It seems that the captain of the Eskimos is well.... quite loose. Partying hard on the streets after a round 2 win could be seen as a premature move. There may be a lack of professionalism down at the Eskimos that could be exploited later in the season.

I cant wait until you exploit it. ;)

Infact, reports have indicated that while Trent is out there rugged up with a beer and fireworks, Brad Ebert is getting his rest up, could this be a sign? :o

Sounds like you need a culture change, just like down at the Demons.

So are we, moving forward with a disciplined team that knows they are deserving of greatness and with their professional attitude are ready to be AXV winners ;)

2 changes made to face Dolphins

Coach KoopKicka has made 3 changes to the in-form line-up to face the Dolphins.

Liam Picken is the unfortunate casualty of the Eskimos midfield dominance making way for the returning Andy Embley.
Michael Firrito has been omitted following an average game and a tough match-up this week. He has been replaced by the courageous Dale Morris. Sam Rowe has replaced Lachlan Henderson

Coach KoopKicka had these words to say

"Unfortunately Liam has had to make way for Andy Embley, who has a much better match-up. Thats the problem with having 7 100+ Averaging Midfielders at the moment and another 100+ averager on the recovery road. One or two will be left out every game, all they can do is try and heap extra pressure on the others"

"Dale Morris has really earned his spot, he played very well in the magoos last week and the week before. He's excited definitely"

"Liam Jones is still getting match fitness, still 1-2 weeks away, we will test him next week however. David Ellard is also 1-2 weeks away."

Nail-biting finish ends in heartbreaking loss for the Eskimos
15/04/13

The Eskimos couldnt give Coach KoopKicka a fairytale win as an early birthday present. Instead they went down to a Gary Ablett inspired Dolphins by a mere 4 points.

The Eskimos failed to capitalize on their opportunities yet again. Dolphin ruckman Matthew Kreuzer went down in the first quarter and while Sam Rowe dominated the taps. The mid-fielders couldn't capitalize.

Lewis Jetta could be facing the music at the selection panel after a third consecutive poor performance. The music made louder by Liam Jones seeming to start warming up. Lewis Stevenson also performed really poorly. But after 2 solid performances in the first 2 rounds his spot is assumed safe. Michael Hibberd and Marty Clarke performed at a required level again both notching tons and it is expected they could be the D1 and D2 for most of the season. Dale Morris also played a perfect lockdown role on Jason Porplyzia.

Howlett, Hannebery and Cotchin were outstanding in the midfield racking up the touches and clearances. While captain Ebert copped a very heavy tag which ultimately lost the Eskimos the game. Embley was shocking, especially with the opposition he faced. Mzungu did a sublime tagging role.

One really exciting positive the Eskimos can take away from this game is the emergence of Sam Rowe. Given his AXV devut at R1 he didnt dissapoint. Amassing  95 SportsBet points.

Apart from Lewis Jetta the rest of the Cyril-Rioli led forward line were very solid. With Maister proving a solid late draft pickup. However Ryder has been banned for 3 weeks by the AXV tribunal. Which leaves a gaping hole especially as the Eskimos have got the formidable Dongs next week, even more remarkably, in Hong Kong.

The Eskimos are really missing the consistency of David Ellard. He should be back round 5. There were no real standouts in the magoos. However Steven May is knocking the door down for a recall.

The coach was too distraught to comment, only hinting a multitude of changes for next week.

Unlucky mate, you deserved to win really.

Kreuzer's injury will hurt me more than it does you as you have Pedersen and Rowe as back up.

Embley out for 3 weeks with a foot injury, probably the reason behind his poor showing.

Also Dickson is out for 6-8 weeks FMAXV

Injury Toll rises to 6 as the number of available forwards reach crisis point.

Kathmandu have taken another blow to their forward stocks with the news that scans confirmed Beau Maister will be sidlined for at least a month after fracturing his wrist against Hong Kong on the weekend.

This follows the Suspenion of Paddy Ryder, the omission of Kieran Harper and Ashton Hams and the lack of form of Steven May and  Lewis Jetta. With Jake Neade also expected to be omitted or a vest candidate. Alan Didak is also injured, but could make an unlikely return this week. Todd Elton, Brad Dick, Brad Hartman and Tim Sumner are not up to AFL Standard.

The unlikely saviour coud be giant irishman Setana O'Hailpin, who starred for the magoos n the weekend, booting 5. He is up against even more feeble opposition this week, and is expected to slot in at F3

Apart from Didak and Maister, Ellard, Embley and Morabito are injured. However Ellard is expected to be avalable for selection.

Lewis Jetta is very lucky as despite poor form, the current lack of options means he scrapes in for another game at F2, While Liam Jones, who has also been less than impressive, is expected to get the gig at F4. Cyril Rioli is perma-locked F1.

No other changes are expected to be made, however Ellard could take Pickens spot at U2.

Depleted Kathmandu reeling after 1-4 start to the season

The Kathmandu Eskimos are reeling at 1-4 after a thrashing at the hands of PNG at home.

THe Eskimos poor form continued with the defence being the most consistent line.

It seems Kathmandu and KL are competing for the biggest injury list after Cyril Rioli and Trent Cotchin went into the rooms on the weekend. Rioli has been ruled out for 6-8 weeks while the club are hopeful that Trent can get up for the weekend.

It adds to the rapidly growing injury list, with Ellard the only one with a chance to play this week.

With Hannebery, Cotchin, Ebert, Jones, Hibberd and Rioli the only people to crack the ton this week it was obvious that the Eskimos were going to struggle. Hannebery was clearly BOG for the Eskimos which is a promising sign. Liam Jones' 4 goals also shows that he is stepping up. But its no where near the group effort the coach wants.

Its become so dire that out of the XV coach KK and then assistant Memphistopheles said would start barring injuries, only 5 are certain starters for the next game verses Australia in Australia.

Coach KK refused to comment, but siad that it was fast becoming last man standing.

Round 6 possible XV:
Michael Hibberd, Martin Clarke, Dale Morris, Lachlan Hendersen
Brad Ebert, Ben Howlett, Dan Hannebery, Tendai Mzungu
Setana O'Hailpin
Lewis Jetta, Liam Jones, Jake Neade, Ashton Hams
Liam Picken, Steven May
