Welcome all to the 2015 AXV Awards Night!
We have a big night ahead here, with plenty of awards to be given out, including the Golden Dragon, Wooden Chopstick, and of course, the big one, the first ever Colliwobblers Medal.
Named in honour of the man who set up this entire competition, the CW Medal is a Brownlow style medal, with 3-2-1 votes given for each AXV game. And I can tell you now that it is a cracker of a count, so I hope everyone stays around for it all!
Make sure you check in here regularly throughout the night!
Welcome everyone to the AXV 2015 Awards Night!!
We'll be kicking off in around an hour and a half's time, so make sure you join us from 7:30AEST to join in for a great night of awards, and a thrilling Colliwobblers Medal Count for our League B&F!
*follows*
Liam Picken or Daniel Hannebery are serious chances of taking this out I reckon. Hanners hasn't dropped below 100 once this season, and Picken's lowest score since Round 4 is 113.
Expecting Eddie Betts and Brad Ebert to poll a few votes early as well :)
And I think it's just about time that we kick things off over here! Again, welcome everyone to the 2015 AXV Awards Night. Without any further ado, let's get straight into the first couple of rounds of the Colliwobblers Medal voting.
The top 10 leaderboard will be updated after every 4 rounds, and before anyone asks, no I will not be disclosing the secret formula I use to work out these votes. ;)

Alright time for the Hanners and Picken show 8)
A couple of Hawks in Lewis and Hodge are off to a nice start, but there is plenty of time for a whole range of players to make their mark on this year's award still. Let's get started with some of our other awards for tonight.
CW PRE-SEASON CAP - UAE TIGERS
(http://www.goodscore.com.au/images/pics/afl/colliwobbles/back2back.jpg)
February seemed so long ago, but at that point in the year we were all itching to get into the 2015 AXV season. Each year the Colliwobbler Preseason Cap gives coaches a chance to show off some younger talent, as well as fine tune their best XV sides for the start of the regular season. The Cap is named in honour of the inaugural administrator of the AXVs Competition, Colliwobblers. The AXVs competition would not be in its current state if it wasn't for Colli's tireless efforts.
In 2015 we saw current CW Cap holders the UAE Tigers take on a young PNG outfit. On paper the Tigers squad were easily favourites, but anything can happen at that time of year.
Even coach JROO8 couldn't contain his confidence...
Quote from: JROO8 on March 19, 2015, 03:14:06 PM
EME1: Player - David Mundy (MID)
EME2: Player - Dane Swan (MID/FWD)
EME3: Player - Luke Hodge (DEF)
A few big names left on the bench :o
And that arrogance could have cost him, with Luke Hodge posting a massive 139 and Dane "Pig" Swan with a 130.
However the Tigers side had too much experience for the Head Hunters and cruised to victory, 1783 to 1572.
Congrats to JROO8 and the UAE Tigers!
Now would also be a good time to say good luck to our teams competing in this week's AXV Grand Final. After the Bangladesh Bears took out the title in the first two seasons, it is time for a new team to be crowned champions of Asia.
The Mongolian Lambs have come from 6th place to secure a spot in the last week, being a solid team all year that was always there abouts and getting wins against some of the top sides. They were inconsistent at times, but have put together an impressive finals series so far, and would have to be huge chances to win this week.
They are coming up against the Laos Elephants, who have been very consistent under Coach Nigey's first AXV Season. Their forward line is stacked with stars and has the potential to go boom every week, which Mongolia will be trying their hardest to keep in check.
This week's Grand Final will surely be a close affair, and I wish both teams the best of luck!
Also let's not forget we have the Reserves Grand Final as well, which will be played between the UAE Tigers and Mongolian Lambs.

The Tigers had a great season, scoring a whopping 38404 points, beating last year's effort by more than 2000 points. They were the form team of the competition in the back half of the season, but ultimately failed in last week's prelim final. I'm sure they'll be back next year though, just as strong!
I expected it 8) Seeing as I'm the only other win here I bloody hope an Eskimo wins it!!

So 12 rounds down and still there are plenty of players in contention to take out the CW Medal. Could we see a surprise smokey like Kennedy or even possibly Andrejs Everitt possibly take the night out?
Not many would have seen Andrejs Everitt leading at Round 12 coming!
Tom Bell seems to be missing from the leaderboard. He appears to be on 11 votes as well with 3 vote performances in Rounds 1, 4 & 6 and 2 votes in Round 12?

I believe you're reading the votes the wrong way at the moment Rusty. From left to right it is 1 vote, 2 votes, 3 votes, so Bell is currently on 5 votes rather than 11.
ORIENTAL MEDAL - HIGHEST AVERAGING PLAYER FOR H&A - JACK STEVEN (AUSTRALIAN ALES)

After being a solid midfielder for a few years, Jack Steven took a step up this year to join the AXV's elite players, with a whopping average of 153 over the regular season. He became the first picked player in the Australian Ales' lineup, and found a nice position of captain of the All-Asian Team. He was a consistent performer throughout the whole season and is deservedly the number 1 averaging player. Can he take home the Colliwobblers Medal tonight as well? We'll soon find out!

Considering some other XV sides only got one win (New Delhi and Grope Lane) you didn't go so bad.
In fact there we're five other XV teams you won more games more than this season (Cairo, Buenos Aires and Croatia being the others).
Here's our last additional award for the night!
GOLDEN DRAGON - HIGHEST SINGLE ROUND SCORE - UAE TIGERS
(http://i60.tinypic.com/14desdz.png)
Every team wants to break that highest round score and The Golden Dragon recognizes this team effort and gives bragging rights to the winner. In 2015 we saw some monster scores, including a 2343 from the KL Crocs. I thought even that number was enough to hold onto this prestigious award, but the glory was short lived. Not only did the powerful UAE Tigers outfit surpass that number, they destroyed it!
With a massive 2434 we say congratulations to JROO8 for taking out the 2015 Golden Dragon and breaking the all time record. I dare say this one will stand for quite a while!
^ I feel honoured knowing that it took the highest ever score to beat me ;)
Steven and Hodge basically stop don't they? Picken is going to fall just short I think :(

Well deserved Steven. Most consistent fantasy player all year I reckon and then Goldy a close second.
Unreal season from Steven, thoroughly deserved. Great work BB.
Actually a surprisingly good result from a Dolphins player - Josh Caddy equal 13th.
Onwards and upwards next year!
I'd like to take this opportunity to say a quick thanks to everyone who is a part of the AXV for contributing to a great competition and community that is a pleasure to run.
The competition really is nothing without its coaches and assistants, and the banter and friendliness shown by our coaches truly makes this competition a great one. Nights like this are especially fun to run, and its great to look back on the season we have had.
Thanks for everyone putting up with me this year being in charge of the competition. I know I haven't been the most active admin, and I plan to be a lot more active around the comp next year, and introduce some new features to get people more involved on a weekly basis, to make this competition even greater.
Thanks also to Ric, who has been a great help as assistant admin this season. He has always been prepared to help out when I need it, despite his own busy life, and he has helped to keep the competition running smoothly this year.
Now, we turn our attention to the fun stuff! Firstly, we have a Grand Final to contest this weekend, so good luck to the Lambs and Elephants, it is sure to be a great match to end the season on a high note. Personally, I am tipping the Lambs to cause a bit of an upset.
After that we will have our trade and drafting periods. Before they open, we will be voting on any potential rule changes, so if you would like to see a change in the competition and it hasn't already been mentioned in the Rules Discussion Thread, make sure you post in there in the next week or so, so we can consider some new rule changes.
Thanks everyone :)
Nice work BB, sorry I couldn't be around tonight :(
Congrats to UAE on taking out a bunch of awards, and Jack Steven on a great year!
Thanks BB for the Awards night and running the comp in general. Must be a hell of a lot of work that I couldn't imagine doing myself.
The effort put in by people like yourself make these comps enjoyable to participate in :)
Just caught up, well done to all the winners!
And a big thanks to BB for such a well run comp. I'll never know how you manage to put in so much work around your real life. Thanks mate
Hodgey so close :'(
Cheers for running it BB, great stuff mate :)
Well done Jacko! Love your work buddy! You were worth every cent you cost me!
Thanks BB for running a great comp!
