Would be hilarious now if it isn't Essendon  ;D
Sam McClure is the same person that reported that Essendon were out of the race ;D

Upset that the blues won't be getting him but: McGovern, Setterfield, Walsh and Fasolo will all be starting round 1 next year if fit which is handy.

Hasn't been announced, but Carlton, Hawks and Saints have been told he isn't going to them, so it's Essendon

If that was my clubs off-season, I'd be ropable...

Why? 3 young players with a heap of potential and Fasolo? Pretty solid if you ask me.

Really think those 3 guys make them move up the ladder?  I could be wrong, but these are the types of signings they've made over the past few years and where are they? Still on the bottom. But I guess you can't force the good players to go there.

Ladder postion
2018 - 18th
2017 - 16th
2016 - 14th
2015 - 18th
2014 - 13th
2013 - 8th

Trend does not look great.

Ah gotcha, I thought you just meant in general, not only Carlton, cause most clubs would be happy with a haul like that. Agree with you on that then, definitely can't force or even expect current stars to head there unless they want the $$$, which Shiel doesn't seem to care enough about to head there.

Obviously Shiel was the one player I really wanted as he is a real game changer. Setterfield, McGovern and Fasolo are all talented and at the right age for us though so they are all good gets. We also get Walsh now as well who is a Josh Kelly type player.

Maybe pick up a Barlow type as well for some depth and too help our young talent.

You make sense...but will your club do the same is the question?  Feel it's pretty tough in general for those bottom teams to climb back up the ranks.

Setterfield has potential McGovern will help , Fasolo won't help much he may play the odd good game but he failed to have much of an impact even at VFL level this year , Barlow would probably be better for a team in the premiership window Cripps needs a hand so Barlow maybe for that reason.

Rumours the Gov deal is done, potentially involving Sydney.

Ade give: McGovern, 2019 3rd
Ade get: Pick 13, Blues' 2019 5th, McAdam

Carl give: Pick 26, Pick 28, 2019 5th, McAdam
Carl get: McGovern, Crows' 2019 3rd

Sydney give: Pick 13
Sydney get: Pick 26, Pick 28

Sydney obviously only do this for more academy points since the two 2nds equal more than 13 using the scale, Sydney trade could be done separately as well. I'll be upset if we get the 26 and 28 on their own though, fingers crossed the Sydney involvement is true.

Purple 77

Demonlanders saying we should pick up Honeybadger as a Cat B Rookie. Strong, athletic, and a record number of disposals.

Bloke has commitment issues though.

Think its too early for Sydney to be making this deal. If it was the last day or so then, yes, but way too much to play out IMO

From reading the tea leaves, we are trying to move UP, closer to 5 so we get an early pick and then use the rest on Blakely

SilverLion

Guess I'm the only one that thinks 26 + McAdam is ample for McGovern :o

SilverLion

Apparently there was an article on the Lions website saying that we've traded 24, 58 and 79 to GC for 32, 41, 44 and 77, but has since been taken down. Didn't see the article myself, can anyone here confirm?

If true would probably be a likely deal to take place tomorrow to help facilitate the Adams/Neale trades.
