Title: 2016/2017 Trade Discussions
Post by: LF on July 25, 2016, 07:09:33 PM
Well we are almost to that time of the year again when Tdog goes wild with trading haha
Let the discussions begin,I'm sure the new coaches are keen to do some trading and make their teams their own.

Roswell will do a list review soonish off the top of my head tho we'd be after a starting defender and are keen to improve our ruck stocks.
However I can say that Lachie Neale and Jack Steven are going nowhere

Yep. I may consider a trade or two   ;D

I'm gonna be clearing out a lot of the list this offseason so pretty much everyone will be available for the right price. Do note that some will be a lot harder to obtain than others though.

If you've traded with me previously you know that no one is off the table as long as they're for the right price. At this stage the priority will be me acquiring midfielders.

I'll trade Tom Rockliff for a range of different things

However I suggest a deal would need to include
(something decent) + 85+ average mid + a first round National draft pick
or
Multiple first round nat picks + other later national draft picks

Remember you don't just get one Rocky you get two

Happy trading :P

Just thinking out loud here, should we open up the thread for posting confirmed trades now?

What generally happens from past experience is we wait for the season to end etc and then discuss rule changes and confirm draft positions per final ladder position. But the reality is that there are many trades done prior to this anyways. Ruling of the trade can still happen after everything is official.

As far as I'm aware of, once the (Americas, not AFL) finals series has concluded, then the trading period starts. If people are that keen then I have a couple ideas on how we can speed up the process which I'll run through LF.

So on my team page I have added a 2016/17 off season link complete with a full list of who I'm willing to trade or not. That is as follows:

I desperately would like to keep this legend:
Jack Viney, Sam Mayes

I would prefer to keep him:
Callum Mills, Cameron Sutcliffe, Hayden Crozier, Jack Darling, Jack Silvagni, Jacob Weitering, Josh Caddy, Lachie Weller, Nick Vlastuin, Patrick McCartin, Toby Nankervis, Tom Bell

I'm open to trading him, but I wouldn't mind keeping:
Ben Keays, Ben Newton, Billy Evans, Bryce Gibbs, Cameron Guthrie, Connor Menadue, Corey Gault, David Zaharakis, Ethan Hughes, Jack Riewoldt, Jason Tutt, Jay Kennedy-Harris, Jordon Murdoch, Josh Gibson, Josh Prudden, Josh Saunders, Lukas Webb, Marc Pittonet, Mark Baguley, Matt de Boer, Matt Rosa, Matthew Lobbe, Mitchell White, Nick O'Kearney, Rhys Stanley, Riley Bonner, Robbie Gray, Ryan Bastinac, Stephen Hill, Taylor Duryea, Tom Sheridan, Travis Boak, Zac Webster

I would prefer to trade him:
Jack Hombsch, Jarrad Waite, Mitch Clark, Mitch Hallahan, Sam Butler, Sam Reid (SYD)

I desperately would like to trade this stupid idiot:
Lewis Jetta

Yeah it's not happening I replied to the pm Nostra sent explaining why, there is also other stuff to be done before a trades confirmation thread is even thought about.
You have to wait in the other comps as well, after finals as we did last year is fine.

Trade period 2 will run through that period but we had no trades done at all during that time last year and we keep it open but all rulings from a certain date just before Xmas until after New Years we won't be ruling on trades due to work hours and family stuff so it's all good there anyway :)
Our Nat draft usually starts immediately after the AFL draft is done and usually the rookie draft will start straight after Nat draft is finished  but we may delay that slightly this year but it won't run into Xmas or next year

Eric Mackenzie, Rory Thompson, Sam Shaw, Nic Newman, Jimmy Toumpas, Josh Green, Patrick McKenna, Mitch McGovern, Lachie Hansen, Ed Vickers-Willis, Ben Sinclair, Matthew Kreuzer, Tom Derickx, Rohan Bewick, Luke Russell, Mattew Dick, Ben McKay

Willing to trade any of these guys for some draft picks. Obviously some are better than others meaning more/better picks will need to be offered

Pretty sure it's out. So for example:

Team A is trading Player A and Player B
and
Team B is trading Player C

Then that would be 2 moves for Team A and 1 move for Team B.

We haven't had this problem before because beforehand it was always 1 for 1 or 2 for 2 trades etc., so it didn't matter then.

This draft linked below is why a cap was bought in and why it includes draft picks in the movements and why picks will be included as a movement

So it is being counted to try and make people accountable for trading?

Just to play devil's advocate though, if each trade is deemed fair and reasonable then wouldn't this process do the same thing?

No it's so teams don't trade all their players for picks and end up in trouble with no playing depth etc to cover them for injuries or anything else that pops up for fantasy coaches.
When one coach trades out 13 players for picks,we had slightly smaller lists then as well, then you have to put the foot down somewhere. And we can already see that the same coach is possibly doing the same now this trade period.
Your team unfortunately was mismanaged by the previous coach who was also one of the ex admin by not trading to improve it and wanting hand outs all the time.
Pk took over his team in the off season which finished bottom the previous year and traded hard to get it up to making it more competitive and has made the top 8 this year as well on the back of 20 movements.

That's what I meant.

But if someone was trading OUT players for picks wouldnt that count as a movement as per Atto's example above?

Yes it counts as a movement any trades done count as a movement unless you are on trading either a player or a pick then that won't count as one, last trading period on trading was included as a movement but we lifted that one.
It's basically the same trading system as Euros but picks aren't counted there which is fine because there are only 10 movements there we have double that here so should be more than enough to cover player and pick movements.
And no one has yet used every single movement in trading the most used last trading periods was 15

Who was that coach... I find it hard saying that I ended up in trouble with no playing depth to cover injuries a bit of a joke that
Rocky, Ablett, Suckling, Mitch Robbo, Grigg, Adams all missed parts of this year and I would say I covered this considering I am a chance for minor pramiership still... If I can use all my trade movements that I have left for picks what is wrong with that?

That's fine if you do that no one said you can't but this discussion is about not having draft picks included as a movement if you care to read back in the thread and trying to explain to a new coach why this was bought in and why it's not being changed.

Probably a stupid question but is the cap of trade movements players going in or players going out?

Pretty sure it's out. So for example:

Team A is trading Player A and Player B
and
Team B is trading Player C

Then that would be 2 moves for Team A and 1 move for Team B.

We haven't had this problem before because beforehand it was always 1 for 1 or 2 for 2 trades etc., so it didn't matter then.

OK. So quick question about this as it doesnt make sense sorry.
In this scenario how does Team A on-trade?
Shoudnt it be 'trade in' = movment?
Title: Re: 2016/2017 Trade Discussions

Team A and B trade player X and player Y that's a movement each

Then Team B turns around trades player Y to team C counts as a movement for team C

It's the same as Euros where on trading has been happening for awhile

That isnt the example Atto used sorry. And that is trade in is a movement not the player traded out.
Title: Re: 2016/2017 Trade Discussions
Post by: Rids on August 04, 2016, 02:42:04 PM
Example:

Team A trades Player Bob
Team B trades Player Bill

Movement for Team B is Bob in.

Then Team B on trades Bob to another team.

Movement becomes 0.

The way Atto has described it is the opposite.

Movement for Team B is Bill who is now in Team A.
Team B cannot on trade Bill as they dont own him.

In British it is:

I trade Player A to Rids (1 movement for me as I am trading a player out)
Rids trades me Player B (no movement for me as I am trading this player in)

I then trade Player B to LF (no movement for me as Player B wasn't in my team during the season)
LF trades me Player C (no movement for me as I am trading this player in)

Is this how it is working here as well?

Title: Re: 2016/2017 Trade Discussions
Post by: Atto on August 04, 2016, 06:55:10 PM
I'll use GL's example:

In the first step, both GL and Rids will use one movement each because they are both getting rid of a player that the coach had during the season.

In the second step, only LF will get a movement counted (assuming Player C is a player LF had during the season). GL won't get a movement counted for the stated reason.

I hope that clears it up. (I'm pretty sure that these are correct.)

El Paso News Flash  :o

Even though this seasons semi finals have not been played yet, El Paso must announce that it will be ceasing all trading activity in next years players until much later. A short sharp and very active period of trade talks has left us with just 3 trade movements to go.    ;D

El Paso List Manager Mr D. Tog had this to say when asked if he agreed with this action being taken by Team Management....
..." To be responsive at this time, though I will simply say that, as I said - and therefore this is a repeat of what I said previously - that which I am unable to offer a response is based on information available to make no such statement. Though we did trade very hard and we did trade very early."

Wow -  they are very big words from the team list manager indeed. Needless to say a new look El Paso Team will hit the boards when the trade period officially gets under way. Be Afraid..Be Very Very Afraid.    8) ;D

Why on earth would you trade Dangerzone?? O.o
Why don't people look out for me when I say I'm trading Rockliff haha

Because you came second instead of second to last.

with trades I'm currently open to any teams that have some defenders up for sale, will be looking over everyones team this week to send out some offers. Cheers

With NicNat's ACL going snap, a national day of mourning has been declared in Hawaii. What makes this even worse was that Hawaii were bundled out of finals the week prior, so in reality there was zero need for NicNat to be playing.

On a related note, this previous post is now void.

Players in Orange involved in a trade, you can make an offer if you like but pretty much a done deal.

Just over 24hrs until trade period officially opens,I expect quite a few trades posted straight away, just be a little patient with us in regards to approving them all.
Any discussion on trades posted should be done in this thread to try and leave the other one just to posting actual trades so none get lost amongst a heap of other posts also at least wait until trades are confirmed before discussing them and as per usual any official objections to any trades, please pm myself and Atto

Realised I haven't actually posted any kind of list here yet, oops.

Basically, everyone is available for the right price but there's a few blokes I'm pretty much set on keeping unless I get an offer I can't refuse.

Probably won't move:
Matthew Boyd, Aaron Sandilands, Joel Selwood, Jarryd Lyons (mid/fwd), Jack Gunston, Bachar Houli

Need a good offer:
Tom Nicholls, Brandon Ellis, Luke Shuey, Nathan Fyfe, Brad Crouch Cale Hooker (def/fwd), Jasper Pittard, Matthew Wright (mid/fwd), Aaron Young, Mark Lecras, Justin Westhoff, Tom Hawkins, Eric Hipwood (def/fwd), Nick Haynes, Jake Lever, Shane Kersten

On the table:
Tom Downie, Archie Smith, Jeff Garlett, Corey Gregson, Liam Sumner (fwd/mid), Paul Ahern (fwd/mid), Josh Walker, Wylie Buzza, Jared Polec, Ben Jacobs (mid/def), Heath Hocking, David Mackay, Jarrad Grant, Kane Mitchell, Jake Melksham, Cameron Shenton, Steven Morris (def/fwd), Dylan Grimes, Nathan Wilson, Clay Cameron, Nathan Wright

RIP:
Sam Fisher, Max King, Ryan Crowley, Ryan Davis, Matthew Pavlich, Jock Cornell, Michael Close, Declan Hamilton (mid/fwd), Liam Dawson, Aiden Corr, Cameron Delaney, Alex Johnson, Daniel Merrett

Bumping this because a month later I think I've only had one DT Americas related discussion and it seems like everyone else has used up half their movement already.  :P

I'm pretty flexible towards the above, so a lot of the "need a good offer" crowd can move for the right deal.

Kinda looking to strengthen my F4/D4 and interchange, happy to sell picks if I need to as well.

About to hit a pretty busy period for myself in real life, so if anyone wants to do a deal today is the best day to try get it done.

Anyone looking for defensive depth/definite potential starters

Garrick Ibbotson: Scored 132 in round 23
Ben Reid: Averaged 74, coming into his prime at 26 years of age
Ricky Henderson: Averaged 79.7 so can definitely score, might be seeking a trade this off-season from the Crows
Harry Taylor: Was 70s last year, dropped off this year but good depth nonetheless
Easton Wood: Much more an SCer but still has an average of 70 flat with a handy five scores above 80, four of those in the 90s.

Anyone looking for good young midfielders, might not come cheap though!

Mitch Wallis:  Averaged 90 last season and 82 before snapping his leg. High potential kid who will be in his prime when he returns, snag yourselves a cut-price jet.
J.Steele, J.Lonergan, J.Thomas, J.Gresham, K.Lovell, L.Partington, J.Barrett, N.Drummond: Feel free to make offers, but its unlikely given I see potential in all these boys. No harm in inquiring though!
Nick Suban, Mark Whiley, Nick Robertson: Suban might get traded by Freo, but I'll probably take picks for these blokes.

Anyone looking for potentially startable forwards

S.Higgins: Been a tease for some time, but can pump some big scores. In that 75-85 average range and should get more freedom with the North retirements.
A.Fasolo: Teases in a similar manner to Higgins. Averaged 81 last season, 75 this season without injury affected matches.
J.Stringer: The PACKAGE has had a tough season, might be the cheapest he will ever be!
B.Lennon: Traded in real life for more chances.
B.Kennedy: Former first round draft pick that averaged 70ish in his first season at his new club. Will only improve now.

Hit me up boys, always keen to nut out a trade or ten.

We are either after a depth mid or pick/s.

Def: Claye Beams, Dillon Viojo-Rainbow, Jackson Nelson, Kaiden Brand, Patrick Ambrose, Sam Frost, Cameron O'Shea, Michael Talia, Alex Pearce, Jaden McGrath

Fwd: Levi Casboult, James Stewart, Blake Hardwick, Karl Amon, Malcolm Karpany

Well, with that last trade I think I've used all my movements and (by complete fluke) I have the perfect list size (using rookie pick 43 will be fun) so I have to say Hawaii are closed for business now!

Feel free to hit me up, but I no longer will be actively seeking out trades for the short-term at least!

Bring on the drafts, I wanna use R43!

Brad Hill, Daniel Menzel, Patrick Ambrose, Jarman Impey, Sam Frost, Cameron O'Shea, Jackson Nelson, Kaiden Brand, Andrew Moore, Jacob Townsend, Charlie Dixon, James Stewart, Karl Amon

As always, if anything catches the eye then flick Nostra and I a message.

Cheers

The above look like being rejigged, so to be fair to all enquiries, the above needs to be adjusted. Awaiting conformation from Admin re picks & a new offer will be posted.

Scorpions are offering the following picks, ND #29 + ND #41 for a lower pick 2 for 1, in the ND draft, as will only be drafting 3.

Have the following in RD #10 + RD #17 + RD #29 + RD #34 available for a lower pick 4 for 1 in the RD draft.

Chuck a PM if interested.

Currently in the process of updating the H-Bombs team thread. Heading back to the trade table after a number of dpp changes went against us. Looking for a D4 or F4, open to anything.

Prepare your inboxes ;)

Will open trade period 2 up after the last picks in the rookie draft are done
Just a word of warning as this is a very busy time of year, trades will take longer to process and keeping with last year no trades will be ruled over the Christmas and New Years period for family and work reasons

Hey guys, willing to put Marc Murphy, David Armitage or potentially another midfielder on the table in order to land a forward or a defender. Willing to negotiate and keen to use up my final movement.

Hit me up :)
