Ok, so I have come up with a strategy that gets me through the bye rounds with 2 zeroes from byes (hypothetically everyone in my team plays)

There are a few negatives with my strategy.
1) I would have to use Lake as a keeper
2) It probably won't allow me to get the absolute best in each position
3) It relies heavily on rookies playing, and getting them in at the right time.

Basically, this is my strategy I have come up with

Start with a team with the format of the bye rounds being (11/12/13):
3/2/4 - 2/2/4 - 2/2/0 - 3/3/3 (The rucks don't matter at all)

Then these are the trades that I used in my team (will explain a bit later):
Format used is:
Bye round/status -> bye round/status (area - reason) round of trade

1) Round 11 bye rookie -> Round 12 bye rookie (backs - cash)  round 5
2) Round 11 bye rookie -> Round 11 bye rookie (mid - cash)  round 6
3) Round 11 bye rookie -> Round 12 bye premium (mid - upgrade) round 6
4) Round 11 bye rookie -> Round 11 bye rookie (forward - cash) round 9
5) Round 12 bye rookie -> Round 12 bye premium (forward - upgrade) round 9
6) Round 11 bye rookie -> Round 12 bye rookie (mid - cash) round 11
7) Round 12 bye rookie -> Round 11 bye rookie (def - cash) round 12
8) Round 12 bye rookie -> Round 11 bye rookie (mid - cash) round 12
9) Round 12 bye rookie -> Round 11 bye premium (mid - upgrade) round 12
10) Round 13 bye rookie -> Round 11/12 bye premium round 13 (backs - upgrade) round 13
11) Round 13 bye rookie -> Round 11/12 bye premium round 13 (backs - upgrade) round 13
12) Round 13 bye rookie -> Round 11/12 bye rookie round 13 (forward - cash) round 13
13) Doesn't matter bye rookie -> Round 11 bye rookie (mid - cash) round 14
14) Doesn't matter bye rookie -> Round 13 bye premium (forward - upgrade) round 14
15) Doesn't matter bye rookie -> Round 11 bye rookie (anywhere - cash) round 15
16) Doesn't matter bye rookie -> Round 11 bye premium (mid - upgrade) round 15

This is the team that was the template of my strategy (fiddled around with it, as I was trying to pick a strategy then a team, rather then a strategy to go with the team, however, I included many possible unique/risky players I want - Hodge, Rioli, Brown, Broughton etc)

Deledio, Enright, Broughton, Lake, Ellis, Morris, Wilkes (Mohr, Brown)
Ablett, Selwood, Hodge, Goddard, Martin, Mitchell (Reid, Shiel)
Cox, Mumford (Giles, Stephenson)
Franklin, Rioli, Johnson, Brown, Smedts, Treloar, Zorko (Walsh, Rowe)

Now these are the trades I would do (with actual players, and the number relates to my strategy I outlined above)
Round 5 - 1) Mohr -> Clarke
Round 6 - 2) Reid -> Brad McKenzie
Round 6 - 3) Ellis -> Pendlebury (Goddard to defence)

Goddard, Deledio, Enright, Broughton, Lake, Morris, Wilkes (L.Brown, Clarke)
Pendlebury, Ablett, Selwood, Hodge, Martin, Shiel (McKenzie, Mitchell)
Cox, Mumford (Giles, Stephenson)
Franklin, Johnson, Rioli, JBrown, Smedts, Treloar, Zorko (Walsh, Rowe)

Round 9 - 4) Treloar -> Cameron
Round 9 - 5) Walsh -> Goodes
Round 11 - 6) McKenzie -> Gordon

So in round 11 my team would be:
Goddard, Deledio, Enright, Broughton, Clarke, Morris, Wilkes (L.Brown, Lake)
Pendlebury, Ablett, Selwood, Hodge, Mitchell, Gordon (Shiel, Zorko)
Stephenson, Mumford (Cox, Giles)
Franklin, Johnson, Rioli, Goodes, Martin, Smedts, Rowe (JBrown, Cameron)

Round 12 - 7) Clarke -> Brad Mangan
Round 12 - 8) Gordon -> Docherty
Round 12 - 9) Mitchell -> A.Swallow (banking on Mitchell going up in price a lot here - but this is my hypothetical, so bear with me)

So in round 12 my team would be:
Goddard, Deledio, Lake, Mangan, Morris, Wilkes, L.Brown (Enright, Broughton)
Ablett, Hodge, A.Swallow, Shiel, Zorko, Docherty (Pendlebury, Selwood)
Cox, Giles (Mumford, Stephenson)
Franklin, Rioli, Martin, JBrown, Cameron, Rowe, SMEDTS-0 (Johnson, Goodes)

Round 13 - 10) Wilkes -> Heppell
Round 13 - 11) Morris -> Shaw
Round 13 - 12) Rowe -> Kerridge

So in round 13 my team would be:
Enright, Broughton, Shaw, Heppell, Lake, Mangan, L.Brown (Goddard, Deledio)
Pendlebury, Selwood, A.Swallow, Shiel, Zorko, Docherty (Ablett, Hodge)
Cox, Mumford (Giles, Stephenson)
Johnson, Goodes, JBrown, Cameron, Kerridge, Smedts, MARTIN-0 (Franklin, Rioli)

Then to finish off my team:
Round 14 - 13) Shiel -> whoever (Morabito)
Round 14 - 14) Smedts -> NRiewoldt
Round 15 - 15) Giles -> whoever (Daw)
Round 15 - 16) Zorko -> whoever (Swan)

With 6 trades left, to give me:
Goddard, Deledio, Enright, Broughton, Shaw, Heppell, Lake (Mangan, L.Brown)
Pendlebury, Selwood, A.Swallow, Ablett, Hodge, Swan (Morabito, Docherty)
Cox, Mumford (Daw, Stephenson)
Franklin, Rioli, Johnson, Martin, Goodes, JBrown, NRiewoldt (Cameron, Kerridge)

Thoughts on how to improve this strategy, in terms of:
-minimising risk with zeroes (players like Rowe, Kerridge etc)
-choice of premiums
-rookies to watch, not round 1 but mid season
-how to get even less than 2 zeroes
-general ideas

Thanks.

(Also, players I have in, such as Heppell and JBrown I don't think will be the top few - posted that in my own team thread)
