You pick bowlers based on conditions, why not batters? Imo Shaun Marsh has to play, who for I'm not certain on. Khawaja has sucked in the sub continent in the past...

Marsh has had so many chances and he has never grabbed the spot he always seems to fail badly just when you think he has turned the corner plus watching him in the big bash he seems devoid of any touch ATM so he would need to show something soon , Renshaw will go and I hope they stick with him instead of bringing back old has beens they should pick a younger batsman I don't who but injecting youth into the team has done wonders keep it going I say  ;)

Renshaw
Warner
Khawaja
Smith
Handscomb (wk)
SMarsh
Cartwright
Agar
Starc
Hazlewood
Lyon

6 genuine bats and Handscomb can keep. SMarsh > Wade in sub continent.
2 fast bowlers plus batting all rounder Cartwright to help out the quicks. Two genuine spinning options, Lyon offie, Agar left arm offie (right arm leg) giving us good variation and a really deep batting list all the way to 9.

I think it's the perfect mix and we HAVE to play two spinners on their dustbowls. Plus we're gonna need a strong batting order in case of a batting collapse.

Jukes

I'm crazy so I would go with
SMarsh, Renshaw, Warner, Smith, Handscomb (wk), Faulkner, Agar, Starc, Hazlewood, Bird, Zampa

Lot of options to play with and decisions to make. Drop Ussie? Drop Warner (Jukes special)? Play three openers? Handscomb or Wade keep? How many and which all rounders? What spinner or spinners to play? Should Starc play (I reckon Starc's technique will go like shower in India but he can bat and maybe he'll bowl alright).

The team that they will use (scrubs): Renshaw, Warner, Khawaja, Smith, Handscomb, AR, Wade, Starc, Hazlewood, SOK, Lyon

My All-Rounder rankings
1. Agar and Faulkner
3. Turner
4. Cartwright
5. SMarsh
6. Head
7. Memeswell

My Spinner rankings
1. Zampa - would turn great over there I reckon, nice variations and accuracy too. Worth a shot.
2. SOK
3. Swepson
4. Ahmed
5. Hauritz
6. McGain
7. Lyon

Hang on. James Faulkner has TWO First Class hundreds to his name, and you want him at 6 in the Test team? That's almost a Mitch Marsh like selection :o

I'm picking him mostly for his bowling ability, I reckon it would really suit Indian conditions and he'd have a great tour - very accurate, solid speed, nice variation and can get it to move off the pitch,  plus has batting ability.

Think a good Shane Watson

What I can't believe is that the media are still talking about Maxwell.

Fair enough reasons actually. But still better off picking someone who's batting comes first (and has some good FC/Test numbers to show they deserve selection)

First we had Clarke and Katich, now it's Lehmann and Geeves. I'm on Geeves side of course, I like the article which fueled the comment from Lehmann:

There's a few good points in there. Oh then he said take Maxwell to India so credibility lost.

I don't tend to support much of what Jukes ever says, but can we officially refer to him as Memeswell from now on? flowering love that haha ;D

I say we get HP to change it in the swear filter  ;D

Gone with an extra specialist batsman there, and going by our recent times in Asia where we've struggled to even get to 300, I think that's the right call. Lyon and Ahmed can bowl bulk overs and will probably be the key as to whether we can be competitive or not. I'd rather have put Swepson in there instead of Ahmed but unfortunately the selectors wasted the opportunity to give him a taste of international cricket before throwing him into the deep end with Kohli smashing him to all parts. Marsh at 5 or 6 can hopefully help stop some of our usual collapses.

Similar to mine :) but I think if we're playing two spinners then they should be spinning the ball different ways to each other, just for some variety.

Oh shower, I just picked Agar and Ahmed thinking they were spinning the ball different ways :-[ Agar for Lyon in that case, if only Head bowled left arm offies instead :(

You also put Glenn Maxwell near the test squad, what's gotten into you?
