Some really exciting match-ups here to open up the 2015 Champions League. A lot of teams starting to hit top form with big returns such as Gary Ablett, Tom Rockliff and Jimmy Bartel returning to bolster some lineups. On the contrary some big outs like Bryce Gibbs, Joel Selwood and Dylan Shiel just to name a few. Teams on the rise teams on the decent. Pretty much every team will be facing a team they won't have seen before and this element of mystery will be what will worry some coaches. The quest to be the best has begun!
Standard naming of teams with 4 Defenders, 4 Midfielders, 1 Ruck, 4 Forwards, 2 Interchange and 3 Emergencies. Full lockout on Friday Night. Name a captain and VC. Any questions post below.
Don't we just named the same team in the same format as we do for our normal comp?
Like in BXV we have a C,VC and EVC plus a named sub.

Yep. How does the named sub work though?
Comes in for our lowest scoring player regardless of if they were subbed out or not
The graphics... my god, my eyes! So epic!
Love it Lev, looks absolutely fantastic.

Oh that sounds cool but I think it we might just keep it to sub rule if people are in favour?
So if a player starts as sub or gets subbed out in the first half then they will be replaced by an emergency.

Isn't this why we have the multiplier though? So we can just name our regular teams.

Pendles vs Pendles
Thought I should clear this up as I've been getting a few PM's about it:
In your group there are 4 teams and you play against each of the other 3 teams over AFL Rounds 16, 17 and 18.
After/During that time there will be a mini-ladder formed using just the 4 teams from your group and after the 3 weeks the top 2 teams from your group will advance to the knockout rounds.
Lose in the knockout rounds and your out.

Yeah pretty much. I just thought I'd give people an option if they wanted to name a different team.
Yeah we also have 4 emergencies in BXV and Euros
So I think just naming our teams as per how we do for our particular comp is probably the best.
what about AXVIII comps? :(

Also I'm hoping that Thomas does get a late call up tonight, otherwise it's Lumumba who plays. :)

I may have made a mistake or 4 so let me know if you see one.
Reindeers in a thriller
Paris Nice Lyon Reindeers(1483) Defeated Belgian Bashers(1482.89)
Final Scores: (http://oi62.tinypic.com/vfv52r.jpg)
Holy moly! What an excellent way to kick off the Champions League! A match that went right down to the wire with the Reindeers getting up by just a faction. It came down to Wingard VS Sam Jacobs and Wingard just got the better, outscoring big Sauce by 2 to secure a fantastic win for PNL.
Tigers Roar to solid start
UAE Tigers(1614.38) Defeated Swansea Breakers(1367.67)
Final Scores: (http://oi57.tinypic.com/30ca7vs.jpg)
The UAE Tigers showed their dominance in their first match disposing of the lifeless Breakers in convincing fashion. Swansea only had 3 tons and that will concern them if they have any hope of moving further along in this tournament. On the contrary UAE had 13(SB) tons. Wow.
Mexico City show class
Mexico City Suns(1630) Defeated Liverpool Rams(1565.17)
Final Scores: (http://oi57.tinypic.com/2meqs0n.jpg)
The Rams will feel unlucky after putting up a very good score behind captain Goldy but in the end the consistency around the park by Mexico was enough to get the W.
Wolves hunt Lambs
Macedonian Wolves(1427.15) Ate Mongolian Lambs(1285.50)
Final Scores: (http://oi59.tinypic.com/j7714j.jpg)
Despite some very good scores from the Lamb’s players, it was ultimately a few disappointing scores from key players which led to this loss. Wolves seemed to really struggled to get going but they will take this win.
Bears feast in battle of Fyfe’s
Bangladesh Bears(1447.05) Defeated Berlin Brewers(1325)
Final Scores: (http://oi57.tinypic.com/2zpty85.jpg)
The battle of Fyfe’s Bags of Chips failed to live up to expectations with both teams below par. But the Bears potent forward line struck to give them the upper hand.
Eagles swoop on Hawks
Serbian Eagles(1502.16) Defeated Huddersfield Hawks(1338.88)
Final Scores: (http://oi58.tinypic.com/o04epz.jpg)
The lack of depth really cost the Hawks in this one. Struggling to get their best team on field the Hawks were no match for the consistency of the Eagles.
Ales go bang
Australian Ales(1565.53) Defeated Iceland Polar Bears(1356.70)
Final Scores: (http://oi62.tinypic.com/110g8zn.jpg)
The Ales from AXV went crazy with a lowest score of 78! Polar Bears really had no chance with only 2 tons on the field.
Spetnaz over Owls in thriller
Moscow Spetnaz(1444) Defeated Oxford Owls(1441.11)
Final Scores: (http://oi58.tinypic.com/2m3n2if.jpg)
After terrific match-up here with Owls VC Scott Thompson doing all he could to get his team over the line but it was not to be as Moscow led by Hogan and Gray just scraped the victory by 2.89 points.
Dublin Destroy Svalbard
Dublin Destroyers(1883) Defeated Svalbard Valkyries(1450.46)
Final Scores: (http://oi59.tinypic.com/otja68.jpg)
The Valkyries actually played better than the scoreboard suggests, with a score that would rival a lot of other teams. But Dublin never looked like stopping after 221 from captain Goldstein on Friday night got them off to a dream start.
Eskimo's Scrape through
Kathmandu Eskimos(1293.19) Defeated Nottingham Hoods(1268.42)
Final Scores: (http://oi60.tinypic.com/osgzzl.jpg)
In a low scoring affair, Kathmandu had just enough fire-power to get over the Hoods. Some good scores from Ryder and Ebert iced the game for them on Sunday.
Hastings prove too much
Hastings Hurricanes(1404.39) Defeated New York Revolution(1227.5)
Final Scores: (http://oi59.tinypic.com/28v81n6.jpg)
Mundy was a great captain choice from the Hurricanes and his heroics proved to be the difference as New York's co-captains could only manage an average of 90.5. A couple of OOP's also didn't help the Revolution's cause.
Strikers strike down Storm
Sri Lankan Strikers(1501.67) Defeated Swiss Storm(1330.86)
Final Scores: (http://oi60.tinypic.com/2vmwlme.jpg)
A big week from the Strikers with only 1 let-down performance, nearly everyone went off. The Storm with a few good scores but in the end, no match for Sri Lanka.
Werewolves on the prowl
Winchester Werewolves(1675.34) Defeated English Lions(1374.44)
Final Scores: (http://oi57.tinypic.com/etekaq.jpg)
The Werewolves are one of the favourites of the competition and have shown why with this stunning performance. The hapless Lions only had 3 centurions and that proved to be no match for the Werewolves who were led by Gary Ablett Jr. who scored a whopping 366! Along with that all 4 of the Werewolves starting forwards scored over 100.
KL not to be outshone
KL Crocodiles(1680.15) Defeated Toronto Wolves(1482)
Final Scores: (http://oi61.tinypic.com/al4xti.jpg)
KL will fancy their chances at winning this group and they weren't about to be outdone by the ripping performance of the Werewolves in the previous game. In a match where both teams captained Pendles it proved to be the all-roundness of KL with monster scores everywhere you look.
Saints fortunate
Christchurch Saints(1286) Defeated Bradford Badgers(1173.63)
Final Scores: (http://oi62.tinypic.com/2ngaexl.jpg)
A match that the Saints will feel like the got away with. They only scored 1286 but that was enough to beat the Badgers who were very unlucky to have Hanley as their captain which cost the in the end. Also an injury to ruck, Tom Nicholls didn't help.
Russia just win
Russian Roulettes(1510.26) Defeated Laos Elephants(1487.06)
Final Scores: (http://oi62.tinypic.com/34phmyu.jpg)
Both team definitely got their captains right in this one. Ablett(352) for Russia and Goldstein(420) for Laos made for a terrific battle but in the end, Laos were probably just 1 ton too short.
Again if you see any mistakes let me know.
5th lowest score of the 32 teams, still got the win 8) Up the Eskimos!
0.11 points!!!!!
Excellent work Levi!
Disappointed my Brewers stunk it up on the big stage... we're much better than that.
At least my Hurricanes did what my Brewers failed to do, and beat New York :P
5 worlds team won though, which is good to see. 8)
Take that Euros, British and Asia, who I can only assume did worse :P
6 Asians won ;)
0/3 even with captain Goldy in two of them. :(

Lets see if anyone can come within 20 of Dublin next week. Just a warning to everyone not in the Worlds.
Dublin put up its weakest list for the year this week. This week its in Joel Selwood out Josh Bruce.
Just clarifying, not that it changes the result, but it's actually trent mckenzie, not eric in svalbard, so trent would come in for grimes as an emergency. Although, hanley does not take the field since he was also subbed, so instead I receive nicholls showerty 17.
So that gave svalbard a raw of 1487, which is a final score of 1507

I worked out if you were to replicate that score against me, the Eskimos would need to beat the highest ever AXV score by about 100 points to get the win! So yeah, we will beat you no problems ;)

I think we've had 1 score in euros history that could have beaten that :p
If im not wrong I think there is only one score in the worlds history that could have beaten me last week.

Lets see if anyone can come within 20 of Dublin next week. Just a warning to everyone not in the Worlds.
Dublin put up its weakest list for the year this week. This week its in Joel Selwood out Josh Bruce.

I think i know the answer and its a Dublin score, but maybe there was another one. That answer confirms there probably wasn't or you would have said it.
Thanks for replying purp :)

Reindeers in a thriller
Paris Nice Lyon Reindeers(1483) Defeated Belgian Bashers(1482.89)
Final Scores: (http://oi62.tinypic.com/vfv52r.jpg)
Holy moly! What an excellent way to kick off the Champions League! A match that went right down to the wire with the Reindeers getting up by just a faction. It came down to Wingard VS Sam Jacobs and Wingard just got the better, outscoring big Sauce by 2 to secure a fantastic win for PNL.
WOOOO PNL is awesome :D. But wow, that was close as, TOO close to call hahaha. Shame Iceland got smacked :(.
And how did I forget to check these until now? :'( Awesome stuff so far Levi!
