Beijing trade: Blake Acres, Shadeau Brain
Cape Town trade: Josh Battle, Will Verrall

Acres older, mid, averages more.

Battle younger, defender, averages less.

Passes the balancing act for mine. Other pieces have little bearing.

Trade approved.

Jing trade: Trent Cotchin
Cape Town trade: Kade Chandler

I can appreciate the reasoning for a discounted Cotchin valuation (training forward, likely 1 year left)

He still holds a tangible value though, whilst Chandler's is completely speculative. He's right at the fringe of Dees best 22, in what is likely to be a fantasy-limited role.

Take his trade in the trade period that has just elapsed:

Dublin trade: Trent Cotchin + Pick 59
Beijing trade: Taylor Duryea, Dane Rampe + Luke Breust

If we're generous, and say Pick 59 is worth one of these guys, then two of them is loosely worth Cotchin. If Cotchin is worth 2, and I'd like to think any 1 of these players for Chandler would pass.

Trade rejected - suggest a future pick added by Cape Town is required.

Jing trade: Trent Cotchin

Cape Town trade: Kade Chandler

CT gets some more mid depth to accommodate Ben 'Coleman' Cunnington up forward, while I bring in a young fwd who could potentially turn into something. Maybe.

GL to confirm
Confirmed. But who will I address my TV Guide to now?
Trade amended to:

Kate trades: Kade Chandler + f4th
Jing trades: Dane Rampe + Luke Breust + Taylor Duryea Trent Cotchin

Same reasoning, f4th to balance. Urbs to confirm.

Anticipating the raised eyebrows at my ruling, I feel like I need to provide some reasoning why I'm approving that trade.

A future 4th isn't much at all l, say Pick 60-65ish. But it does say cotchin and chandler aren't equal, which is really the issue out of the first attempt. Having addressed that, the question is whether I disagree enough with the coaches, and I don't. I may think cotchin is worth more, but there is enough doubt here to.pass it. I accept to some extent cotchins value is lowered due to training with the forwards, and most likely has 1 year left. Chandler has arguably equal fantasy prospects, but obviously not proven.

For precedent, last year I passed Ryder for Charlie Dean, which I standby. I think this ruling is consistent with that.
