Pick 15 we traded to jb with r5 in return for pick 3 nat whihc secured toumpas/wines

Wouldnt say you raped Holz in that one since he got Shaw in the end from it :P

No reason to block the selwood to shiels trade just because it was a bad trade in hindsight. At the time they were both averaging similar and the only reason for shiels to drop off was his role change.

firstly, selwood averaged like 109 last year, and that includes a concussed game when he got subbed off for like nothing- if you took out the concussion game he averaged like 114. Shiels averaged like 102. Selwood was a proven premium, with a definite spot and role in the team, while shiels was coming off a break out year, and, as its been shown this year, did not have a definite role at the hawks. The only thing shiels had going for him was that he was a couple of years younger than selwood.

selwood went pick 4, shiels went pick 43, pretty much exactly where they should have been. I know a lot of people, including myself, were rating selwood as a top 2 pick (talking about our draft ftr). It was pretty much a biased decision.

It's done now, you can't change it.

-so much room to improve
-hawks will be a force longer then the cats from now
-Wont get tagged for at least 2 more seasons

Shiels is 20 years old and averaged 103 last year,fantastic pre season and can only improve more, in a year or 2 Shiels will averagered around the same or more then selwood
