Title: Rivalry Round Thread
Post by: Football Factory on August 13, 2015, 07:44:42 PM
In 2016 we will have a Rivalry Round (not decided as to what round it will be yet)

If you have a rivalry or want to make one  :o   ;D please post in this thread.

Please try to make rivalries with teams of similar scoring ability.

RIVALRY ROUND

1. Roswell Aliens vs Calgary Fireflies
2. Arizona Scorpions vs El Paso Alpacas
3. Dallas Coyotes vs Hawaii Hydro Bombs
4. Springfield Isotopes vs Vancouver Titans
5. Washington Senators vs Bolivia Condors
6. Nicaragua Survivors vs Los Angeles Kings

I like the idea of 1 vs 2, 3 vs 4 etc on the ladder at the round picked for Rivalry rd. No easy games then due to poor predictions.

Nah I want to be able to pick rivals
Like it could be Roswell and Calgary stemming from the first Grand Final.
Or say one team has beaten you a couple of times by a small amount of points every time
Stuff like like that
Teams are more even now than last season anyway, just some got hit more by injuries than others.

Think it will be better picking them or we may aswell just not have one, don't like the idea of a set round fixture based off ladder position.

Im hoping coaches will try to make rivalries with teams that they will have good battles with. Teams will improve along the way and other teams might start to struggle so we might see some mismatches in the future but hopefully wins/loses will even themselves out over time.

I like that, played in the GF last year both missed our best players for a lot of the year and are playing finals again. I'd be up for the fight

Ok then I guess it's Roswell and Calgary
Now we can name a cup we can play for

I was thinking ... Arizona vs El Paso

El Paso beat us in the 2014 semi final

Arizona and El Paso are fairly close to each other ..509 kms   ???

Arizona points for 2015 - 27519

El Paso points for 2015 - 27319

We could play for the ...Cactus Cup

El Paso finished 5th ..Arizona won the minor premiership but imo we really should have finished around 4th ?

I may be a little prickly, but getting to the point El Paso is the capital of Cactus. Bring it on   ;D

I know where no where near each other on the ladder, but I would suggest Dallas v Hawaii. The first encounter, Dallas won by a very close 14 points. The second encounter, Hawaii got its revenge in another thriller, downing the Coyotes by only 18 points. It's 1 all, who will get the lead in the re-match of the Summer? (I said summer because it's summer in America.)

But yeah that's my suggestion.

Seems alright to me, Dallas had the second most points scored against and scored more points than 6th so they could have had a better year.

Yeah Vancouver look like a team that matches up well against the Topes. We have some history too and went 1-1 this year with similar winning margins.

I dare say Bolivia shouldn't be left with Nicaragua, so flip the coin between LA and Washington. Any takers??

LA's team submission was a little poor this year and if you add bonus points for score submission that they never got they are a lot closer than you think.

I would be leaning towards... Nicaragua vs LA
