So Nic Nat didn't train today and Welli is in doubt for the weekend as well.

Versatile key defender Jeremy McGovern is a chance to play against the Adelaide Crows, who boast three imposing tall forwards, in this Sunday’s penultimate qualifying round match at the Adelaide Oval.

McGovern has missed the last two weeks with a hamstring strain, but could be ready to combat the likes of Taylor Walker, Tom Lynch and Josh Jenkins in the Crows’ forward half.

The 195cm utility player will increase his workload at training during the week and will be assessed ahead of team selection on Thursday.

While McGovern will be a strong chance to play, fellow defenders Will Schofield and Sam Butler will miss another week and rebounding half-back Sharrod Wellingham will be monitored through the week for an ankle injury.

Good news also surrounds the recovery of star midfielder Scott Selwood, who has recovered from an ankle injury and is likely to be available this week, subject to getting through training.

The injury has responded to two weeks off and he is looking in good shape.

Ruckman Scott Lycett is also making good progress from a PCL injury and is two to three weeks away from resuming.

Hopefully NN is all good and this is just part of the mental rest he needs over the past 2-3 weeks and next month or so.

As for Wellingham... After watching some of his defensive efforts on the weekend, a rest might be worthwhile.
