San Francisco Grizzlies vs Boston Terriers
FedEx Field, Washington DC (no HGA)
No surprises as to the grand final sides - at least one of the two has held a share of top spot every week this season. The Grizzlies are coming in on a 13-match winning streak, three of those coming against Boston, and look at times unbeatable (the key words being at times - they came within 3 points of losing at the second-last placed Hawks), finishing top of the table with 14 wins and 1 loss. Boston meanwhile are on a huge 1-match winning streak! They finished the season a very disappointing 10-5, before beating Peru and Quito and losing to SF in the finals. Boston lost to Colorado, Houston, Peru, and San Francisco (twice), but also became the first (and, so far, only) team to crack the 140-barrier - inconsistency that could either hurt them this week, or win them the game. San Francisco would have beaten Boston if they had played (and, in two cases, they did play) the last four rounds, so I'll back my boys to get the job done.
As aforementioned, these sides have met three times this season:
Round 8: San Francisco Grizzlies 20.5.125 defeated Boston Terriers 19.10.124
Round 15: San Francisco Grizzlies 18.16.126 defeated Boston Terriers 18.13.123
Semi-Finals: San Francisco Grizzlies 21.11.137 defeated Boston Terriers 20.7.127
Lockout will occur at the start of Geelong vs Collingwood at 7:50pm EST on Friday the 28th of August.

Up the mighty Terriers!

Cotchin out! Better start planning my champions parade
Picking between Pittard, Howlett, and Monfries for sub will kill me tho
...when I say "break", I want a clean break.............in the event of a knock-down, you will be directed to go to a neutral corner. "Are there any questions"?.."You are both professionals so I expect a good, clean fight"! ,"Protect yourself at all times"!.. "Okay, touch gloves and come out at the siren"!

Jukes' head will explode if Champion Data's Goldy love/Stef Martin hatred costs him the win :P
Haha basically the main reason I made Goldy captain, the wash-up would be priceless!
In tonights game...

Good to see another Pie supporter tonight :-*
Nek minnit Guthrie to tag Pendles out of the game and they both score 30.

I thought a match preview was suppose to be impartially written :P
Pendles you flowering jet. Really good start from the lad I should've captained haha

Pretty typical that Heater (c) and Guthrie combine for 190 less points than they did last week tho

Yeah, he needs to stop resting players before finals... At least he got over the 100 point mark - but still disappointing considering he was on 97 at HT

On its face, it looks like Jukes has won it
But scores still need to be counted because it looked really close (Pridda & the McGovern injury may have let Ele down)
San Francisco Grizzlies 20.7.127 defeated Boston Terriers 20.5.125
(Real: 1911 vs 1881)
And so the best team all year has taken it out - big surprise. That makes it 17 wins, the last 14 being consecutive, for just 1 loss for the team from the Bay, winning all four clashes against arch-rivals Boston, who finish the season with 7 losses compared to 12 wins. Although SF weren't as consistently-awesome as they have been recently, with 4 scores below 80 coming from their starting 18, they made up for it with a host of key contributors. Pendlebury "lead" the way (lead being used loosely - if he was named captain instead of Goldstein, Boston would be champions) for Boston and won the game's MVP award, but was let down by many low scores, such as Wood, Dal Santo, Rich (subbed off), McGovern (subbed on), and LeCras, who all scored below 70. But the real villain for the men from Massachusetts may have been Ross Lyon, who subbed off gun forward Matthew Pavlich in the third quarter, costing him the chance to scrape together at least another 30 points. But, the SF score would've been higher if Stefan Martin wasn't ripped off in SC terms - but they can thank their lucky stars that Champion Data didn't cheat Goldstein's score up like they usually do! Jack Viney's late heroics were instrumental for the Grizzlies, but obviously Brent Stanton's awesome effort was just as great.
And just one final sucked in to all coaches who doubted us!
Best
San Francisco: Viney, Miles, Betts, Deledio, Douglas, Kolodjashnij, Stanton, Shaw, Jack
Boston: Pendlebury, Neale, Pavlich, Wallis, Dahlhaus, Sheed, Barlow, Laird, Robinson, Howe
Scott Pendlebury wins Americas Bowl MVP

Really I think the blame should be attributed to Pridda. Needed to match Lids and fell short (was beaten in the match-up with Scott Thompson today quite badly - Sheed was the only Eagle mid that held his own and he is only a 2nd year player)
Pav could have equalised the scores if he stayed on, but I think Pridda really is the one to blame

Classic Ross
Clarkson did similar with Isaac Smith - I think it's a loophole to the resting rules (Sam Mitchell was a late withdrawal - therefore not technically 'rested').
& by doing this in the second last round, as opposed to next week, it doesn't draw attention to the practice.
@Jukes
are you going to continue counting your winning streak into next year?

Did the scores myself, however based on the scores published by fanfooty (which I've found aren't always correct).
Regardless of where the scores were sourced San Francisco scored 1,907 to Boston's 1,881 (again, the score were scored from a different location) which corroborates a San Francisco win
Doing the scores myself I found Priddis, as VC, left Deledio, as VC, with roughly 50 points unaccounted for. It just came down to the captaincy duo at the end of the day (If Pridda had matched Deledio it would have been a certain Boston win)
The consistency in both teams scoring showed that they both deserved a grand final berth

Congratulations Jukes.
The Coach of the Year wins the Premiership - seems pretty spot on to me.

You could hahahahaha
But I don't know how the other coaches would feel being in a league where the championship side's name is a reference to a sit-com hahahahaha
Congrats Jukes, too good on the day.
Absolutely spewing that the subbing of Pavlich and McGovern cost me in the end.
Ah well, very happy to welcome the Robbie Gray to the 2016 line-up along with a bunch of other increasingly promising names!
Couple of things;
First, Andrew Swallow and Leigh Montagna become the first players to pick up two premiership medals. Ollie Wines would've joined this group if fit.
Second, did some math and the average age of the SF grand final side was 25.79 years old. Bostons? 26.37. Looks like these teams could be dominant for years to come!
