I reckon they will think about Maxwell. They will adjust the batting order.
1. Burns
2. Warner
3. Smith
4. Voges
5. Maxwell
Already a suspect Mitch Marsh at 6. And most importantly Khawaja is the future number 3, so you should leave Smith where he is at 4.

Smith is happy to move between  3 and 4.

I hear Steve Smith said he will most likely be batting at #3 for the next test

Way I see it it's like this

Should: Bancroft or Klinger

Will: Marsh

I win

Yep, Marsh it is.

Way to surprise us, CA.

The only reason i can think of why they selected marsh is so that he is easy to drop when usman comes back........ Although a games experience could be a good thing for Bancroft to get into him... may as well play him and if he fails so what, not like marsh offers anything more besides being 10 years older.

Klinger once again stiff.... But he is 35... so tough to select him.

Patto, O'keefe and Marsh added to the squad. Will they play 2 spinners?

No chance. If they need additional spin, voges or smith can pinch hit. O keefe isnt going to get much done out there.

agree, haven't seen Voges bowl but Warner can bowl leggies as well

The curator at the Adelaide oval was gonna leave a fair bit of grass on the pitch to preserve the ball. However, Adelaide is expecting very hot temperatures leading up to and including the match. They are worried it will turn into a dry dustbowl, similar to something seen on the sub continent

I maintain that if Marsh wasn't a name involved in cricket he wouldn't have been picked. Isn't Geoff on the selection panel or something?
