#24 Ben Griffiths

Age: 21
Height/Weight: 198cm/99kg
Position: Forward
2012 SC ave: 47.5
2012 DT ave: 32.5
2013 SC Price: $252,800
2013 DT Price: $166,700
NigeyS says: Ben Griffiths is an exciting young player for the Tigers and is much loved down at Tigerland. He’s a forward with beautiful, big kick on him but has played and both CHB and CHF. He’s probably not somebody you should be looking to for your fantasy team at the moment but could become an option in the future. Griffiths has also had a few injuries but he’s pretty much past them now but nevertheless, look elsewhere for a forward.

#6 Shaun Grigg

Age: 24
Height/Weight: 190cm/84kg
Position: Midfielder
2012 SC ave: 97.4
2012 DT ave: 98.0
2013 SC Price: $517,300
2013 DT Price: $504,200
NigeyS says: This man has a great story in that he didn’t get much of a go at Carlton. However, crossing to Richmond did Shaun Grigg wonders and turned him into one of the Tigers regulars. He may not be Deledio or Cotchin but he’s still a viable fantasy option who is a unique and a bit cheaper than the aforementioned. Grigg’s definitely an option for your team if you want someone just a bit different from everyone else but the question is whether he can lift his average to over the ton. Personally, I think he can. Oh and don’t be put off by that killer ‘stache.

#2 Dylan Grimes

Age: 21
Height/Weight: 193cm/87kg
Position: Defender
2012 SC ave: 77.9
2012 DT ave: 69.6
2013 SC Price: $413,800
2013 DT Price: $358,100
NigeyS says: They don’t come more injury riddled at the Richmond Football Club than Dylan Grimes. A great young defender who’s just as good as his brother, but like his sibling has had injury after injury with his latest seeing him do his hamstring at training. For him to come into fantasy calculations, he would have to remain injury free. Grimes definitely has the fantasy scoring potential, but many like myself might just be too scared to pick him with these injury troubles.

#32 Brad Helbig

Age: 20
Height/Weight: 185cm/77kg
Position: Midfielder
2012 SC ave: 27.8
2012 DT ave: 29.8
2013 SC Price: $147,700
2013 DT Price: $153,500
Toga says: Taken with pick 47 in the 2010 National Draft, Helbig is a slight-framed midfielder, often used to play defensive roles in the centre square due to his ferocious tackling. His 2012 season was struck by injury, resulting him only playing 5 games compared to the 10 he played in his first season with Richmond, and was subsequently used as the team's sub on numerous occasions. As a result, his average is down by almost 20ppg in both DT and SC, and will therefore be underpriced, however I don't see him getting enough games, or escaping the green vest enough in 2013 to be a viable fantasy option. As with some of the Tigers' other young midfielders, he should see regular games in the next few years, however, as Tuck, Jackson and Foley get older, so he could be a valuable pick up in the XV competitions.

#14 Bachar Houli

Age: 24
Height/Weight: 181cm/82kg
Position: Defender
2012 SC ave: 82.9
2012 DT ave: 78.9
2013 SC Price: $441,400
2013 DT Price: $406,500
Toga says: Bachar Houli is one of the success stories at Richmond - after being picked up by the Tigers when he was delisted by the Bombers in 2010, his career has flourished, and he has become a pivotal aspect of the Tigers' back six, and his contribution to the team has been recognised by consecutive top-10 placings in Richmond's best and fairest count. Often being used as a rebounding half back for the Tigers, Houli has been known to rack up fantasy-relevant numbers without being a standout performer. Thus, he often flies under the radar of fantasy coaches. He could be a good option next season as a cheaper POD in both DT and SC, however most coaches prefer to stick with recognised premiums who might score slightly higher numbers week in week out. Definitely one to consider in XVs competitions however.

#23 Daniel Jackson

Age: 26
Height/Weight: 188cm/92kg
Position: Midfielder
2012 SC ave: 71.6
2012 DT ave: 74.5
2013 SC Price: $378,200
2013 DT Price: $383,800
Toga says: Dan Jackson is a defensive midfielder, often used to play tagging roles, and therefore, has never really been a quality fantasy footy option, and probably never will be. His averages in DT and SC are not really respectable enough to even consider him for your DT/SC teams, and given his age and game style, I for one doubt that this average will ever really improve. Despite this, Jacko may be the kind of player one could look at for the reserves of an XV team, as for the next few years he should see regular game time in the 1's given the lack of taggers in the Tigers line-up, but will be overtaken in the near future by young up-and-comers such as Matty Arnot and Brad Helbig. Another drawback however is his seemingly inevitable ability to get himself rubbed out for weeks at a time doing silly things on field, it seems he just can't resist whacking someone every now and then!

#28 Jake King

Age: 28
Height/Weight: 178cm/80kg
Position: Forward
2012 SC ave: 62
2012 DT ave: 53.5
2013 SC Price: $326,700
2013 DT Price: $274,200
Toga says: Renowned for his ferocity on field despite his size, Jake King is seen as a cult figure for Tigers supporters, but an annoying little antagonist by supporters of other clubs. Personally, I feel as though his aggression and spark on field is supremely important and inspiring for his team as a whole, as they can always rely on him to put his body on the line. While useful as a defensive small forward for the Tigers, he isn't really fantasy relevant at all, and I think this will become even more so over the next couple of years. The Tigers have recruited a number of players over the past few years, including Chris Knights, Aaron Edwards and Matt McDonough, and currently have an abundance of small forwards, which may see him handed the green vest this season, or otherwise omitted from the team. I would steer clear of him in all forms of fantasy competitions.

#21 Chris Knights

Age: 26
Height/Weight: 187cm/88kg
Position: Midfielder/Forward
2012 SC ave: 46.4
2012 DT ave: 49.4
2013 SC Price: $246,500
2013 DT Price: $254,200
Toga says: Made history this off season by becoming the first player to transfer clubs as an unrestricted free agent from the Adelaide Crows. A highly talented player, who can be used as a penetrating midfielder or half forward flanker, Knights fell out of favour with Adelaide's new coach after suffering a string of injuries. Has averaged as high as 87ppg (DT) and 90ppg (SC) in the past, Knights could be a valuable addition to your team next year given he is a proven scorer who is severely underpriced as a result of only playing 5 games in 2012, being used as the sub on a number of these occasions. Someone to strongly consider in both DT and SC.

#20 Ivan Maric

Age: 26
Height/Weight: 200cm/102kg
Position: Ruckman
2012 SC ave: 113
2012 DT ave: 97.8
2013 SC Price: $602,300
2013 DT Price: $504,700
Toga says: The revelation of 2012, Ivan 'The Mullet' Maric was superb in the ruck for the Tigers this season, becoming one of the most sought-after fantasy options for this line. Was an absolute steal for anyone ballsy enough to select him at season's start, but will start 2013 with a huge price tag on his head. Suffered from OP near the end of season 2012, which suggests to me that if he can stay injury-free in 2013, he could post even higher scores, and should be strongly considered for a starting spot in either your DT, SC or XV's team.

#4 Dustin Martin

Age: 21
Height/Weight: 187cm/86kg
Position: Midfielder/Forward
2012 SC ave: 88.5
2012 DT ave: 85
2013 SC Price: $470,100
2013 DT Price: $436,800
Toga says: Already written off by many because of his failure to live up to lofty expectations, and because of his reportedly 'bad boy' attitude off the field, I for one am not discounting Dusty for season 2013. While there was a drop in his average between 2011 and 2012, primarily due to him becoming seemingly complacent with his position in the side, I think his club-imposed suspension mid season in 2012 would have provided him with the kick up the backside he needed to get his footy back on track a bit. What didn't help his drop in scoring was the fact that Dusty often found himself positioned up forward in the pockets, however Richmond's recruiting of Aaron Edwards and the return of Ty Vickery should do wonders in seeing Dusty pushed further up field on to a flank, with more time in the midfield, and his scoring should improve once again in 2013.

#34 Liam McBean

Age: 18
Height/Weight: 202cm/84kg
Position: Ruck/Foward
2012 SC ave: N/A
2012 DT ave: N/A
2013 SC Price: 94,200
2013 DT Price: 96,200
TheAnt says: McBean will be a future prospect, he is a mobile ruckman and a beautiful kick of the ball who can play down back and up front. Will start up front and probably won't get a go or not many this year due to his light frame. He's been compared to Joe Daniher being 200cm+ and very mobile, however he will take much longer to develop. He himself said he based his game on Dean Cox. Not fantasy relevant this year though.

#36 Matthew McDonough

Age: 18
Height/Weight: 180cm/85kg
Position: Foward
2013 SC Price: 94,200
2013 DT Price: 96,200
TheAnt says: McDonough is a clever half foward flanker/inside mid with elite kicking skills. He was one of the best members of his U18 SANFL team with two 38 possesion games running through the midfield. He followed that up with a 28 possesion, four goal game in the Grand Final. He's said to be strong for his size and is very accurate infront of the big sticks. He's been likened to Paul Chapman and is an exciting prospect for the tigers. However he will need to earn a spot in the team before he gains any sort of fantasy relevance, maybe his emergence could make a trade opportunity for one of the small fowards to be traded away. Even if he does play, he will most likely play deep in the foward pocket which will mean he won't be too consistent straight up.
2013 SC Ave: 60 and a few games
2013 DT Ave: 50 and a few games

#16 Luke McGuane

Age: 25
Height/Weight: 192cm/92kg
Position: Defender (Although plays for Richmond as a foward)
2012 SC ave: 73.1
2012 DT ave: 59.8
2013 SC Price: 388,300
2013 DT Price: 307,000
TheAnt says: Personally I dislike McGuane, and was dissapointed when he wasn't traded in 2011 or this year. However he did perform serviceably this year as a foward/swing man, and was handy for depth. I don't see many games for McGuane this year in my ideal tigers team. Vickery, Griffiths, A.Edwards, Astbury should all probably be infront of him before he gets a game.

#33 Kamdyn McIntosh

Age: 18
Height/Weight: 192cm/78kg
Position: Defence/Midfield
2013 SC Price:
2013 DT Price:
KCN says: He was drafted by Tigers from Peel Thunder with pick 31 in the 2012 National Draft. McIntosh is a key position defender with a slight frame that is also capable of playing on the wing and may emerge as a flexible utility. He impressed at the national championships and later with the senior Peel Thunder team where he played a variety of roles in the 4 games that he played for them. His fantasy scores in these competitions varied upon what roles that he was given, he scored well with Peel Thunder averaging in the 70’s in DT and SC, although in the national championships his numbers were more limited. He is a long term prospect player and may not get many games in the next few years, I believe that he may sneak in for a game or two this season, and for XV competitions he would be a risky pick since there is no guarantee that he will sustain his career for a long period.

#38 Steven Morris

Age: 23
Height/Weight: 185cm/84kg
Position: Defence
2012 SC ave: 65.6
2012 DT ave: 58.9
2013 SC Price:
2013 DT Price:
KCN says: Morris along with pick 15 was traded to the Tiger’s from Greater Western Sydney in exchange for pick 14 in the lead up to the 2011 National Draft. He is a solidly built defender who is often assigned to a small forward, although is also capable of creating play from the back half of the ground. Morris having had to wait several years before his chance at AFL level finally made his debut at 23 years of age, wasted no time to cement his place in the side and went on to play all games bar one. He was quickly noticed among fantasy circles as a mature age player whom was ready to make an impact at AFL level. His bargain basement price certified his selection in many teams and along with teammate Brandon Ellis were two very popular options as defence rookies. He managed to average 65 in Supercoach and 59 in Dreamteam which was a very handy effort for the many coaches who selected him. For the 2013 season I expect him to expand on that average but will not make him a very good option for fantasy football. He appears to have made a place for himself in the Richmond starting 18 and is on track for a long career, which makes him rather viable for selection in XV competitions.
