Title: Boyd to play half back?

I seem to have a soft spot for Boyd as I seem to make a thread about him every year, lol.  We all know he's getting on a bit in age, and he's coming off his worst year since 2008, but do you think a role change to half back could increase his scoring ability?  There's the chance for a few cheap +6's in the back line, and with Griffin gone he should still have enough authority in the team for the Dogs to want to find him.  If he has a run through the middle then floats around half back I can see him averaging a solid 105-110.  It's a bit of a risk, but we all know what he can do at his best (he was probably the 3rd best DT'er just a few years back behind only Piggie and the Great Man) and he could prove to be a decent unique option.

interesting.

Will probably take some of the work off Murphy. The ball will be down in their back line a lotbut still not worht picking uo in my opinion. Maybe in AF if he gets DPP Mid/Def during the season

Great, that means Libba will definitely cop more attention now that Griff has gone as well

He's going to be a mid who has stints at half back, not the other way around.

With Liberatore out for the season does this make Boyd a bit more fantasy relevant?  The Dogs look light in the middle, so they're going to need him in there more than ever.

It's an interesting one. He seemed to be getting phased out of the midfield slightly towards the back end of last year, but with the Dogs now losing Libba, Griffen and Cooney you'd think they'd want him in there as much as possible now.

Wouldn't surprise me to see him hit around the 105 mark again but I can't see enough upside in him to warrant a starting spot.
