I got a good idea. Disband Werewolves and Hoods and merge them with the Badgers then the Rams and Steins can have whats left :P

It would also only have 16 teams so it won't be emulating Worlds as much.
'

Il take Fyfe, Gaz, Roughy and Gunny and you can have the rest.
I might be losing here, but Zorko, Bartel, Priddis and others are decent replacements :P

My Winchester vote goes to whoever will give me Zorko for cheap :P

Hi Ringo - just flagging as an option, maybe dismantle 2 teams and draft the players out to the rest of the comp?

Also, may chat with Memphis and do the 'splitsy' thing again I did with Swindon if we need the numbers!

Well, looks like we have some applicants, so never mind!

The Pelican

#22
I am The Pelican and have been on FF for 2 weeks. I have posted a bit but I haven't really gotten going and I think XVs are the perfect opportunity. I have been on the forums for a little while and have seen these posts and have had a look at what this big XV fantasy is. Looks great and I would love to be a part of it. I will post what my Best XV is for each team and post a little bit on what I think of each team and what I would do.

Staines Steins Best XV (Barring Injuries)

Backs: Nathan Grima, Lee Spurr, Ricky Henderson, Dean Terlich
Midfielders: Kieren Jack, Hamish Hartlett, Ryan O'Keefe, Tendai Mzungu
Ruck: Ivan Maric
Forwards: Kurt Tippett, Lewis Jetta, Jamie Elliot, Josh Jenkins
Utilities: Ryan Crowley, Chris Judd
Emergencies: Mitch Clark, Jesse Hogan, Josh Kelly

This team has a weak backline, an average midfield, a good ruckman and an average forward line. There is some good youth for the future in Kelly, Hogan and Jaksch. I also like the depth in the team. I would trade to improve the backline as well as strengthen other lines. I would try to trade out older players and bring in more youth.

Winchester Werewolves Best XV (Barring Injuries)

Backs: Michael Hibberd, Jimmy Bartel, Cameron Guthrie, Nick Vlastuin,
Midfielders: Gary Ablett, Matt Priddis, Nathan Fyfe, Jake Melksham
Ruck: Dean Cox
Forwards: Jarryd Roughead, Dayne Zorko, Jack Gunston, Adam Tomlinson
Utilities: Tom Lynch, Tom Hickey
Emergencies: Josh Green, Mitch Honeychurch, Ben Cunnington

This team is obviously well drafted and had a great coach. What I would do with the team. Keep the Best XV and try to improve the depth in the forwards. I would also probably work on the defenders, think they could do with another premium there. This team would be my preferred team to coach but just the opportunity would be amazing.

Nottingham Hoods Best XV (Barring Injuries)
Backs: Harry Taylor, Andrew Walker, Courtenay Dempsey, Dylan Roberton
Midfielders: Scott Pendlebury, Chris Masten, Daniel Hannebery, Brad Sewell
Ruck: Aaron Sandilands
Forwards: Robbie Gray,  Sam Day, Scott Gumbleton, James Podsiadly
Utilities: Jackson Macrae, Matt Rosa
Emergencies: Clint Jones, Jesse Lonergan, Andy Otten

This team has two good lines in the defence and the midfield but I feel that the ruck and forward line can be improved as well as the depth of the team. This team would need some good trading and I feel that I could do that.

I hope you haven't gotten too bored and I would love your vote.

The Pelican is off

(Hope this worked because I used Word and then copied it in)

Hi All, I am applying for a coaching position in your esteemed BXV league.

I am regularly on FF and I have watched the XV/XVIII Comps from afar until recently deciding to get involved and as such the only position on my resume is an assistant at the Roswell Aliens in Americas XVIII.

(Note: I have based my proposed starting XVs on Sportal scoring)

NOTTINGHAM HOODS Proposed XV
DEF: Walker, Dempsey, Taylor, Roberton
MID: Pendlebury (C), Masten (VC), Hannebury (EVC), Sewell
RUCK: Sandilands
FWD: Gray, Podsiadly, Gumbleton, McGuane
UTIL: Jones, Rosa
EMG: Grundy, Dunn, Day

The team lacks a bit depth in defence, but is really lacking in star power and depth in the forward line. This would be the area that I would look to fix. Mids and rucks are solid

Staines SteinS Proposed XV
DEF: Henderson, Terlich, Spurr, Grima
MID: Jack (C), O'Keefe (VC), Hartlett (EVC), Mzungu
RUCK: Maric
FWD: Tippett, Elliott, Jetta, Jenkins
UTIL: Crowley, Johannisen
EMG: Nicholson, Bock, Anderson

The forward line has a number of players who are (trying) to return from injury or they are borderline best 22 for their team, so it could be a solid line or a disaster. Midfield could do with some more depth as well and I think I'd try and bring in a back-up ruck as insurance for Maric.

Winchester Werewolves Proposed XV
DEF: Bartel, Hibberd, Myers, Fisher
MID: Ablett (C), Fyfe (VC), Priddis (EVC), Ball
RUCK: Cox
FWD: Roughead, Lynch, Zorko, Gunston
UTIL: Cunnington, Pearce
EMG: Vlaustuin, Gibson, Tomlinson

Really strong team with good depth on most lines. Might not need any adjustments to kick-off the season. Cox is getting old, but hopefully Daw can mature into his replacement. Forward line could do with a bit more depth although it's the same story as most forward lines given the lack of reliable forwards.

Really hope I can win a job as I'd love to join your comp :)
