There’s seems to be a lot of Defensive lineups  starting: Premo @ D1, Houston, Docherty, Roberton and rookies.

I get the logic why however does anyone else feel this is a lot of risk in the one line? Houston may become a good pick, Docherty may return somewhat to his historical scoring, Roberton may remain healthy..... pair this with the risks people seem to be taking in the Fwds with guys like Steven, Smith, Ceglar, Bonar and it’s a lot of speculative picks.

I feel it’s the furthest we’ve been from genuine GnR for a number of years.

I would say 1.4m in the ruck line may have something to do with it

Yes that and and underwhelming group of defenders this year Lloyd and Hurn had quieter ends to the year and are max price Sicily was all over the shop Houli and Williams seem to be a bit injury prone and not cheap , think people taking a bit of a punt on some gun hopefuls and gorging on the abundance of A+ gun mids  :)

Noble has been on my watchlist for awhile now. Looks best 22 and a good role. Better bet than Roberton at his price point.

Interesting call - what would be Nobles team role?
Background says he is 23 year old 180cm defender?
5 games @ 56.7 SC since 2018

He was a recruit from last years mid season draft so he has only been at the club since middle of last year. He will play as a lock down small defender along with Maynard, pies like Crisp and Howe as mid sized options, Moore and Roughy as the keys.

I think he should play most weeks, probably average 16-18 touches.

Langdon has a major knee injury, career is in danger unfortunately.

Roughead, Moore, Crisp, Howe, Maynard are locked for 5 spots imo.

Quaynor, Noble, Scharenberg battling for 1-2 spots. I'd be backing Noble to get one of them at this stage.

Noble was everywhere in the practice match against Richmond on the weekend playing a sweeper type role in defence.

Doesn't put up big scores, and would likely end up in the high 80's avg

No value whatsoever at his price

Took a good long look at Weller last year pre season and  as a mid season upgrade.   Can understand people assessing him for their teams.   Houston, Dawson, DBJ, Crisp, all ahead of him for my team.  Houston and Dawson with natural improvement, roles and high ceilings offer more at this stage.

Think he will be going with a different role this year than years gone by with more CBAs so some value there but unlikely to burn you if you dont have him

Definitely worth considering.

With Young & B Williams, will try go Prem + Docherty / Roberton + Rookies... or are you still thinking Premium + Rookies?

I'll still considering taking Young into the season on the bench.
