Houston Bombers 17.9.111 lost to Colorado Avalanche 20.5.125
(Real: 1666 vs 1880)

Houston by no means bad (although I doubt they'll make finals again), but Colorado were fantastic and very much appear to be ready for a finals push. The old were good (Witts, Smith, Wood), the young were good (Rowell, Cerra, JHF), and even Brennan Cox went huge. Can they keep this up for the rest of the season? I hope so. Can Houston keep this up for the rest of the season and miss finals yet again? I hope so as well...nah, carn the recent bottom six sides.

Ottawa Otters 18.13.121 defeated New Brooklyn Hawks 17.9.111
(Real: 1822 vs 1671)

A very similar game to the previous fixture, as the Hawks were fine, would've beaten Houston, but no real match for a strong Ottawa showing - maybe they'll push for finals as well? The 130+s from Treloar, LDU and Young propelled the Otters to 1-0, but the Hawks would've beaten Houston and probably both of the next two sides.

San Francisco Grizzlies 15.11.101 lost to Anaheim Mighty Ducks 15.17.107
(Real: 1508 vs 1607)

Tom Stewart's knee...100% of the difference. We all know it.

Wisconsin Cockerels 19.11.125 defeated Quito Quetzals 18.9.117
(Real: 1873 vs 1748)

Wisconsin weren't quite on the level of Ottawa and Colorado, but they scraped by for a 1-0 record over a poor Quito, who lacked a ton in their midfield and were top-scored by a 46-year old Callan Ward. The equally old Max Gawn was the best for Wisconsin (don't think we've seen that before), as they look to repeat their usual effort of a dominant season before choking in the grand final.

Las Vegas Sinners 18.8.116 defeated Boston Terriers 15.13.103
(Real: 1743 vs 1540)

The Sinners weren't emphatic or convincing in their premiership defence, but Boston were dreadful and surely haven't posted a score this low in years - live by the Laird, die by the Laird? 6 scorers under 65 and a meh captain kept the Sinners from posting their usual 120+, while the Terriers had just as many sub-65 scores - and will be missing Howe for a while now. The only way is up for Boston?

Chicago Sharks 15.14.104 lost to Carolina Panthers 19.9.123
(Real: 1559 vs 1849)

Carolina start off very sharply with a great score and percentage-boosting win over a finals contender - bit early for an 8-point game? The Panther defence was huge, with four tons including a 168, as they feasted on a very poor Sharks forward line where Jack Darling's 65 was the highest score by quite a margin, and Perryman's 1 and injury were a huge blow - not that it would've made a difference anyway.
