That will be Round 23 :P

Port Adelaide vs Melbourne @ Playford Alive Oval.
Thursday March 10th.

Call this far-fetched, but I'm hoping we start out with three consecutive +100 wins (Saints, Dangerfieldless Crows, & Essendon (hoping it takes some time for Woosha to have an influence))
I don't think that is too much to ask :P
My more realistic prediction... Dixon to score 4-6 in at least one of the first 4 games *crosses fingers
It will not happen against Dempster/Fisher or Talia, but hopefully the Bombers will not mark him down or the Giants don't sic Patfull onto him

That's probably just a tad ambitious..

We can dream can't we :P
Honestly, if Dixon gets 40 goals and plays at least 20 games, I'll be happy with his season :)
I'll take 10 full games and 25 goals.
I'm not liking these expectations, it is one of the things that led us to our demise in 2015.
We'll be right, Charlie will be the decoy, and Sargent will kick 65 ;D
So this is approaching fast, any guesses on the 22 for the match? I read McDermott's best 22 in the paper and just took it with a grain of salt. The bloke named Ollie Wines twice, hasn't named our 2nd best backman (Trengove at CHB), and on the Crows side seems to think Taylor Walker is FF and Jenkins is a CHF ;D
My guess:
B: Jack Hombsch, Alipate Carlile, Matthew Broadbent
HB: Hamish Hartlett, Jackson Trengove, Jasper Pittard
C: Sam Gray, Brad Ebert, Jared Polec
HF: Robbie Gray, Justin Westhoff, Matt White
F: Chad Wingard, Charlie Dixon, Jay Schulz
1R: Matthew Lobbe, Travis Boak, Ollie Wines
Bench: Tom Jonas, Jarman Impey, Brendan Ah Chee, Karl Amon
Emerg: Dougal Howard, Jimmy Toumpas, Nathan Krakouer
Toumpas or Krakouer (Or even Kane Mitchell) could come in for Amon for that final spot. Dougal Howard will only play if another tall (Preferably Lobbe) misses. No chance Hoff, Schulz, Dixon, Lobbe and Howard play in one team along with the 4 tall backs. Byrne-Jones was close a couple of times to getting a game last season, maybe he could make a late charge too.
Seems right.
I personally prefer to see Ebert on the wing. He's an elite winger, however in the centre he just makes too many errors.
I think Toumpas has done enough this pre-season to get a spot on the interchange for round 1, probably will have to wait until round 3 though (I was really impressed with what I saw from him in the 2 NAB games - I think he will be a trading steal in retrospect) - tough to fit him onto the field though, shows promise on the wing and half-back flank and we already have better (i.e. most prominent) players filling those roles.
Fantastic side on paper, hopefully they can deliver their potential this season and take full advantage of the favourable early fixture :)
From the AFL Website.
B: Jack Hombsch, Alipate Carlile, Jarman Impey
HB: Matthew Broadbent, Jackson Trengove, Jasper Pittard
C: Hamish Hartlett, Travis Boak, Sam Gray
HF: Justin Westhoff, Charlie Dixon, Robbie Gray
F: Jake Neade, Jay Schulz, Chad Wingard
Foll: Matthew Lobbe, Brad Ebert, Ollie Wines
INT: Matt White, Tom Jonas, Brendon Ah Chee, Jared Polec
The jury is still out as to whether Jimmy Toumpas can make it at AFL level, and as a result he will have to prove he deserves to be included in Port's first-choice 22. However the former No.4 draft pick displayed some encouraging signs during the NAB Challenge and Power coach Ken Hinkley will be keen to give the ex-Demon opportunities. Jake Neade has had a strong pre-season and appears to be in the right age demographic to take the next step with his football as a nippy small forward. Losing Patrick Ryder will hurt, and Charlie Dixon or even Jackson Trengove will be called on to relieve Matthew Lobbe in the ruck. - Ben Guthrie
So one different to what I had above because I forgot Jake Neade :-[ I think that seems about right as a best 22 at this stage.
