How are the folders favourite?
::)
Joke thread is joke.
haha i was thinking the same thing Nails, that is a bit of a joke!!
Their interchange = 101 and 107 average
So bascially their 1st and 2nd best players that can't make their lineup in top 4 backs/mids/fwds or in ruck
Our interchange average 123 and 117 lol and we have Howlett 117 and Young 108 in the reserves...
Settle down spuds :)
based on the champion data ranking ONLY, as the season progressed the favourites will change now won't they. We will see how everyone goes round 1 and I guess we will know more.
Not really up to me to pick a favourite at this stage so the ranking points was the only way.
Good on ya Colli for doing up these rankings, they're a good measure to see who is definitely in contention for the cup this year before the season starts, but I agree that favourites will change constantly throughout the season. Will all come down to breakouts, injuries, form drops & depth 8)
Can't wait to get this season started! :D
Lol at how we contested the grand final winner...
However nobody argued with the wooden chopstick winner ;D
The only person who has any chance of getting the spoon over tbag is nost haha and it's unlikely

I reckon I got a shot at it.
I got some guys that could gun it ;) other than my midfield which will match most, guys like Jacobs, Vickery, Smith, Pittard, Otten, Butcher plus any bolters could really improve and be very good this year
What about a CW Cup winner CW?

You're the favourite Colli. You have Kane Lucas and he is like captain material in the NAB Cup. :o
Also, do you want me to design some cups/trophies for each award?
I'm also happy to help design stuff if need be :)

I am not sure we get to pick a team each round so kane lucas not even in my side - not sure exactly how tbag is working it yet ?
as for the awards, happy for you to improve on or redesign each award here is what they are at the moment, pretty random and just images off the net.
here they are the current ones : http://www.fanfooty.com.au/forum/index.php/topic,66632.msg864075.html#msg864075
if you can do up better awards, or trophy or cup or medals that relate to the name of each award I would love you too.
Also thanks for what you have done so far, I need a copy of my new banner from you to put on the home page.
and if you don't mind i will PM all coaches shortly to ask them to check their banners for assistant coaches ect to make sure they are up to date and PM you any changes if they are not, and again if you can do them and pm to me to post i would love you even more which is hard but still possible :)
also have a look at this link and see if you can get me a nice little square logo box think it is 100x100 or 200x200 can't remember for each team to use in this rivalry thread for logo.
HERE : http://www.fanfooty.com.au/forum/index.php/topic,66632.msg869851.html#msg869851
i would also like to have one for each team to post next to results and awards etc.......
even if you just do one same size for each of the clubs that doesn't have one yet its better than nothing, but we could probably use having ALL teams logo's redone to match new club designs/banners ?
oh and while your at..... no just joking thats all for now :)

The players scored decide on it :)
Each round every game played 3 voted , 2 votes, 1 vote to the top 3 sportsbet scoring players from each game.
similar to the Brownlow.
I have already done round ones games and will do each weeks games up until round 19 i think (our home and away season).
We will have an awards night at teh end of the season and i will run a count on the Great Khali award where i post votes round by round and a tally.
you can know the winner by doing the count throughout the season, but i think it would be more enjoyable to not know until the night.
so it may not be the highest averaging or even the highest total player in sportsbet points that wins this, it will be the one who performs the best on field (in sportsbet points) in the most of his games that wins.
there was an example this week where a player from a losing team got the 3 votes ahead of the two best scoring players on the winning team.
will be interesting to see how the count goes but that is to wait until the awards night.

you tell Mr. JB that if he wants to work out all the first year players averages over the entire season for ONLY the games they have played while named on field in an AXVs game.
he can do the rising star award with my full support ;)
Leader board for awards updated, despite the scintillating form of the Lambs who have not only taken the lead in the Golden Dragon award, but have extended their lead in the Golden Buddha award, I am sticking with the Folders for the favourite for the Asian Cup for now.
The head hunters climb to the top of the ladder as they continue to impress and on % lead the way in the Asia Cup.
The Crabs remain the Wooden Chopstick favourite,
The new #1 in the oriental medal comes from outside the first 6 weeks top 4 with a bullet,
the key fwds westhoff and cloke remain the leaders for the Jade Ring with equal scores of 224, all other players finding it impossible to reach or exceed the level so far.
The golden tater award remains largely unchanged as the players playing one game as sub remain the lowest averaging players for now.
This week there were 13 players to poll votes in the GREAT KHALI AWARD who had all not polled a vote in any previous game this season.
This award unlike the AFL version is diverse and the list of players to have polled votes is vast, being the AXVS is a fantasy football competition the players who poll the votes are the true players who dominate a game and score the most, in effect changing the fortunes of their owners for the round and truly being worthy of polling votes in the game they dominate.
I am counting the votes each game and recording them and we will have a game by game round by round count at the end of the season, but i am not totalling them as i go so I can honestly say I have no idea who leads and will be as surprised as everyone else when the count happens at the end of the season I will tally it as I go and only know the winner when we all do.

playing without a ruck all season doesn't help but the draw maybe favoured you early, where the lambs are down the ladder but well ahead of every team in total points.
the draw is almost even, everyone plays everyone once then there are a few rounds where we play random opponents, and they are random.

The stats are still from two weeks ago. Since then, NRoo has become the highest averaging player in AXVs and the Bears have closed the gap on the Lambs for total points scored.

Get that rising star Brett Goodes! Can't believe I got a 100ppg player at pick 3 rookie
Bloody good for a defender as well jay 8)
Goodes isn't even nominated? Is he eligible? He's not AFL able to so why here??

first year players.... this is not the AFL... or we would have to follow all the same rules for the award not just some.
think it makes sense to give the award to the best draftee of the season....
although draftees from the season who do not debut are eligible nest season i figure in AXVS
What if Goodes doesn't get a nomination?
I'm not so much nominating, lez, I'm just highlighting the star youngsters in the SB comp this year. :)
So seperate from CW's awards as far as I know..
That's stupid. You have to get a nomination and then Toga will have to flower up his current good work. So just ignore the Matt Jones' and Brett Goodes
to be honest, i really don't care at all about the award, it add somes interest and that is good :)
if Toga wants to run it and change / make new rules as to how it is awarded he is welcome to.
he can either pm every coach for a vote on his new rules, or he can just make it up and let me know and i'll sign off on it.
if not and I am to just name the rising star for the season, it will be the player who played his first game of AFL football this season who averages highest for the season.
could be far more interesting but i dont have the time to make it so.
if toga wants to commit to something and run it, he can either seek majority vote for his method of running the award, or my consensus and it is all his :)
Tbh I am not really fussed CW - I have just been posting the highest scoring Rising Star eligible player every week just to keep track of how youngsters are going... Don't want to change anything you are doing, but if general consensus is that people want the RS to come from the nominees, maybe te highest averaging of the lot come EOS, then I'm more than happy to run the award.
At the end of the day, it's your hard work that makes this comp what it is, so the decision is ultimately yours. If you'd like I can put together a vote. :)

i do a lot sure - but like this and the totw and the match reports, and just the banter and general activity of coaches that stuff is all what adds to just a basic comp and makes it great.
happy for you to do whatever just will want to make sure it is the popular way of running things hence the reason for me signing off on it or the coaches voting on it.
the more coaches add to this comp the better it will be, there is a limit to what i can do, I AM NOT OS :)
I might send a vote out in the morning then to all coaches if that's ok with you CW. :)

totally ok and appreciate the effort.
And no 50 year olds are allowed to win the award :)

WOODEN CHOPSTICK (LAST POSITION ON THE LADDER AFTER H&A SEASON)
Current Favourite: Kathmandu Eskimos
:/
Wouldnt have picked it at the start either. :/
On the bright side it looks like I can bring a full side to the table each of the bye weeks, so thats a positive :)
don't worry koop your just a win away from pushing the hapless vipers into the favourite for the illustrious wooden chopstik :)
we're punching above our weight at the moment too
Go you good Lambs! :D
Leading three criteria: Golden Dragon, Golden Buddha, Oriental Medal!
As for the "Refer To Toga" for the Rising Star stuff, we still haven't reached a decision - still have two or three coaches to respond to my PM.
And tbag.... LOL @ Jimmy Toumpas being a front runner for the Golden Tater! ;D ;D :P

as for my vote - i vote with the majority in this vote - if it is deadlocked at the end pm me and i will vote. otherwise i just support the majority.
as for the coached who have not voted yet - pm them again and tell them to vote NOW - I said. you need to be firm
we are a disreputable bunch us Asians......
Two years ago as a 17 year old kid, Jimmy the Gun toumpas was GOG in the Eagles Grand Final win! His whole finals series was better than I say a Wingard or Cooney play
I'm not sure what's going on but, he's a nugget of skill and muscle, he'll fire up at some point! Just like Trengove, Watts, Skul ... Oh wait .......
kids take time, it is the HUGE minority that come in and fire from the start....
not counting the mature age rooks/recruits, most of the kids take time. especially the big ones for whatever reason...
i still like viney better :)
OK! Rising star is almost decided upon.. Hopefully the results of the vote will be able to be posted tomorrow. :)
Why would I chase so hard for a top pick if I thought I could just get a Viney, Wines, etc
You will see! ;)
Surely Wines is s favourite? There is some players who are realistically not good enough? Wines is so valuable that I used him several times this year so on voting then Wines should win for him playing most games in my teams. Cept Omeara... Who else plays consistently for their sides?
you would think Vlastuin and Macrae will maybe thurlow and anderson from the hawks when he is fit....
there are a few others.... but o'meara over wines for the top two on my list so far.
hard to call with crouch out too who knows how many games he will end up playing and how he will go.....
Imo you need to play minimum 15-18 games. How many games does the rising star usually play? What 20?
well most of those guys i mentioned wont play 15-18 maybe vlastuin will maybe macrae but surely not the others.

So are they an actual shot to win the real rising star?
probably not, think omeara wines or the Adelaide chap are looking good so far....
Second year Sammy has It locked! It's over
Crows get two in three years, youth good enough to cancel the two draft penalties
Thanks SKurt!
Well the Dolphins sure gave taking the Golden Dragon from us a shot!
Still in our hands though... For now. :o

You've got it for at least another three weeks as well I think with the byes coming up.
Dolphins have hit top form and no-one can stop us.
Playing the mightly Llamas this week. Could get messy, though with a few players out and tbag having mainly adelaide players it could be close
leader board updated.
Tom Mitchell would hold that average for the rest of his life.
Updated after round 14, all except the spuds :)
leader boards updated.
spuds are players only who have played 9 games so far - remembering 10 must be played to qualify....
if you have a player in the top 10 spuds ? STOP STARTING HIM :)
i think half the top 20 players are dongs....
Yes Whatlez Boak dropped to 21 this week :-X
Barlow nd Scooter at least, but Boak :(
Quote from: Colliwobblers on February 10, 2013, 05:19:20 PM
Settle down spuds :)
based on the champion data ranking ONLY, as the season progressed the favourites will change now won't they. We will see how everyone goes round 1 and I guess we will know more.
Not really up to me to pick a favourite at this stage so the ranking points was the only way.
As for the contention pre season about the favourite and the champion data ranking points I added up to rate the teams.
If you look at the official team thread with rankings and the ladder - pretty damn close.
Vipers the main "wrong" one, but no beams accounts for a bit of that....
otherwise pretty close i reckon....
dongs should be doing better but their head coach can't pick a captain no good ;D
Yes the Dongs have a Buckley coach, needs to go to get the great team to fire :o
Just kidding Nails ;)
Hmm, don't think we've got a chance at the Golden Buddha anymore. :(
Just too many premos that have been injured for extended periods. Boyd and Waters have combined for 16 games out of a possible 30. But then other guys like Tuck, Cross, Boomer (drafted him knowing he'd miss the first 6 though) and Stanley have missed quite a few games.
Hey I've had my share of missing premos as well ;)
Dixon has missed near a month now, Tippett 12 weeks, SJ a month injured and then suspension, Murphy injuries, Bock nowhere to be seen, Cooney spent near a month injured... Depth!! 8)
Elephants second on points against :( got more points than the Gazelles :o
NOT UPDATING THIS ANY MORE SO THERE IS SOME SUSPENSE AS TO WHO WINS WHAT AWARDS, EVEN THOUGH THE RESULTS ARE OBVIOUS BASED ON THE LADDER AND THE SPORTSBET SITE....
NOW I NEED FEEDBACK AND WILL SEND A PM AS TO WHAT NIGHT WE WANT THE AWARDS NIGHT, SIMPLY WILL ANNOUNCE AND AWARD ALL OUR AWARDS AND DO THE GREAT KHALI (BROWNLOW) COUNT.
ALSO NEED SUBMISSIONS FOR A NEW NAME FOR THE GREAT KHALI AWARD. WILL TAKE SUGGESTIONS AND IT WILL GO ON THE LIST OF THINGS TO VOTE ON.
Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays are good for me
Well I barely have any time but i suppose sunday would be best for me.
Wednesday and Sunday nights are best for me
Don't really mind what day. Wednesday - Friday probably the best time.
no biggy, can always read the thread after the fact :) wednesday or sunday seem popular, i will wait to hear from a few more and make a call. not going to be anything exciting, i'll just post the results of the awards, and have the rising star guru do that, and post a round by round game by game count of the brownlow.
it was all but decided but believe it or not is still up for grabs....
unlike the real brownlow which is already swinging from the bald mans neck.... like 3 weeks ago or more...
Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday night I usually go to bed around 830-9pm lol.
Wednesday/Sunday night suits me fine if that's the general consensus, not Thursdays though! That's probably my only restriction...
As for the Rising Star, I was thinking after this week (?) I send a PM around to everyone for a PRIVATE 5-4-3-2-1 vote, which will determine the winner of the Rising Star this year...
So I send out a list of nominees, and everyone sends back in order their votes of who they think should get the award; the 5 votes for their most prolific nominee for the year. But no voting for your own players, something I will police strictly.
So votes to be sent back to me privately, I will collate the results and PM Colliwobblers with the result (or I am happy to announce it at the start of the awards night or something if CW wants it kept secret ;)).
And then I will figure out a team of the year based on the most nominated players, or highest averaging players (will construct a poll for this now to decide which one it should be based).
Im free whenever lol

Any night should be good for me besides Friday.
Wednesday night doesn't work for me as I have football training.
Any other night is good though.
Sunday looking likely but i will send out a pm when i can be flowered through this week. :)

haha yep a few have gone close
Roughy 248 and SJ 225 also up there
Also Blake Acres and Xavier currently hold the worst score of a round with both scoring a 2, closely followed by Mav Weller with a 3.
I had Luke McPharlin score 0 once. Think one or two players have scored negatives before too.
lol that would suck. Had a look and no negative scores so far this year... yet
