Title: Ben Jacobs
Post by: Adamant on March 12, 2015, 12:02:24 AM
Haven't heard anything about this guy this preseason which is a little surprising given all the talk of the mid-priced defenders. Only $266,200, former high draft pick, has had solid NAB returns of 63 (84% game time) and 71 (68% game time) so far.

Although he wasn't great DT wise last season, he did show a fair bit of potential in his first two seasons at Port playing across half-back and looks as though he'll be going back to that role again this season: http://www.nmfc.com.au/news/2015-03-04/back-to-go-forward

The real question mark on him is obviously JS, but if he continues his solid NAB campaign and is named round one I think he could be a smokey D6 candidate.

Damn! Was hoping he stayed off the radar.

Nice find man, definitely one to watch.  Found a fair bit of footy against Hawks

Still not convinced personally. I can't justify him at D6 and my D5 is currently Ibbo.

yeah not sure on JS, so I'd pass.

is playing all 3 NAB games not a good indicator of JS?

especially when only Grima, Hansen and Mullett were missing from the final one (Grima and Mullett out for extended periods)
and North say that Hansen being out gaves chances to Tippett and Nielson (with Hansen fighting for rd1 selection)

nice find Ada, looks worth the shot at D6, and possibly D5 (depending on structure) given the lack of rookies back there
averaging 68 off 76 TOG in the NAB, and looked pretty consistent, might push mid-70s, which I'd take as a slow-burning cash cow (with turning into a potential underperforming Simmo/Hodge come the byes)
