The trading rule im thinking of is
I was thinking a max of 6 players can be traded from your team. You can do multi trades with more than two teams the only rule is in each trade you must lose the same amount of players as you trade.
For example say we traded priddis for shaw and than i went on to trade shaw to HP for goddard (not doing it just an example)
that counts as MTTY has traded 1 player, i have traded 1 (priddis not shaw as not on my original squad) and HP has traded 1 player.
PICKS NO LONGER COUNT IN TRADES IN OUR 6.
POST A TEAM PAGE WITH PLAYERS YOU HAVE ON THE TRADING BLOCK, POSITIONS YOUR STRONG IN AN WANT TO TRADE , POSITIONS YOUR WEAK IN AND WANT TO TRADE IN.
ALSO POST UNTOUCHABLES, THESE ARE GUYS NOT THAT YOU WANT TO KEEP, GUYS THAT CANT LEAVE YOUR TEAM NO MATTER THE TRADE. for example in my team Mummy and Gibbs are the only untouchables

I think I will wait until the rules are set in place before I decide to do anything. What do you mean IF you remove the cap? You're going to have to make a decision and explain things properly.
Also what's happening with the other draft? Are we even going to have one? Are we settled on 25 players? It's hard to know who we're going to trade, and trade for when the lists are incomplete at the moment.

i undestand the 25 afl draft, 5 rookies and 5 pick in the 3rd draft iwth a max on 2 afl players stays.

yeah making up the rules as im going, but its more im trying to follow the SC game as much as possible, the only difference is im letting afl players in the 3rd draft.

i honestly believe that Suban is a gun and Caddy is over-rated. One good game doesn't make a good player. also Caddy is only a mid. I have enough mids i am after backs. Don't really care where i picked him in the draft ::)

Redden, Jobe, Griffen, Cross, Cooney, Tuck/Martin is a pretty decent midfield i'd say. I don't need to wait around for 3 years. Treloar will be as good as Coniglio anyway and he's all I need. I'll pick up another one next year, in a decent draft.

In 2 years MM will have Bailey, who could be scoring 90, and Talia who will be in the team due to Lake retiring.
Cox will be gone, and i'll have Sexton who has to break into the GC midfield to get games,
It's better for me now, but this game isn't based on one year.
MM and mm are happy with it, we've provided reasons why we think it's fair.

Polar Bears are glad to announce that Joel Selwood has come to terms to join Iceland's team to be with his brothers Adam and Scott.
Polar Bears have managed to bring in Coniglio and Selwood at the loss of Shiels and Cooney. The trade department is very happy thus far.

A second year player beats a guaranteed first 21 player who IMO will average 100+ eventually all because he is DPP?
I also think Silvagni will play 3rd tall and score pretty well, he no longer has to shut down the monster forwards.
I agree that Pittard is a better pick then Silvagni but disagree on the other point.

i actually really rate morton think he is unlucky i want to keep him but i cant with the trade restriction. Any guy who went in the top 5 and averaged 87.8 in his second season looks like a good pick to me.

omg holz you raped that trade everyone is flowered now. Pendles isnt even worth swallow morton and mackie on his own. Taylor is just a bit off mackie and hibberd while he is on the outer has shown he is decent at dt. So if you say hibberd morton is even then look at it this way Pendles and taylor for swallow and mackie. Swallow is good but pendles hasnt hit the prime of his career yet either. Mackie is ageing where taylor is no push over in dt sometimes

Well I'm pretty sure I did fine, I have a ton of mids so really Pendles isn't a huge loss.
Taylor is easily worse than Mackie + 20 points or so there.
Hibberd needs to get a brain if he wants to play for much longer. O'Keefe is injured for a couple of weeks but he'll still get over 80 for 3 years of so. Plus if you looked at my forwards, they suck :P
I get a good 30-40 points per game out of it I reckon
pendles... the second highest avg. in the comp and only 24 this year isn't a great loss? I had him down for my number one draft pick.

Mackie- aging player, past his best. Was never a DT god, wouldn't expect 80+. Schneider is in the same boat.
Bartel used to be a champion at DT, is on an obvious slide- if he averaged 100, it'll be barely and not for more than a season or two.
Pendles- 24, second highest DT average, most DT total point (from memory)
Taylor- 26, prime football age, honestly isn't that far behind mackie in scoring potential (if at all)
Hibberd- talent there, shown by a high first year DT average, didn't play much due to injury and a club suspension for being out. Won VFLs most promising player in 2010, pick number 4 in the pre-season draft.

I think next year we need to have a few more rules in place for trading. Something like the worlds had where coaches could vote on trades.

LOL, hindsight is a wonderful thing. But right now, the trade was almost irresistable for me when I was offered Selwood... a first round pick :D. And I got Shiels at a steal in the 4th round, so not complaining.

I think people think Hodge is older than he really is (28 this year).... He has a solid 4 seasons left in him and could play easily for another 2 if injuries allow him to. But he isn't an absolute star when it comes to DT scoring :P.
in my opinion it is lose lose so it doesnt really matter and it doesnt really faze me
torps ruins his team structure but gains a young gun in heppell
nostra gets a much stronger team for the next year or two but also loses some good youth and replaces it with ageing stars
no one really wins
What is this obsession with people calling these guys ageing stars.
Every star ages. However quite obviously shown by Ablett (27) and Swan (28) that the 25-30 region is generally the best in a career.
Waters is 25. That's an untold amount of seasons.
Hodge is 27. That's at least 5-6 seasons
ROK is 31, which I'll admit to being an oldie in AFL. However, he's being traded for Niall Mckeever, a brisbane rookie
This is why I disagree with the trade and I kinda support PB's comment

Heppell >><< Hodge {} That is fair, Hodge scores more but Heppell has shown a fair bit in his one season. No objections.
Clifton >><< O'Keefe {} Clifton may have been picked up high in the draft, but he will not average 100 like Torp sadi he would, whilst O'keefe is a proven DT premium and is in a side which is in the top 8. He won't be dropping off this year, 80-95 avg still in him.
McKeever >><< Waters {} McKeever won't be playing a game this year, who cares how young he is, so that is 0 points for Torps. While Waters is someone who plays for a top 6 side and is playing a rebounding defender role. Yes, he may be coming back from injury but he's worth alot more than McKeever, i say he's worth just less than Clifton and McKeever.

Thanks for your support F.ark. I think McKeever will become pretty decent. He played last 10 games of last year and may still be an rookie but should be one of the 1st to be upgraded looking at him playing last 10 games of last year. Look at Hanley, played 10 games in 2010 and look at him now his avging 80 and is playing really well. I reckon he'll play games, get upgraded and should be in for an gr8 season for himself his only 22 too so still young.
If anybody needs backs I'm looking for young forwards and I've still got 2 trades left. :)
The problem with McKeever Torp is he is a key back. He will never score well.
i wouldnt mind seeing brisbane moove mckeever up fwd with merrett and karnezis (bit like the jarrad waite or phil davis role where he can rotate thru chb and chf)

These guys don't retire when they're 30, and they have 100% job security.
McKeever has 0% JS, he's a rookie and he won't play for a while unless someone drops a 50m length brick on the Brisbane backline.
Clifton is unknown, you can't judge him
Heppel has played 1 year of footy. It took Sam Mitchell 6 years from when he won the rising Star to averaging 100.
You would say Heppel still has a way to go.
If all 6 players in this trade are firing
Torps gets two 85 averaging players and 1 0 while Nos gets 2 95's a 1 90.
This trade is in no way fair.

How is the Jim Stynes medal going to work Scrads?
Easy, each individual game of the regular season there will be a 3-2-1 vote based on the highest scoring players in each game. The votes are all tallied just like a brownlow (theres probably no point keeping it secret until the end, may as well just have a constantly updating leaderboard)
There would have to be a tiebreaker system if 2 players both score say 120, if it were two players from opposing teams I guess the player from the winning team takes the higher votes, otherwise total points to date or highest average could work, or maybe they just share the same amount of votes.Idk, that bit can be up for discussion I guess.

Guys, When Holz said 11:59pm he meant WA time. That's why it was so late. I'm very relieved the trading time has finished. like my team. and the trades I got I liked.

I like how you've done that Torp. I suppose it was a lack of communication to all participants but it was never mentioned WA time. I assumed VIC time and I guess you guys assumed WA time.
And i remember holz asking to get a trade done with me on a friday afternoon before the NAB started, saying he wanted to get a trade done before the trading period closed. ???

Well in our eyes caddy beats tyson and watts equals or slightly beats smith. We had watts or kennedy on fwd bench so its all good and we were one defender short. Brodie smith is in for a break out. Tyson wont end up as a 100 av mid coz this years draft was crap. We have our eyes on some good youth next year.

sorry BGK, i completely forgot that most of you live over in the east, im from WA so when i mentioned it in passing i was jsut refering to my time zone. For example todays game is on at 4:20pm. Next time i willl try and clarify it more
