Young Player of the Season

Adam Treloar

"Adam has had a super season, grounding himself in our best four midfielders with an average of 87.6 at just 20 years old. Adam has 6 100s this season from 19 games, only missing 1, in addition to 4 further scores in the 90s, with a high score of 124 against Geelong. His first season in 2012 was also very promising, averaging 83.1; his game has come a long way since then, despite only increasing his average by 4.5 points, and we feel he is a prime candidate for a third year breakout in 2013, hopefully pushing his average well over 90 and hopefully towards or even over the 100 mark, confirming himself as a leader of the club and one of the most reliable and go-to players for a good score. Adam has averaged 24.1 possessions, 4.6 marks and 3.5 tackles per game in 2013."

Team of the Season
D: Heath Shaw, Robert Murphy, Charlie Dixon, James Frawley
M: Ryan Griffen (c), Nat Fyfe, Callan Ward, Adam Treloar
R: Nic Naitanui
F: Dustin Martin (vc), Angus Monfries, Michael Walters, Leigh Adams
U: Jack Darling, Josh Thomas

Emg: Tyrone Vickery, Paul Seedsman, Jack Hombsch

Assistant Coaches Award

Nathan Fyfe

"Nathan Fyfe has been a key part of the Spetsnaz plan for victory this season. He came across the Atlantic over the Pre-Season from New York. Everyone at Moscow welcomed him after a series of injuries and horrible unluckiness. Nathan started the season reasonably well not going below 90 in his first 5 rounds before taking a holiday break for 2 weeks (due to contract agreement)  ;) Fyfey has scored 11 Hundreds during the season with a high score of 138 and has impressed Moscow greatly. At the age of 21 we are really looking forward to the rest of Fyfe's career in Moscow. Who doesn't love a Knife to slice and dice the other teams."
-Torp

Coaches Award

Robert Murphy

"We came into the season seeing Bob as an aging player past his best who should, with a bit of luck, be able to hold down a spot in our backline. Now, we see him as the 2nd highest averaging backman in the competition with plenty left in him and a vital component to the team. His 98.8 average up until now has highlighted his consistency (low score of 67, 13 scores over 85 from 17 games) and a high ceiling (scores of 147, 133 and 121, 16 best and fairest votes). His efforts have shored up our backline, perfectly complementing Heath Shaw and Charlie Dixon to make our backline one of if not the best in the competition. His 147 in our four point win over Tokyo in round 17 was super, but his season highlight was in my opinion his 121 in round 11 in the last match of the round to earn a victory over the then-undefeated Mexico City, in their only loss of the season so far."

Best Clubman

Leigh Adams and Tyrone Vickery

The best clubman award is awarded to players whose contributions to the team often go unnoticed, yet play a solid role in the success of the team; Tyrone and Leigh fit this role perfectly. The two tied winners on three votes, one ahead of Dixon, Seedsman and Frawley, have had fairly similar seasons; both averaging high 70s, while filling in when needed. Tyrone received his three nominations in round 4 (79), 9 (42 as HGA in a one point win) and 12 (152 in the reserves), while Leigh earned his in rounds 6 (101, 15 (102) and the semi-final (72). Both have had up and down seasons, Leigh struggling for form early but recovered strongly (4 scores of 100+ after the bye rounds for an average after round 14 of 93), while Tyrone has worked hard on and off the field all season but has struggled to make the team. Both players showed good effort, determination and commitment towards achieving team and personal goals this season, which is why they are the joint winners of the best clubman award for 2013."

Most Valuable Player

1. Ryan Griffen (2146)
2. Dustin Martin (2014)
3. Callan Ward (1956)
4. Nat Fyfe (1901)
5. Angus Monfries (1856)
6. Robert Murphy (1679)
7. Adam Treloar (1664)
8. Heath Shaw (1627)
9. Leigh Adams (1589)
10. Jack Darling (1545)

"Was there every any doubt as to who would take out the MVP award? Ryan has been a superstar all season, and it is no surprise that he is the highest scoring Spetsnaz player of 2013, in addition to being a raging favourite to take out the best and fairest. Despite missing two games and being injured in another, Griff has showed both consistency (12 scores of 100+ in his last 14 games) and a high ceiling (captain of the team of the week twice with scores of 169 and 176). He has lead Moscow to thrilling victories over Toronto (136) and Mexico City (129), showing his clutch play and determination towards getting his team over the line, as all captain's should do."
