Title: EXV: 2013/14 Trade Talks
Post by: Holz on July 22, 2013, 01:14:38 PM
Its almost trade time and for those teams out of finals running im sure some are starting to think about the upcoming trade season and how they can make sure their team is in the 8 next year.

would be good if each team could post a little list of who they have up for trade and what they are targeting.

I will be talking to the other admins and Spinking in regards to the cap as this years trading period will be much more restricitve. With the plan of keeping teams recognisable from year to year.

keep this thread updated should help make sure you use your limited trades to best suit your team.

Russian Roulettes

Well really any player on my list is up for trade, for the right deal of course.

As to which players l'll be targeting, that'll depend largely on who l trade out.

I like to keep an open mind, so won't be limiting myself with preconceived ideas on who l do and don't want.

*overall amount of player trades allowed, rules on trading picks and any limits on on-trading will be a factor too

I'm looking for a young forward, doesn't have to be a superstar, you can make offers on any of your young forwards, and I'll make the call if I'm interested in them or not.

All of my players are on the table, obviously some will be significantly harder to get than others, but for the right offer they're all available :P

I am ridiculously overwhelmed with uni at the moment which means two things.
1. I won't be thinking much about trades so I won't be making any offers of my own. YOU should approach me!!!

2. I won't be thinking much at all so I'm likely to make some awful trades. Take advantage of my distracted brain while you can!

big ones small ones some as big as your head

To be honest, open to most. I think we'd like high averaging premiums young OR old

Happy to stack together like 2 of our older "premos" for 1 younger premo

Or premos in exchange for premos

Or some of our younger players could go for older guns.

Can anyone give me an idea of what they consider Brandon Ellis is worth - What would you consider trading for him?

Hard to know - capable of premo scores, bit inconsistent, may lose DPP next year, but enormous potential...

Unless coaches in the AFL watch the tape of the game against Carlton and realise how truly easy it is to beat Richmond when you tag both Cotchin and Ellis.
I'm very, very concerned about this weekend :-\

As I said, looking for forwards. Pretty much anyone on my team is tradable... except for dick, who's retired :P

Def: J. Grimes, P. Hanley, M. Golby, T. Bugg (R. Laird, Jackson Trengove, B. Jacobs P. Veszpremi, J Roughead, T. Armstrong, J.Pittard, S. Frost)
Mids: C. Ward, J. Ziebell, Jack Trengove, A. Gaff ( T. Adams, D. Towers, C. Smith, J. Caddy,  K. Stevens, Jesse Stringer)
Rucks: B. Mcevoy ( T. Hickey, O. Stephenson,S. O'hAilpin)
Fwd: A. Goodes, A. Christensen, T. Hawkins, Grant ( R. Bewick, T. Lee, T. Lynch, E. Betts, Krakouer,  S. Gumbleton, N. Haynes, B. Dick)
Utility: B. Cunnington, R.Bastinac

obviously some of my boys will be harder to get than others. As you can see, I have an absolute plethora of young talent available.

also, all my picks are on the table as well (which are like picks 7, 20, 35 etc.)- if I counted right.

It's called negotiation.

Matt Shaw averaged 70 this year and showed some very good signs. I'd back him to become a premium (80+) def in the near future which makes him easily equal to pick 13.

Lynch had a great year this year but he's not going to do the same when Walker is back in future seasons while Elliot also has plenty of scope for improvement.

FYI It's definitely not the worst trade offer I've seen this period.

The first offer I got from Scrads was Zaharakis+Parker+Mitchell+Rookie 4 for JJK :P lol

And in the Asians someone offered David Swallow for Ablett.

If think a deal isn't suitable come back with a counter offer. If you not I'll move on and talk to someone else.

Tom Lynch will improve without opposition teams best defender chasing him around. He'll get a licence to roam too as Walker slots back in at FF.

And don't talk to us about people not coming back with counter offers. This is pretty much a dog thread about FARK's offers and not once did we get a counter offer back.

Birchall, Stanley, Reilly, Murphy, Swallow, Carrazzo, Hmac, Daisy, Cyril, Pavlich, Knights all suffered pretty serious injuries (at least 2-3 games minimum)
Pretty sure that injury list does not compare to any one elses

to be fair Murphy Hmac Daisy Rioli all had injuries concenrs around them going into the season.

I had Boyd go down, that guy must have played 200 games in a row, than he comes to serbia and falls apart.

that's not marc murphy is it? he only missed one game... what was his serious injury?

let's face it, hmac, rioli and knights are all injury prone. Pavlich and Carrazzo are pretty old, and carrazzo was shower even before his injury.

Birchall, Stanley, Daisy, Reilly were all unlucky, I'll give you that. The others though all presented their risks when you drafted/ traded for them- risk/reward scenario.

I had goodes, christensen, hawkins, Grimes, Smith, Lynch all have injuries (as well as others), but I'm not really doging since half of them always presented a higher than average risk of injury.

Like you were unlucky, but it definitely wasn't massively surprising.

I still dont think you're getting the point.

Yes some of our players were known to cop a few injuries, yes some of our players were injured in pre-season and we did not have the movements/time to trade them (as if they would have been worth anything) but you cannot deny that these injuries were instrumental in us dying in the ass (but still finishing above Zip + making finals ;))

I'm getting the point, you were unlucky.

That being said, our two teams are structured completely differently.

I think in my best 15, apart from goodes, my oldest player is like 24? I drafted with the intention of being competitive early, hence making finals, but shredding the competition in a year or two :P

Last season that was a trade

But where "Nails Gives:" it was "Pickers Gives:"

And where it reads "Scrads gives:" it read "Nails Gives:"

So if you get those 3, I'll reverse the trade ;)

Just so people are aware the Wolves have used 6 list movements and so if people want to trade with us the only things that we can include in a trade are:

Nat Picks: 22, 56

Rookie Picks: 1, 2, 5, 6, 11, 19, 20, 25, 29

Andrew Walker and Jarryd Lyons.

So, is anyone interested in Tom Mitchell or Luke Parker? We're considering offers.

Or some future gun defenders - Brodie Smith, Shaun Atley, Sam Butler, Curtly Hampton, Ricky Henderson, Elliot Yeo, Andy Otten, Phil Davis, Matt Shaw, Sam Darley or Alex Johnson.

Looking for forwards please. Or a good ruckman.

After looking at the team in more depth, it turns out that we probably don't need a mid desperately and really can't afford to dish out more forwards right now... So we're probably not going to be giving up any forwards for cheap.
Remember when offering trades that forwards are worth so much more than mids at the moment ;)

That should mean Jesse Hogan and especially Dixon should be getting good offers as Dixon is double as valuable being a forward and a ruck.

Shaw Hogan swallow Dixon Clarke the guys I'm willing to move on.

PS - Any chance you or someone could put the names of the coaches of the teams alongside the names and squad list of the teams in the Offseason thread please?

Just makes it a bit easier for me, and other newcomers, when figuring who has which players.
