DRAFT IS FINISHEDNOTES:
- Each draftee is worth at least $100,000. Those players whom have never played AFL before are worth $100,000.
- You can not go over $11,100,000 - so BE CAREFUL WHEN PICKING PLAYERS WITH SALARIES ABOVE $100,000
- You only get a pick in the preseason draft if you pass a pick in the International Draft.
Even if you indicated you will be taking a PSD pick in your list lodgement, it is not official until you pass a pick in the International Draft.- Each team has 24 hours to pick, but if you are online during the time of your pick, you only have 2 hours to make that selection (co-coaches need to be wary of this). After this time you'll be auto picked the next available player from the AFL draft, or alphabetically if no AFL draft players remain. However, the 2 hour rule DOES NOT APPLY TO FIRST ROUND DRAFT PICKS.
- If you plan to pass a certain pick, you may want to do it in advance so we don't have to wait for you to pass.
- You can also choose to have a pick automatically selected in advance; which will be the highest AFL draft pick available. If all AFL draft picks are picked, we then go alphabetically from the delisted players.

Cool. Those picks will likely change though, so although you (and anyone else) is welcome to pass on picks now, I'd recommend waiting until the draft starts.
And Hartung getting picked up just got Rio above the minimum cap :P
Hey Purps, can you add Pkbaldy along with my name for people to PM when it's our pick?
For those that don't know, I'll be away with (presumably) zero internet access, so please make sure you PM Pk as well! Also feel free to chuck Nige a message, as he'll get Pk on it straight away I'm sure :P
As mentioned in list lodgement, we will be passing 2 NAT picks in order to take PSD4 and PSD10 (passing ~Round 7 and Round 8 extra NAT picks I believe). We also have N65, PSD22, and any extra NAT picks we are given if all of Bird, Hansen, and Collins aren't picked up. If they don't get picked up, then (pending how many aren't picked up) we will use N65, then PSD22, and then a Round 6 NAT pick if all 3 aren't picked up. Hope that makes sense :P
No probs GL :)
So I guess the 2 hour rule will apply to Pk? I guess it should. Make sure to let him know.

Can I assume that I have to monitor this thread 24/7 because nobody will send pms when it's our pick and we'll get autopicked for the 20th year in a row?
But basically also posting for notifications
Before the draft even begins why don't we all agree to the following format when selecting
"Team Name" selects "Player X"
Will now PM "Next Coach to Pick"
PMing the next coach would be a nice common courtesy. But a lack of a PM won't invalidate the time limit.
Your picks 20 and 34 are after me and I won't be PMing you.
NDT will be PMing a random coach after our pick. 1 in 17 chance we'll get it right. Better than roulette. I'll take those odds.
PM me and I’ll take any and every pick.
I also don't really like the current font format. Can we agree on Comic Sans?

So with the Rookie and PSD Drafts done today, is Friday still looking likely Purps or can we get this show on the road earlier?

So with the Rookie and PSD Drafts done today, is Friday still looking likely Purps or can we get this show on the road earlier?
Will be no earlier than Thursday 2pm, as that is the date of the final AFL list lodgements. But I'll need time to do final preparations, and to confirm former player bidding.
So yeah, Friday morning still.
Still waiting on JB re: Barry, but I'm just gonna go ahead and assume he wants to nominate him. So we may as well get this part of the draft out of the way.
We had a vote recently where ex-WXV players were allowed to walk straight back into their former team. But, that takes effect from next year, because around the start of this year, we voted that the following is how we're going to do it:
There will be a bidding process for each of the following players. PSD picks beat rookie picks, and national draft picks beat PSD picks. I'm going to end the auction say,
6pm AEST on Thursday night.
At the end of the auction, the former coaches of the players will either:
- match the bid with their next available selection (whenever that might be); or
- accept the bid instead. For example, if Pick 50 was the leading bid for Dom Barry, JBs could decide to match the bid for Barry with his next available selection (Pick 54), or choose to receive Pick 50 instead and give up the right to Dom Barry, allowing the bidder to take Barry.
Former Player | Salary | Former Club |
Dom Barry | $100,000 | Seoul Magpies |
Jarrod Garlett | $119,000 | Moscow Spetsnaz |
Cameron O'Shea | $143,000 | Cape Town Cobras |
Billy Gowers | $100,000 | Pacific Islanders |
Nick Holman | $100,000 | Dublin Destroyers |
I'd normally do this later, because draft picks are still subject to change, but I'll work it out.
So yeah, bid away!

Would I be allowed to bid our only nat pick and still have the player go on our rookie list (in the highly unlikely scenario that we get them) since we don't have space on the senior list?

No. I guess you'd have time to see if you'd win the bid, then delist some other senior player before the draft started?
But good question. If you win a bid with a rookie pick, they'll go on your rookie list. If you win a bid with a nat or PSD pick, they must go on your senior list.
N74 on Nick Holman
Pick 85 on Garlett
36 on garlett
N69 on Holman :P
N74 on Gowers
Pick 85 on Barry
Nat 76 for Barry
PSD21 for O'Shea
ha, Pick 85 for O'Shea :P
53 for Holman

Still, Friday morning looks the likely start.
N64 on Gowers
N48 on Holman
N74 on Barry
LMAO Nige ;D
N73 for Barry
N76 for O'Shea ;D
Leading bids so far
Dom Barry --> Pick 73
Cameron O'Shea --> Pick 76
Billy Gowers --> Pick 64
Nick Holman --> Pick 48
Jarrod Garlett --> Pick 36
Barry Pick 59
#68 for O'Shea
33 for the Jeffy wannabe.
13ish minutes to go (FF clock)
If all 5 coaches decide what they're doing, and I'm on, we might start the draft tonight.

Yea il keep barry
Cool, Seoul matches Tokyo's bid (59) with their Pick 72 for Dom Barry :)
GL sent me a PM a few days back about O'Shea. They match Pick 68 with their 6th round draft pick (TBC).
Pacific can match the bid for Gowers (64) with Pick 66 if they choose, or accept Pick 64 instead.
Dublin can match the bid for Holman (48) with their 6th round draft pick if they choose, or accept Pick 48 instead.
Moscow can match the bid for Garlett (26) with Pick 34, or accept Pick 26 instead.
Yep we'll match the Gowers bid.
Picks 26 + 34 OR Jarrod Garlett.
Choose wisely Torp. ;)
Completely forgot this ended at 7pm
Bugger, was going to bid Pick 45 on Holman :(
2 hour rule for bid matching? :D
Doesn't matter either way, but Seoul wasn't going to use Pick 72 (given Phillips is undelisted). So they'll match it with Pick 55 (their last pick) instead. If I kept it at 72, that means they wouldn't use Pick 55, so may as well do it this way.
Also, final draft order is up (still might change pending list lodgement alterations). Teams can change their list lodgements up until the first pick is taken. The first pick can be taken once Holz & Moscow make a decision on their former players.

We will be taking N26 & N34 to the draft, along with N20&40.
Buenos Aires, over to you :)
Cant believe Worpel slipped to this pick which makes decisions really tough but we will go Rayner
JROO is out til 6ish tonight, and as given me his pick in advance (everyone should thank him for this :P)

Although practically probably true, in theory it's good to know the available pool of players before we start drafting. Whether Moscow gets Garlett or not might affect their drafting strategy, and as such we should confirm such things before we begin.
But yeah, probably fair enough. But at the same time, we have over 3 months to do this.
Man i hope we start this soon. Got shower to do
I'm so confused lol what is happening
The draft has started :P they're just making fun haha
GoLions told me in advance that he is passing his last two picks (Pick 99 & Pick 106).
I am passing on Pick 102, Pick 109, Pick 113 and Pick 116.
A reminder, that to participate in the PSD, you have to pass on your picks in this thread.
On that, somebody has to explain to me why the PSD is suddenly so popular this year haha.

london will spring the first surprise of the draft by taking Jack Higgins

Cape Town Cobras select with the 7th overall pick;
Jaidyn "Heart Break Kid" Stephenson.
Darcy Foggarty
Hunter Clark to join the Reindeers :). Looks to join the crop of young mid we have coming through so will fit in nicely.
Even if he takes the track playing half back to get to that stage, he'll be a nice get 8) .
Coffield
London will be passing on picks 69. 71.78
Charlie Constable
James Worpel
Oscar Allen pls
Been eyeing off this bloke since round 11 this year after watching him put on an absolute clinic against East Freo with a lazy 35 disposals and 7 snags (5 of which came in the 3rd quarter). Very confident he'll walk straight into Motlop's vacated role at the Cats and average 80+.
Tim Kelly.

After much deliberation, Dylan Moore will be a Soviet
In keeping with building mids Hamish Brayshaw come on down.
After trading away a heap of duck depth the last few years I’m gonna bolster it with Callum Coleman-Jones.
Ready to play Round 1 but happy for him to develop for a couple of years. Will be good R/F depth regardless. Also, he’s a Tiger :P
Guess we'll complete the eagles forward set, come on down Jarrod Brander! Let's hope he can live up to his once lofty expectations people had of him.
Well after Beijing took CCJ our decision on which one to take is easier so London takes Sam Hayes
Matthew Ling
A late addition to the draft pool... Ty Vickery! Yes, he's retired, but still on Hawthorn's list next year. So for the sake of being complete, he's now available.
Compo. A few clubs no doubt would have considered in the first round :-\
Rio de Janeiro Select: Tom De Koning
Oh flower off Toga and HP.
I'll take Crossley so he can be the final piece of operation Get Bont.
Fairly sure who the pick will be but just have to confer first
Torp’s MIA so I’ll just make the pick
Going to triple dip with midfielders and take Patrick Naish
When are we starting this draft?
Noah balta

Oscar Clavarino

Wait, stop.
@New Delhi, your rookies have already been upgraded. It's still your pick.
@New Delhi, you also don't have any other picks after 97. Based off your list lodgement, it looks like you planned to use 2 PSD picks. I'd wager you haven't taken into account your modified and extra picks, and that you mean to pass Picks 89 and 97 to use your PSD picks.
Just hold off for now until I hear confirmation from New Delhi.

For the other coaches still in the draft, this means you can still take them, but if you don't by the time meow's picks comes around, then he automatically takes them.
