Keen on seeing how Cripps goes if Carlton name a near full strength side.
Boekhorst how slipped down my list below guys like Miller and Steel but I'll keep an eye on him
The only thing Mitch Clark needs to do is not get injured :)

Watch out for a big games from The Head, Patty Cripps and for Mitch Clark to back it up. 8)
So no Walker, Gibbs, Kreuz, Warnock and Levi or fringe guys like Sheehan, Whiley, Graham and Ellard. A couple of them are injured but it will be interesting to see how they line up.
If Cripps, Dick and Cocky could have good games that'd be great.
CARLTON
Out: Chris Yarran, Dylan Buckley, Dennis Armfield
Substitutes: Jason Tutt, Clem Smith
GEELONG
Out: Hamish McIntosh, Josh Cowan, Shane Kersten
Substitutes: Jimmy Bartel, Jordan Murdoch
brownlow medallist as the sub haha ;D
will be keeping a close eye on jaksch and cripps

I was looking forward to seeing Bartels role and how many midfield minutes he'd get with Stevie J back in the side today. But Scott's gone and ruined that for me. Nothing is ever straight forward in SC :/
We worked it so well up until the Bell kick
Menzel 8)
Boekhorst showed some toe there. The role on the HFF is suiting him. Byrne is also looking good, he is showing similar signs to Sheehan last season. It would be good if they can keep pushing each other for a spot to see some improvement
If Bews wasn't going to average 30 he is pretty cheap and looks to have cemented a spot as a small defender
couldn't agree more it has been awhile since we had that
no dribble there from Daisy. Dunstall would be proud
White has already been swung between half forward and half back. He started up forward and is now down back running around chasing Motlop.
sounds like Cripps has started well
apart from that set shot lol
My mum could have kicked that. Disgraceful.
sun was in his eyes
Yeah Cripps has started well but no Gibbs, Walker or Simmo
Clark out of all my teams. Carrots perma captain.

Can you imagine if Cripps was playing for the Bloods?
hopefully Dick stands up this quarter

They'd hate for him to turn into a flop
On a side note, I find it awkward listening to Kreuzer talk - just seems so uncomfortable talking

It's why they called him Humphrey down at the club
Judd wasn't happy so hand passed the ball to himself :P
That free kick was soft
Nice play by Judd. Grabs the pill from a teammates handball, handballs it to nothing, tries to kick it off the ground and misses. Champion.
nice kick Clark
Trying to see how Boekhorst can fit in this team and its not looking good.
Gibbs, Simmo, Walker, Yarran, Casboult, Warnock all need to come back so thats 8 changes from the current line up.
Smith, Dick, Tutt, Wood, Byrne are the obvious one's any Blues fans got an opinion on this?
Harry Taylor has just done whatever he wants through the NAB

He will play but I think he could be the sub. Walker will struggle to be ready by round 1 and obviously no Warnock and Wood. Ellard who played that small forward role is currently injured so there is a spot open there for him with Daisy and Menz.
The 22 might look something like this round 1
Tuohy, Jamo, Jaksch
Yarran, Rowe, Docherty
Gibbs, Murph, Simmo
Thomas, Levi, Bell
Menzel, Hendo, White
Warnock, Judd, Curnow
Carrots, Everitt, Walker (if fit), Boekhorst (sub)
Jones could come in for Walker instead or someone else comes in as the sub and Boekhorst gets a full game. His pace is needed in the side
Also I think Warnock has a shoulder injury so Wood could be the ruck come round 1.

Cheers Mat, I guess the good news is they play on Thursday so if he is not sub, lock him in!

So no Cripps?
As a Carlton supporter I don't see Borkhurst being best 22 but think he will play games this year!

Cripps has to play in the midfield and we already have to many similar types, Boekhorst can play on the flank while Cripps can't. It is a matter of fit.
I would have thought Cripps is lock for best 22 as an outsider watching

Yeh seems that way doesn't it
It's all about structure and he isn't going to get games ahead of Judd, Murph, Gibbs, Simmo, Carrots. and Curnow. Then it comes down to versatility and that is where Bell/Boekhorst have him covered because Bell can play as a half forward and hit the scoreboard and Boekhorst has pace to burn which Carlton need when you have just lost Jeff Garlett.
Bell is turning it on at the moment as well. He is breaking lines and hitting the scoreboard
So why can't Cripps rest up forward? Because I have seen him doing it a few times now. And usually gets a touch or 2 from it. In my opinion they will have to play Cripps, if they want that extra clearance power. Boekhurst hasn't been doing anything special to make him deserve a spot to play in round 1...
Yeh Cockatoo goes alright
Because Cripps doesn't have the ability to play as a forward yet. He doesn't have the pace to play as a crumber, he doesn't have the ability overhead and he doesn't hit the scoreboard. Through the NAB he has played the majority of the time in the center square with the absence of at least one of Gibbs, Murph and Judd. If he plays it has to be as a pure mid, you can't have a slower clearance guy come into the game as a sub, it doesn't work. You are also not going to force the core guys to play the majority of the game forward so Cripps can play in the center square when they are all ahead of him.
Boekhorst has the pace to play as the sub but is probably throwing it away at the moment. If Tutt comes on and gets a bit of the pill as the sub he might get the vest round 1. Same goes with Smith, they have some pace to come on and impact games. The only spot up for grabs in the Blues 22 if Walker is fit for round 1 is the sub role.
Alright rising star odds.
Nakia Cockatoo @ $12
Paddy Cripps @ $21
Cockatoo reminds me of Cyril, he just sort of lingers around for the majority of the quarter then goes bang and does something brilliant
"Ahh sorry Paddy, you won't be playing today... 25+ touches handful of tackles and clearances just aren't enough to make the squad for round 1. Instead we will go for the guy who can barely get the ball and he's ability to read the ball isn't that good BUT he can play on the flank so he gets the job, sorry mate."
Yeah doesn't sound right....
And playing Cripps as the sub isn't going to really do a hell of a lot for his development when he can play full games in the VFL
I wouldn't start him as a SUB anyway. Would rather Curnow as the sub. Get him on midway through the 3rd quarter he will kill it.

???
You realise Curnow is probably the number 1 tagger in the league right now with no Crowley and Caff? Picken is the other guy that could claim that mantle

shower my bad, Carrots not Curnow. Getting old so sending him out in the 3rd quarter would be good for him.

Carrots has actually looked amazing this pre-season. Considering his calf has been giving him trouble the last two years he looks the fittest I have seen him in a while. Again, Carrots is not exactly the type of guy you want as the sub, he is an accumulator and not an impact player that will come on and break the lines and hit the scoreboard. What might actually help Cripps is if Carlton start Walker as the sub round 1 to ease him back in
I'm not really believing Bartel came on at HT just looking at the game stats now. Wow, he's really pressing his case in my team over Goddard. And this is with SJ in the side.
Yeah 17 touches since half time isn't too shabby ;)
Wouldn't be the first time kids have blinders and don't play the next week. But one thing is sure, we'll see Cripps very soon
Boody hell Cripps! 8)
Mitch Clark has dislocated a finger.
Clark just done his finger
Thank flower Carlton play first RD1, means we can see if he is the sub or not

Yup, same goes with Richmond since they have Lambert/McIntosh as potential rookie selections. If I am Cripps I am hoping Walker has a setback because it might mean his job security improves a bit
How serious can a dislocated finger be?
Will he be ready for round 1?
It shouldn't be an issue if there is no fracture. He will just be a bit sore

I wouldn't worry too much. You have to pick him anyway. Just need a rookie to take his place in a worst case scenario.
Bartel what a gun, hard to ignore him now
Cripps impressive once again. Has 22 disposals and 75 points to 3/4 time. Attended 16 centre bounces. #SuperCoach #NABChallenge
That is from Fantasy Freako. There were a total of 25 which means he was at 65% of the bounces.
No Gibbs today but I think this backs up my point from earlier, if he is picked it has to be as a pure mid so it will be interesting to see how it works out. I don't think he can push out one of Gibbs, Murphy, Judd or Carrots and then you have Curnow who will have tagging duties to go with the other mids that rotate through there.

Maybe Carrots goes to a wing?
Carrots will be a key to helping Murph break the tag. He does a lot of blocking work around the stoppages and is also a really good clearance player. We are still lacking a bit of leg pace and need one genuine speedster on the wing. I would love to see one of Yaz or Walker there at times with Simmo

Yeah that is true!
I don't know how but Cripps has to get games >:(
Anyone got the full list of SC a scores by any chance?
