play 18 and average 100+

Yep confirmed.
Same age but Murphy is injury prone and Holz wanted someone more durable.
Cairo trade: Shaun Higgins
Christchurch trade: Koby Stevens, picks 46, 64, 82
Reason: I like Higgins' durability. Adding another forward to replace Joey is also favorable.
Rio De Janeiro trade: Robert Murphy
Christchurch trade: Matthew Boyd
Reason: with Higgo, Griff and now Bob it's clear to see that I'm just collecting my favorite players (and my former Moscow comrades)

Confirmed.
Koby's pretty much exactly what we need moving forward and is younger and better than Higgo ioo (that doesn't have the same feel as imo, smh). We (specifically Polo) like the late picks too (see: Hutchings, McGovern, Wills, McCarthy).
Cairo trade: Kamdyn McIntosh + Charlie Curnow
Seoul trade: Jack Newnes + Jason Castagna
Reason: We believe Newnes is a more solid long term option that Kamdyn and while Curnow's a really good youngster, we rate Castagna's potential and scoring ability just that bit.
JB to confirm.

Confirmed, getting a ruck set helps us out
NDT Trade: Scully + 2nd Round Nat
New York Trade: Houli + Balic + Fiorini
Houli is 29 nex year. Scully is just entering his prime
So we needed a little bit more. Which was Balic who went at 38 in last years afl draft
And lastly was Fiorini for a 2nd rounder and he went in the 2nd round last year.

New York trade: Nakia Cockatoo + Nathan Hrovat + Pick 33

Big trade to kick off our trade period and certainly help fix a positional problem we've had for years.
PNL Trade: Z. Williams + B. Stretch + N15 + N70
Tokyo Trade: P. Ryder + N4 + N41
We've always had ruck problems and grabbing Ryder will compliment Lobbe. Although both together can't score as highly as individually, better to grab both so at least we have a playing ruck next year. Zac had a great season and locked a spot down in the team, as has Stretch to a lesser extent. The pick swaps to account for the age differences and capabilities given their teams/competition within them.

Confirmed. My rucks stood up ok this year without Ryder & with Nic Nat out Lycett should only get better. My backline is my biggest weakness so Williams will definitely help with that & Stretch is handy depth.
Purps just going to revise trade 8 if we can please

Just wanted to express my appreciation to Rico and Ele because even though I hated the fact that we were trading Fiorini (I love him lol) we agreed to a deal and a deal's a deal, but for the boys to approach us and actually suggest that they give us their 1st rounder now and not their 2nd rounder, just shows how classy they are, and it definitely makes the deal much more fairer for both of us now because with JOM, Prestia and even Swallow possibly all going I expect Fiorini to cement a spot in the GC mids
As Rico said, we're giving up an older defender playing for a team we think is on the decline and getting a starting mid entering his prime playing for a team on the up, so we all agree this is fair and beneficial to both teams

Tough to let Tyson go but we've got enough mids - two (hopefully) handy M/F's. Like the ceiling of Cockatoo also.

Dublin Trade: Lance Franklin + Jarryd Roughead
Berlin Trade: Brad Crouch + Pick 27 + Pick 45
Cap: -619k
Reason: so here is my 1 monster deal, i sually have a few but this is the only 1. Ok so my midfield is high quality but i have no depth what so ever, lewis Jetta is my m6. So having a gun forward line is great but not if im playing it at u2. Franlin is an absolute machine and he is in AA form and given he has a long way left on his contract i expect him to be around for a long time and sydney are a top team so he should keep kicking bags. Roughy im very sad to let go but its purely for cap reasons i cant have a 430k sitting on my bench. I have done lots of research into his treatment and i think he has a good chance of recoving but my estimate is he comes back 2018.
buddy and crouch i rate similar with one a fwd premo and one a younger but injury risk mid. Think buddy is a better forward then crouch is a mid and injury risk cancels out the age difference. As i said its all about getting a mid. The picks are late enough that all the good players are gone but i could pick up a decent player with good drafting.

Dublin is sending pick 72 my way as well according to our last PM, so it's
Dublin Trade: Lance Franklin + Jarryd Roughead + Pick 72
Berlin Trade: Brad Crouch + Pick 27 + Pick 45
Brad Crouch... had him for 5 years, since the very beginning. This guy will be an absolute star, and I'm sad to see him go. But I... don't have any star forwards. And Buddy is just that. The Crouch heartbreak is offset by Buddy coming back to Berlin :D :D he was the first and original Brewer, and it will be great to see him put on the guernsey for the next 6 years 8)
Thought I'd take a punt on Roughy too... very high reward if he gets back.

I confirm i missed 72

Cairo give: Pick 39
Christchurch give: Sir Jefferson Garlett
Reason(s):
Quote from: meow meow on September 08, 2016, 02:31:59 PM
Jeff Garlett, the man who has kicked the 250th most AFL/VFL goals in history can move for a pick in the 30's. Jeffy had a pretty average year but has four 70+ seasons under his belt including a 78. Plays every week. Still has four seasons left in him. Melbourne improving = more goals.
Quote from: meow meow on September 08, 2016, 02:46:54 PM
And we have one bid in already from a very intelligent coach. Draft picks often result in nothing, you'll get a guaranteed return on Buddy's cousin.
Quote from: meow meow on September 08, 2016, 02:54:51 PM
Jeff was homeless before he was an AFL player. His junior coach used to feed him before training. Slept in his car. Inspirational player this one.
Quote from: meow meow on September 08, 2016, 03:42:56 PM
Garlett is also the nephew of Neon Leon, who peaked right at the end of his career. Jeffrey about to do the same.
Quote from: meow meow on September 08, 2016, 03:56:00 PM
Garlett averaged 100.5 from the first ten games one year. Haven't seen Scharenberg do anything like that, in fact all I've seen him do is his acl. Jeffy gets it done while these other chumps get by on potential and "will be a gun" for their whole careers.
Quote from: meow meow on September 08, 2016, 04:03:24 PM
Doing your acl isn't that impressive tbh.
250th best goal kicker of all time! Will rise to the top 200 by the time his career has finished. Semi decent? Pfft, Jeffy is a star and I should probably be asking for a premo mid in return.
Quote from: meow meow on September 09, 2016, 04:04:18 PM
1194th most games played, 250th most goals kicked of any player... ever!

98th most goals kicked for Melbourne.
2011: 48 goals
2012: 29 goals
2013: 43 goals
2014: 12 goals
2015: 40 goals
2016: 29 goals
I think it's safe to assume that Jeffy is going to kick 40+ goals next year since he's due.
Quote from: meow meow on September 09, 2016, 04:07:40 PM
Contracted for another 3 seasons. He will have just turned 30 at the end of that so a good chance to play for another couple after that too. 5 seasons of brilliance from an AFL star for a pick in the 30's? Bargain.

Conigs is a gun. At 22 he's averaged 106 and been a legit captain option (was going at 109 until the last 2 rounds). At his age and quality, there's basically 8 years of scoring around that mark
Gray is 29 next year, so obviously a lot less 100+ years left
So we needed more to even it up.
Sheed is coming along slowly but Ele likes his Eagles boys.
Clarke + Hannath gives Moscow the Freo rucks who aren't ancient. Sandi has a year left and Griff is 31 next year. So that leaves Clarke and Hannath (if Clarke doesn't want to go to another team, which will probs be better for Moscow).
Partington was our early 2nd rounder from last year

Confirmed. We like picks and need to build up some depth and youngsters on our list given the ages of some of our older guys. Giving up Westy who's a reliable forward is a big cost (especially to Dublin which many won't like) but he did have the best offer in the end. Dublin Trade: Heath Grundy + Neville Jetta + Josh Bruce
London Trade: Josh Schace + Dan Nielson
Reason: Well basically it was cap space, I was struggling to get under the cap and Schace is cheap at 129k. Heath Grundy is a starter for me and if Yarran is missing he is my D3, but was pricey for the cap. basically goes 77 every year and only just turned 30.
Jetta is a really good player and was starting to turn into a decent fantasy cover, he was my D5 so all this hype up around Omac needs to be valid or im in trouble.
Bruce i targeted on a down year, i think he will take over Nroo role and makes total sense for London as they have Membrey.
Schace im pretty certain will be a good AFL player but not sure if he will be a good fantasy player. He will take time till we see if he has fantasy potential, so hopefully Westhoff can stay around untill that occurs (or Matt Kennedy break out)
I have Hansen and Vicker-Willis so Nielson is another North add i have last on the pecking order but might as well get all 3 defenders who can take Firrito's spot.

Obviously Hanley is a really good player and had a down year, but his best is quality and his ceiling is pretty decent so he provides Ada a good option to replace JZ. Love Dunstan as a player but need a defender and Smith should be D/M and possibly a future midfield who'll be as good as if not better than Dunstan.
Cape Town give: Darcy Parish + N7 + Billy Longer
PNL give: Sam Naismith + N4 + N27
Fun fact of the day, it is really hard to get rucks these days :P
HP and Daz were willing to part with Naismith who we see as a 70-75avg best 22 ruckman, and that was the first priority since taking over the Kate Upton Cobras. Also get a nice pick upgrade to land one of the big 4, and also think we can get someone decent with 27, and happy to lose Longer to balance out the deal :)

my Naismith love is massive and i reckon he will/has the potential to really lift his scoring with a full pre season and a full injury free year (something he has not had yet in his career)
butt hen again both HP and i are bombers supporters so the parish love is massive too
difference is we are really lacking in the mids so works better for our team needs
longer who HP and i like but lost his spot to hickey is there to help keep our rucks stocks in tact with 2 older ruckman on our books

We like late picks and were probs gonna delist Batch. Palmer's been available of trade period for whatever anyone was willing to offer. We're also gonna have to take like 4 rookie picks or something so getting an upgrade is a-okay with us.

Belly's JS and fwd status over Clarke, plus Rosa a 30 year old 80 avg, good young prospect in Graham who we both rate and 37 for 28 year old Arma who we see as a 90+ mid balances it all out and Moscow finally get a starting ruck to cover while NN is out

Dublin trade: Joel Selwood + NAT Pick 50 + NAT Pick 86 + NAT Pick 90
New York trade: Tom McDonald + Daniel Menzel + Jack Trengove + NAT Pick 44
Jelwood being one of the elite mids of the comp means we had to pay up to get a genuine captain option
TMac averaged 96 in 2015, started a little slowish in 2016 but from Round 8 to 23 (15 games) averaged 99. Just turned only 24 last month with back to back 90+ averages and hasn't missed a game so we value him extremely high as a defender (And we paid a lot for him last year too). For his age group, only Docherty is worth more
Menzel has had his injuries, but it looks like he has finally turned things around playing most of 2016 for an average of 82 which is starting quality for WXV
Trengove should be given an opportunity and the picks just ensure it's a 4 for 4 deal to keep team numbers in balance
We get a quality captain and Dublin get's two young starters

Holz to confirm
Confirm.
I had two weaknesses D4, F4 and as a result D5, F5
Selwood is a legend and there will be a big post on him. The most famous Dublin player ever.
Tmac Solves the D4 issue and it means if yarran misses ill be ok, my bench is very very strong with Weits and Omac who are probably a year away from being starters.
Forward had major issues with Daw on field, menzel is high risk high reward. He misses and im playing Daw like i was anyway. He plays and i might have a 85 F4.
Selwood averaged 116 in the second half of the year getting used to Danger i think he will go 115, and be a perma captain but so to will Goldy, Treloar. Kieran Jack shouldnt rot on the bench.
Trengove and the pick upgrade helps my mid bench.
DUBLIN trade: Dan Menzel + 33 + 44
berlin trade: Stephen Hill + 49
Reason: while i need menzel and this could hurt me bad, my goal was always to have such a solid mid it could cover any weakness. Hill adds that cover so i shpuld always have 6 gun mids.
The picks hurt as i was hoping to pick up a guy i rated top 15 with that pick.
Big 3-way trade!
Cobras trade: Billy Smedts + PSD24
Cobras get: Lachie Hansen
Dublin trade: Lachie Hansen
Dublin get: N47 + PSD24
PNL trade: N47
PNL get: Billy Smedts
Depth and pick swaps. I couldn't do them in two separate trades cause of the cap #scrapthecap
Holz and Daz/HP to confirm

Daz likes Smedts even before he moved and could help his production at blues. We may not have used 47 so don't mind unloading it to grab a guy we like.

Confirmed. I think I've got enough quality depth on every line now to really challenge next year. I'm now finally content with my forward line.

Levi was looking for a 90+ mid and we were looking for a defender to replace TMac
Grigg a lot more proven, but Tarrant being def makes it even
Dublin: Rookie 34 + PSD24

Correct trade is:
Dublin: Rook 34 + PSD 24
Rio: PSD 18
Toronto Trade: Rookie Pick 38
Rio Trade: Cam Pedersen + Rookie Pick 72
Pedersen takes up a ton of cap for some reason. Probably cause he is a 70ave gun forward and will help the Wolves to top 8 next year.

Toronto give: Riley Bonner + PSD20
Buenos Aires give: Richard Douglas + N67
