EMERGENCIES: Hamish Hartlett (D) 87, Ben Long (F), David Zaharakis (M), Alex Witherden (D - SUB) 85

IN: Josh J Kennedy

OUT: Alex Sexton

Coach's Presser: JJK is coming off 3 tons in a row, and earns his spot. However, because of the bye he automatically gets a 76 which is still pretty good regardless. Sexton makes way as Gawn and Macrae share the armband, and we don't have any injuries this week! I'm putting my trust in Fritta to pile on the goals against Crom, with Ben Long only good enough for the bench on return from suspension. And did someone say WitherGOAT?

Witherden subbed on for Crozier

Colorado Avalanche 17.8.110 lost to Las Vegas Sinners 21.9.135
(Real: 1643 vs 2025)

The Avalanche weren't too shabby at all...but the Sinners were on another level, as they firm as a coachless premiership contender (don't call me their coach pls). If you exclude the Sinners' two Harry's (Cunningham and Taylor), and Collingwood bums (Stephenson and Moore), every player in their XVIII and sub scored 90+, lead by five 120+ scores and some healthy averages for bye players. Colorado also had a host of tons and not too many dud scorers either, but unfortunately have to cop this heavy-ish loss to the better outfit - but a 110 is never going to be looked down upon in this league.

Best
Colorado: Ladhams, Witts, Maynard, Simpkin, Fogarty
Las Vegas: Rockliff, Lloyd, Petracca, Butters, Dawson, Mitchell, Fyfe, Naitanui

Wisconsin Cockerels 19.9.123 defeated Quito Quetzals 16.12.108
(Real: 1845 vs 1627)

A clash between two premiership contenders? Maybe. But Quito will have to lift their game massively if they hope to keep up with the high scoring pace being set by teams like Las Vegas, Chicago and the team who bettered them this week. Considering they only had 3 tons and no 115+ scores, 108 isn't too bad of a floor for Quito, especially with their VC only managing 50 and Rayner dudding it up (did he get injured? I can't remember). Wisconsin meanwhile had a wealth of tons but could "only" manage 123, with Gawn nor Macrae able to generate a massive score that ususally pushes them towards the 2k mark.

Best
Wisconsin: Whitfield, Saad, Macrae, Miller, Gawn, Billings, Duncan, May, Shuey
Quito: McCluggage, Higgins, Haynes

Carolina Panthers 20.8.128 defeated Houston Bombers 17.7.109
(Real: 1922 vs 1629)

Pretty much expected result and scoreline tbh. Carolina with a big stock of centurions lead by Mihocek and Grundy with another CD assisted huge score, and definitely had the potential to score 54.5 points higher and reach for the 2k - and Shiel could do a lot better as well. As for Houston, Walters was as consistent as ever, only surpassed by Butler, but they had plenty of passengers - they pipped Quito by two points at least which is almost as good as an actual win!

Best
Carolina: Grundy, Short, Bontempelli, Martin, Menegola, Daicos, Kelly, Ryan, Docherty, Mihocek
Houston: Butler, Walters, Ellis, Clark, Bolton

San Francisco Grizzlies 18.11.119 defeated Ottawa Otters 16.11.107
(Real: 1781 vs 1608)

As you all know I don't like tooting my own horn much in these write-ups, but this is a huge win to possibly wrap up a top 10 spot (what an honour!). It's a shame we saved our "best" (I can't remember if we outscored this in R1) for a fellow battling team in Ottawa, but that's RNG for you. Marshall was a deserved BOG as Ottawa VC, and he and Blicavs definitely had my sweating on this result, but Treloar's hamstring was a big flattener for Ottawa in addition to their final five scores on the sheet reading 29, 41, 68, 53, and 26 (sub), as San Francisco's GWS players ironically got them home.

Best
San Francisco: Adams, Coniglio, Baker, Viney, McCarthy, Williams, Shaw, Anderson
Ottawa: Marshall, Blicavs, Dixon

Boston Terriers 20.7.127 defeated Anaheim Mighty Ducks 17.11.113
(Real: 1911 vs 1702)

Boston sure are back in town, with a nice score to go along with a good victory to further dampen Anaheim's season from hell (at least they unearthed Ridley though?). Neale was a shocking best afield with 149 as CC (should've trusted him with the full C!), while the subs scoring 128 and 120 is pretty impressive, as OMac narrowly edges out Luke Brown in the battle of the 19th men.

Best
Boston: Neale, McInerney, Laird, Jonas, Goldstein
Anaheim: Brown, Merrett, Hawkins, Gray, Smith, Ridley

Chicago Sharks 20.13.133 defeated New Brooklyn Hawks 17.9.111
(Real: 1996 vs 1658)

Chicago further stamp their claim as a flag threat with a very strong score, although of course that has to be taken with a grain of salt with a double ton captain score that they can't exactly expect every week and more than made up for a few stragglers. NBH weren't too bad with their midfield leading the way (even Matt Crouch!), with Jack Steele pressing his case for the B&F ahead of King Cripps.

Best
Chicago: Oliver, Andrews, Guthrie, Sicily, Brayshaw, Gaff
Brooklyn: Steele, Miers, Liberatore, Crouch, Dumont, Lever, Cripps
