Title: America's DT XVIII: Official Trades thread 2016/2017 - Trade Period 1
Post by: LF on August 05, 2016, 05:20:45 PM
2016/2017 Trading Rules

- There is a cap on trading, each team have a limit of 20 player movements over two trade periods

- National and Rookie draft picks can be traded but are counted as a movement

- On trading a player or pick to another team will no longer count as a movement

- Trades are no longer restricted to 1 -1 or 2-2 and so forth, you can now trade 2-3 or 1-2 and so forth as well

- Trade period 1 will start after the conclusion of the Ben Graham Medal count on Monday 29th August and conclude on Thursday 24th November at Midnight AEST

- Teams will be able to trade players that are delisted on the AFL website in hope another team signs them.Be aware there is a risk with this and if you chose to trade in a player that has been delisted, then you wear the consiquences

- All trades will be ruled on by LF and Atto. Trades involving one of our own teams will see the coach involved excluded from the process in order to avoid a conflict of interest

- If coaches have a problem with a posted trade, you can pm LF and Atto to let them know of your concerns and the trade will be reviewed and may be either rejected or overturned if the complaint is seen to be justified

- Trade period 2 will start when the positions are named by AFL Fantasy/Virtual Sports for the up and coming season (trade period 2 will finish at the discretion of admin)

- Please leave any discussions on posted trades until the trade has been confirmed

- We aim to approved trades asap,we leave the trade up for a couple of days in case anyone has a problem with it before any approval or rejection is posted

Bolivia give: J. O’Meara + nat 42

Springfield give: J. Aish + nat 15

JOM has obviously had some issues with injuries. Aish was a first rd pick who has shown some very solid late season form. Pick upgrade to level it out.

Springfield Give: Christian Petracca + Jake Lloyd + JOM + Tom Langdon

Calgary Give: Tom Rockliff + Jordan Lewis

Springfield is looking at strengthening the midfield with some big scorers. Calgary looking to add some youth and depth to their squad.
We broke this trade down into 2 parts. JOM + Petracca for Rocky. Langdon + Jake Lloyd for Jordan Lewis. Age was taken into consideration with Lewis but we feel he has quite a few decent years left in him.

El Paso give: E. Betts

Springfield give: C. Masten

Springfield looking at adding a forward. El Paso looking for a mid. This one seemed very even so not much explanation really needed.

Dallas Gives: Jack Hombsch
Arizona Gives: Jack Sinclair

Bit of a nothing trade but Sinclair gives me much needed depth in the forward line when he plays and depth isn't an issue in defence, so Hombsch has become a liability. nas to confirm.

Dallas Gives: Travis Boak + Robbie Gray
El Paso Gives: Matt Priddis + Dale Thomas + Travis Colyer + Rook Pick 22

Very risky trade on my behalf especially if Gray gets DPP and Thomas loses it, but Priddis gives me some good scoring, Dale Thomas is a good forward (if he keeps it), Travis is a depth forward and the pick to round it off. T Dog to confirm.

Dallas Gives: Jarrad Waite + Tom Sheridan
Calgary Gives: Levi Greenwood + Rook Pick 12

Jarrad Waite should be in a retirement home and Tom Sheridan would be more useful elsewhere unfortunately. Levi to make up the missing midfielder in the previous trade and Rook Pick 12 should be decent. R.Griffen to confirm.

Roswell give: Anthony Miles + Luke Breust

Nicaragua give: Luke Dahlhaus + Nat Pick 35

I was after a bit of a more consistent scorer than Miles and Breust was just a depth forward for us
Dahlhaus is a bit of a favourite of mine and is a very consistent scorer and that is what I am after

Roswell give: Ollie Wines + Jack Crisp

El Paso give: Zach Merrett + Adam Saad + Nat Pick 34

We feel that long term Zach Merrett is going to be the better player for us and we need some young defenders with Enright and Burgoyne not far off retiring and Saad fits the bill for us,hope he can manage to stay injury free for us,the pick evens it out

Nicaragua give: J. Newnes + T. McLean

Springfield give: J. Jenkins + J. Holmes + nat 42

Nicaragua was after Jenkins as he will be a forward in 2017. They also wanted Holmes to own the complete Saints rucks. The pick is there to level the trade out. Springfield was after a good mid in return. McLean is worth more than Holmes but needs to be by averages per position.

Jenkins was 36th for forwards (avg) in 2016.
Newnes was 68th for mids (avg) in 2016.

Springfield give: P. Dangerfield

Springfield needed a premium forward badly and advertised Danger being on the table for the right offer. Greene fits what we were after nicely with age and no chance to lose forward status in his current role. Dangerfield is still worth more than Greene obviously so nat 9 is there to level it out.

We weren't looking to trade Greene but when Dangerfield came up,we decide that the offer was too good to pass up and we have a heap of forwards to cover losing Greene and Dangerfield will hopefully offset that loss as well

KB to confirm

our forwards will be Wingard, Jenkins, Daniher, Breust next year which i'm pretty happy with

Bolivia give: J. O’Meara + nat 42

Springfield give: J. Aish + nat 15

JOM has obviously had some issues with injuries. Aish was a first rd pick who has shown some very solid late season form. Pick upgrade to level it out.

Frustration levels got too high with JoM.... Gone. Cya mate good luck.

PK gives: S.Higgins + J.Ramsey

Two older quasi premos in a swap, I love Rambo.

My midfield grunt was a little low. This will give me a decent 90 mid. As for Higgins, i regretted getting him last year, rookie mistake. But good solid trade. Bye Ramsey :(

Confirmed.

Jarrad Waite should be in a retirement home and Tom Sheridan would be more useful elsewhere unfortunately. Levi to make up the missing midfielder in the previous trade and Rook Pick 12 should be decent. R.Griffen to confirm.

Dallas Gives: Jarrad Waite + Tom Sheridan + Mitch Clark + Mitch Hallahan
Calgary Gives Levi Greenwood + Rook Pick 12 + Rook Pick 36

Confirm. There's a lot of players in Caddy's age bracket at Dallas, and unfortunately, their potential is running out. Although Caddy is the best of them, recent top draft picks in Mills and Weller are both likely not going to be in the midfield for 2017, so I will need to re-stock and Nat pick 9 gives me that opportunity.

Confirmed. For some reason the last coach of the Isotopes thought it was a great idea to have 7 rucks on the list. Naismith has been great lately and is every chance to become the #1 at the Swans moving forward. Springfield likes Menzel though and think he fits what we are trying to achieve with the team refresh.

Confirmed.

We are really disappointed to lose Darcy Parish who we think is the next Joel Selwood for the next decade. But with Ceglar doing his ACL we needed to find a decent ruck. Stefan turns 30 in November so should still have another 2 to 3 years left. Griff asked for Hannath as well so we included him in the trade to level it out.

Guadalajara give: Jasper Pittard + Paul Ahern
Bolivia give: Dom Sheed + Taylor Hunt

So Pittard's pretty damn good, but with Hooker coming back, we can probably afford to let him go. Bringing in Taylor Hunt who is a good DT scorer and should still be playing games for Richmond because his form in 2016 warranted it and if he doesn't, will be fringe and better than the blokes we currently have and recently lost (Fisher, Sauce). Sheed's a gun mid/fwd type and will be better than Ahern will ever be imo so I think the trade balances out well.

Marlon to confirm.

Luckily for me, I drafted super well last season, so my need for top end talent is not really needed this draft. What I want to do is win next season, and taking the punt on the superstar who plays 6 games a year is a huge one, but if it pulls off, I can challenge for the flag.

Confirmed.

Washington Gives: Trent McKenzie + RD 13
Hawaii Gives: RD 7

I'm happy letting McKenzie go and having a 2nd RD pick in the top 10 will allow me to get some identified targets. McKenzie alone isn't worth RD 7 so adding in RD 13 as a sweetener seems to even things out.

Ele to confirm

Confirmed. Sticking with my trading plan of trading for players who I think have a lot of talent. Pope should suss a good player as the top 10 in rookies drafts tend to throw up some gems.

We really need some form of ruck coming through and Archie looked pretty decent in the games he played this year and with West gone he might sneak some more games in next season
Really hurts to lose Markov but have to try fix a massive hole in the team

Confirmed. Archie's gonna be a star, but Sandi and Nicholls are fine and I'll suss out a younger lad in the near future if Tom Downie doesn't come good. Love me some Oleg and he's a perfect rising star and N33 should get someone serviceable at the very least.

Trade 16
Scorpions Give: Dayne Beams + Ryan Griffen + Matthew Goodyear + Brayden Sier.
El paso Give: Todd Goldstien + Jack Carlisle + RD1 #10 + RD3 #34.
Pending Approval

We have revisited this trade also, as some early concerns were raised about ruck coverage across both teams.

Scorpions Give: Dayne Beams + Sam Jacobs + Matthew Goodyear + Brayden Sier.
El paso Give: Todd Goldstien + Jack Carlisle + RD1 #10 + RD3 #34.

This adjustment should offset concerns on the ruck stocks in both teams.
El Paso happy to punt on Beames coming back strongly next season  and the 2 young Pies are for my own interest in their development.

Hawaii give: Brett Deledio + Rd #19
El Paso give : Chris Mayne + Nd #10

EL Paso bringing in a Mid with Capt / VC potential if fit and firing. A rank outside chance for DPP maybe, possibly as well. Mayne a solid fwd but his upside will not match Deledio. So the Nd #10 for RD #19 is allowance for the offset in this potential.

We will revisited the trade movements cap at the end of next season, atm it seems this is probably partially responsible for the comp being so even along with the 1 for 1 trades which has been changed this year so it gives us next season to see how things are going but expect the comp to even up more next season with Bombers players back and new coaches for some of the teams in their first trade period now.

The scrapping of 1-1 trades was a good idea, it just opens up so many more trading opportunities. Especially for teams who are trying to open up spots on their lists for drafting, not to mention clubs who are rebuilding, it's invaluable for them.

**even though l wouldn't mind more trades, my comment earlier was very much tongue in check motivated mainly by the amount of trades we've used already

Hawaii and El Paso dealing again.

Hawaii Gives: Brent Stanton + Brendan Whitecross
El Paso Gives: Bernie Vince + Harley Balic + Nat Pick 46

Pretty happy with the midfield make-up at Hawaii and the D4 was always a point of weakness. Happy to have Vince slot in down back for a year or two (hoping its two despite him turning 32 next season) while calling up one of many to replace Stanton in the utilities. Very keen on the prospects of Balic and Whitecross was the one who had to go!

Calgary Gives: Dayne Zorko + Matt Buntine

Hawaii need a premiership to keep their head coach off the suicide watchlist while R.Griff is going the rebuild. We've seen the magical results of chasing picks a couple of years ago so he'll no doubt be able to replicate that.

Hopefully Zorks on ya Forks keeps fwd status.

So no contact from Admins posted 2 trades days ago. I know one got rejected but what about the other one? Can't I control what I do with my team after dominating for 3 years?

I was just posting the trades now
Did you even read my post stating I have extra hours at work this week so things will take a bit longer?
You should be happy that trades are processed fast here compared to other comps and we always leave trades up for at least 24hrs before doing anything with them anyway.
Is that ok by you?

Hawaii Give: M.Wallis + J.Stringer + B.Reid + N10 + N46
El Paso Give: D.Beams + K.McIntosh

We don't muck around! Wallis will be back either late in 2017 or by 2018 - has a good average and will be in his prime when he returns. The Package could seriously be anything, which is the main reason I was hesitant to move him on, I feel safer having him in there. Reid is a solid scorer while T should be able to nail someone very good at N10 and N46 can land a good kid with some shrewd picking.
I'm stoked with Beams, praying he's over his injuries because he's legit when he's out there. Hoping K-Mac continues his role on a back flank when Houli and Yarran are up and running. I like the boy!

The Dog to confirm!

T Dog confirms.
Being able to put away a player the quality of Wallis for a rainy day is a new thing for ElPaso, but will use N10 as I use all ND picks with any luck. The package just only needs to get back to his early form for me to be very happy here. Ben Reid with his D/F ave @around 75 is more than handy.  A trade that is adding value to the following season and is covered this season is a double bonus.

And on the back of that...

Hawaii Give: Jack Watts + Jade Gresham + Nat Pick 7
Calgary Give: Dayne Zorko + Matt Buntine

RG to confirm

Bit of water has gone under the bridge since we originally posted this trade. I feel I'm paying big and sacrificing a bit of future to land Zorko but I'm praying he keeps dpp and becomes that missing piece in the Hawaii premiership puzzle.

Plus I simply can't rate a bloke named Jade.

Quick trade this one. 2 messages!

Springfield Isotopes give: J. Lewis
Nicaragua Survivors give: B. Hartung + nat 23

Reasoning: On trading Lewis here to assist with list management. To make it worth the trade it had to be a decent young kid plus a decent pick. Hartung averaged low 70s in what was a poor year but with Brad Hill off to Freo we believe he is a great chance to break out in 2017. Obviously though he isn't worth a Lewis so nat 23 is there to level it out.

KB to confirm.

Nicaragua Survivors give: Zach Touhy + Darcy Moore + Nat Pick 42
Calgary Fireflies give: Darcy Parish + Nat Pick 30

Losing Parish isn't a preference, but Touhy at a new club with Bartel and Enright out the door I think his scoring can improve. While Darcy Moore is the key target up forward for Collingwood who think they can play finals meaning he will have to kick 50+ goals. Nat Pick 42 and 30 swap to even the trade

KB to confirm
