Sup yall! 8)
Trade rules:
- You can't go submit a list lodgement where your total salary is below $8,600,000. If you do, you will lose your first round draft pick in 2018, and also 4 premiership points for the 2018 season.
- You can go over $10,700,000 (the max), provided you cut it down in your list lodgement
- Trades can be any combination of players and picks
- You can trade priority picks, picks in the first 5 rounds of the International Draft and in the first 5 rounds of the preseason draft.
- Available list spots will be worth 100k each in your cap
- You can't trade a currently retired player.
Start date: Once I announce the new coaches
Finish date: 10:00:00 pm AEDST, Sunday, 18th November
Every Monday(ish) will put trades up for a vote.
List trades as:
Team X trades: Player Y + Pick Z
Team A trades: Player B + Pick C
*then provide reason and/or insight as to why you did the trade*
The other team must then confirm the trade, and also provide a reason and/or insight as to why they did the trade.
Please just list and confirm trades here! All talk should go to this thread:
WXV Trade Confabulation (http://forum.fanfooty.com.au/index.php/topic,110439.0.html)
Trade Voting
Every coach needs to vote, missing 2 votes consecutively will result in A LOSS OF A DRAFT PICK. So have your assistants in order. The first co-coach vote I receive will count, the second co-coach vote I receive will not.
- 0-3 votes is an auto-pass
- 4-5 votes passes the trade with the admin having the power to reject it
- 6-7 votes fails a trade with the admin having the power to pass it
- 8+ votes is an auto-fail.
You have a week to vote! However, like last year I'll be trying to do 2 votes per week; one on Monday morning and another Thursday morning (or whenever at least 5 trades accrue towards the end of the trade period). This won't happen until about Week 3 or 4 of the trade period though, because we'll be more than busy in the first few weeks of mass trading. Lenience will be introduced if you miss the trade voting deadlines, as this can be quite regular.
I'll also be disclosing/quoting the reasons why you negged the trade (in a rejected trade) to the coaches involved (via PM), but omitting the authors of the negs.
This year, if I'm not satisfied with your reason why you negged the trade, I simply won't count it. If I feel it is out of being petty or the reason just lacks detail, I won't count it. If you feel strongly enough about a trade, the reasons should be apparent enough for you to articulate them into a couple of sentences.
Trade Etiquette
- If a coach trades a player that you inquired about without getting back to you, PM me with a quote of the message, and I will auto-neg it. It is then expected that the coach enter negotiations with an open-mind to the coach it previously didn't get back to, and once resolved, then the trade will be put back on for voting. Come on guys, this isn't hard and I get sick of it happening.
- Complain all you like (except don't) about the decision of a trade, it won't amount to anything. 2017 was the best year yet though, but even then there were complaints I had to deal with. Did they get anywhere? No. Please note how futile your doging is to me. I get so sick of it, that I might just start deleting posts if I feel it will lead to a nasty discussion. I just don't have the time or endurance to put up with it.
- If you have a genuine complaint, please PM me and we'll talk about it.
- FFS, don't complain about a trade decision (publicly). Just don't. Move on.
- YOU WILL NOT CHANGE MY MIND!
International Draft
Date of draft: At the very earliest, the night of the 28th of November. It will commence once all WXV list lodgements have been submitted and processed by me.
Who can you draft: All players drafted in AFL National Draft, as well delisted WXV players.
If you pass in any pick, you get picks in the Preseason draft
Preseason Draft
Date of draft: Immediately after International Draft
Who can you draft: All players left over from International Draft, players from the AFL preseason draft, players from the AFL Rookie draft, and any other Misc players (international rookies, etc.)

Absolute liability.

Tough to give up a pick like this but Clay Smith will provide much need finals experience to our squad and help develop some of the younger guys.

Mexico trade: Brodie Smith + NAT Pick 22 + NAT Pick 40
Prior to his injury, Brodie's last 3 full years avg were 82, 75, 77 so we're hoping he can be around the 80 mark
Dunstan has the higher average, but has been dropped from time to time (Still played 16 games this year and has shown he can score well) so we think Pick 10 + the age difference is more than fair for Brodie and we also get a 2nd and 3rd round pick while giving up Langdon who is GWS Best 22

Confirmed. Based on expected 2019 positions, Toronto needed another starting forward and could afford to part with a midfielder. As Holz eluded to, neither coach expects Hawkins to replicate his 100+ average next year, but I'm hopeful Hawkins can follow up his career-best year with another good season.

Higgins has played 20+ games in 4 of the 5 past seasons, so he certainly is durable despite having the image of not being. Coming off a 103 avg and in career best form we see no reason why he can't maintain a 100+ avg
Libba is 4 years younger, but coming off back to back ACL's carries risk - enough risk to make the age difference make up for it and make this an even trade for both clubs.

Holman is handy and could become a starter for me and I didn't want to move too far down the order so this was an easy decision. Zerk is based purely on Essendon bias, Kerr is probably the better prospect right now.

Dublin Trades: Braydon Preuss + Nat 18 + Nat 55 + PSD 18
Christchurch Trades: Toby Greene + Aaron Sandilands + Nat 85
Reason: I have turned down many offers for Preuss and possibly selling him at the wrong time with trade season on. Young number 1 rucks dont move so Meow taking the educated gamble on Preuss being that man, which could be at north in a year or two or possibly even after this trade period. It puts my in the difficult spot of needing to find a long term ruck in the next year or two but im up for the challenge. Pick 18 hurts but necessary pain, i love this draft and reckon i could have found a good mid at 18 but Dublin still firmly in the win now mode, as shown by giving up my future in preuss. The 3rd rounder and 1st round PSD just to help Meow out in the rebuild, lets see him pick the next darcy.
Greene will fit in really well at Dublin with guys like Brad Crouch and Grant Birchall for company. Picked up his 4th injury for the year last weekend. Basically im hoping that Lids and Greene can put up enough games combined so that i have a f4. Like lids though the games he plays and plays healthy he puts up good numbers so just hoping he can be healthy for round 20-23.
Sandi i expected to get 7-8 game from then retired. Purely there if Goldy misses 1 week and im hoping its one of the weeks Sandi is out there. He is purely a stop gap for me to find a back up for Goldy which will be a tough ask.
For the NFL fans out there i just traded out Jimmy G, im putting my faith in my boy Brady. Lets hope i dont look stupid.

PNL trade: picks 4, 30, 49
Christchurch trade: Ablett, Gibbs, Shaw
Reason: took what the coaches said on board and added more, yes 3 big names but really for church who want to rebuild 1 year of gaz and shaw who with williams will probably drop back to last year average of 83 so helps meow cash in now
church has the excess mids to still do the trade with a starting lineup of
swallow, scully, murphy, curnow, higgins (now the other trade failed as well)
so he has the means to trade his older ones out if he wishes too

Buenos Aires trade: PSD Pick 5
Pure cap injection for Buenos Aires. I'm not sure either of us think Basti will go that well, but wouldn't mind shedding some cap (with some moves on my part set to increase it vastly), and the Dillos want some cap, so fills both our needs.

We're continuing down our path of bringing in youth and moving on our older players
Lewis is a starting defender, and Tarrant can easily start at D4 for a lot of sides. Conca should be def next year too, but with him likely moving to Freo on a 4 year deal with promised mid time he should be a future mid and is still young. Pick 47 goes to CT too

Dublin trade: Pick 9, Pick 18, Braydon Preuss

Christchurch trade: Toby Greene, Pick 41

Reason: Went into the trade period trying to load up on early picks as i absolutely love this draft. Have been very reluctant to move my top 10 pick but i have a hole at my F4/F5 and i need to fill it. Greene fills that role. Preuss leaves a hole in my long term ruck position but hopefully Pittonent or Xerri can fill that. NY move up the draft at the cost of a starting forward and Saints get a Starting forward added to our old deal and also keep Aaron Sandilands, listening to the opinion of the coaches in the last trade vote.

New York trade: Hugh Greenwood + NAT Pick 22
Cairo trade: Shane Savage + NAT Pick 45 + Mav Weller
This trade helps both clubs really well. We need a defender now, and Cairo need a M4. Savage averages a couple of points more than Greenwood but is 1 year older so we agree that balances eachother out, but because Savage is DEF and Hugh is MID Cairo need more and that's why we're giving them a nice upgrade on 45 up to 22. Mav Weller is thrown in just because we need the extra cap, and can be factored in as part of the 45 to 22 upgrade too

Need another mid and Thor should slot in well to our interchange while the pick upgrade means we get another second rounder to inject more youth. Mav is surplus to requirements and Savage can be moved on because we're trying to fit 6 starting quality defenders into 4 as it is, and that's no to mention guys like Rice and the recently (AFL) traded Corey Ellis who should come through.

*ALERT ALL COACHES FOR REASONING*
I have the Essendon ruck set bar Draper; I want to complete that ruck set because if Belly is injured, Draper has a 50/50 chance of coming in with the other Dons 2nd tier rucks. Either way, Draper has a massive future and Jacobs has a good year left, maybe. Zander gets that ruck set to make him competitive, and so do I. N42 for Partington is a slight upgrade, with Zander willing to take the punt on Luke whilst we want to reenter the draft at that point to have a dip. Masten for Talia favours us positionally, as anybody who has been dealing with us would know, our midfield doesn't go super deep. This is going to help that greatly.

Rate both the young fellas honestly, but we've been chasing a forward capable of starting all trade period so far and Milkshake's got a 75 avg under his belt and I'm a big fan and firm believer that he'll back it up. Also rate Garlett, but he's slightly more speculate, opportunity for him is there being at Carlton though.

Mexico trade: James Harmes, Ivan Soldo & Jacob Townsend
James Harmes found his role at the back end of last year and fills the hole left by Pendlebury. He's a favourite of mine and I'm confident he'll sustain his form going forward. Reason: Abbott does ton 50% of the time that he plays but I'll be a good bloke and share the ruckmen around despite this being a 89 average 27 year old ruck vs a 80 average 30 year old mid. Reason: Taking a big gamble here, Henry i really rate and i know lots do and being F/D is the perfect cover. Purps said it best. Keeping the pick would be nice but the reality is we need forwards, so punting on 3 for the price of the pick is basically what we're doing. Picken missed a year with concussion, is 30 and has to get his spot back. Minch was delisted and has moved times and has to fight for and cement a spot and will do so with Hanrahan who we have so classic handcuffing, and Crocker is safety in numbers because he occasionally gets games but can't really cement a spot and doesn't score that great but something is better than nothing.

Trade Period 2 is OPEN
Rules:
- Where previously this was strictly 1 for 1, 2 for 2 movements etc, you now have some flexibility! Provided that you STAY WITHIN THE CAP AT ALL TIMES, your list size can be between 44-46, allowing you to do 1 for 2 or 2 for 1 deals, etc.
- You are permitted FOUR LIST MOVEMENTS. A list movement is defined as the trading out of a player. If you trade 1 player and get 2 back, this counts as 1 movement for you, and 2 movements for the other team.
- On-trading a player ALSO counts as a list movement. If I trade Cale Morton for Jimmy Toumpas, then Jimmy Toumpas for Jordan Gysberts, I haven't made one list movement, I've made two (1 for trading out Morton, 1 for trading out Toumpas). Again, movements are defined as the trading out of a player.
- I rule on all trades in this period (except for ones I'm involved in). These decisions are final.
- Trade Period closes at 11.59.59pm AEDST January 31st.
Remember, all discussion goes in the confab thread (http://forum.fanfooty.com.au/index.php/topic,110439.0.html). If you have any questions, PM me, or direct them there :)
