Title: GoLions' RDT Diary 2017
Post by: GoLions on January 26, 2017, 04:37:44 PM
Started off like garbage last year and stormed home to get to like a 2k ranking :P

Hopefully can start off a bit better this season. Would love to hear some thoughts on my team, DT isn't exactly my strong area aha.

Still have 54k left to spend.

Brought in Adams and Laird over Joey and Houli, plus a few rookie changes here and there. Also got Swallow in the mids for a bit more scoring power there. 11.4k to play with still, but pretty happy atm.

Thoughts?

Hunter and Steven are two players which should drop in price at some point, you could save a bit of cash and pick them up later IMO.

No chance I'm dropping Steven, love him in DT. Hunter I want to upgrade, but every player I look at I can find a reason why they could drop much lower in price haha. Zerrett has all the other Bombers players returning, Neale hasn't scored as well with Fyfe in the team (still good though mind you), Dusty could spend a bit more time fwd with Dion and Caddy coming in, any one of the Swans mids could start slow/fast (tempted with Parker but knee issues or something atm), Tmitch at new club, Gibbs NOT at a new club :P

Sloaney and Zorko I'm really considering though

I was big on Hunter last year, I just couldn't find the cash for him. Steven is a DT gun as well, you aren't dropping him. Both rack up the touches which is why they are suited to this comp.

I'm not saying he's not suited to the comp, he's a beast and will finish as a Top 10 midfielder, but if you can only start 5, I'd be inclined to start 5 more consistent mids and pick up Steven when he inevitably drops. That's just me anyways.

The thing with Steven is he is a captain option and slays teams at Etihad. He opens with 8 of 10 games at Etihad which could result in some huge scores. If you haven't started him you're probably going to have to sell the farm to get him.

Premos were good, rookies (up forward at least) were shower :P

Will likely hold my trades this week, and bring in the 2 best options next week. Florent, Pickett, Simpkin, Taranto, Bowes, Parfitt all need to perform! (or at least 4 of them anyway ;))

They did not. Steven flowered as well apparently.

Not sure which way to go here. Rookies will all go up in cash this week so long term I think it might be better if I hold Steven this week (or even downgrade him to a rookie), and look to bring in 2 of Houston, Butler, and WHE. Then next week bring a premo mid back in with the cash remaining. Thoughts?

Murphy or Beams for Steven. That's what I would do in your shoes. Use the left over cash to grab Hoskin-Elliott for one of the rookies you have. Next week dump one of the spud forwards and Hibberd for Hayward (if he performs) and Newman.

Didn't realise how expensive WHE was. I've locked in Simpkin for Houston. I can either go Steven to one of Tmitch/Beams/Murphy, or hold him (and hope he comes back in a week or 2) and trade Taranto/Bowes/Florent/Barrett/Pickett to either WHE or Butler.

All I can think about is how I wasted all of my trades last year and barely finished my team hahahaha

It's a tough one, trades this week are doing my head in. If you kept Steven on the bench, who would you be starting on the field as a rookie?

Barrett. But I also have SPS, SPP, and JOM already on the field in the mids. Have traded Steven to Murphy now so here's hoping he kills the Bombers.

FWIW guys, last year I'm pretty sure Murphy got injured the week I brought him in. So watch out :P

I guess the 250k in the bank is also nice aha. Hibberd to Newman next week, and if I can afford it still, Taranto to Higgins could be an option as an early upgrade.

Last week went Gawn and Hibberd out, Nroo and Newman in.

This week my trades are JOM and Florent out, Lloyd and Williamson in.

Team now looks like this:

54k in the bank. Bowes and Hampton may be the ones to go next week.

Not sure who to trade out this week. Don't really want to trade Pickett as he's made barely any cash, but his BE is basically up there with his average now so even if he does return, will probably stay around the same price.

So maybe Pickett to Fisher, and one of Bowes/SPS to Balic?
Title: Re: GoLions' RDT Diary 2017

Taranto/Bowes maybe to Fisher and Pickett to Balic are the two options I would look at.

Parfitt and Houston to Black/Parsons and Grundy is looking fairly tasty this week if Nank gets a week. If he doesn't, then I could go Hampton to Docherty instead of Houston to Grundy, but I think I'd rather keep Hampton for one more week.

Also, Lachie Hunter has been abysmal since round 3, really hoping he picks up soon :-\

Post by: Mat0369 on May 01, 2017, 01:15:09 AM
I'm not sure what Houston's BE is but it might be better to use Hampton. You could trade Parfitt and Hampton out, move Nank, McGrath and Taranto and then grab Grundy and Parsons.

Gives you forward/mid DPP and you can grab a forward premo for Houston the week after potentially.

I'd assume with Hampton's 119 last week that his BE will be lower. I'll likely trade the one I keep, next week. SPP, McGrath, Taranto, SPS, Marchbank should all have another 2 weeks or so. The rest are still relatively early on in their cash generation. Barrett and Eddy I'm hoping get a few more games very soon.
Title: Re: GoLions' RDT Diary 2017
Post by: Mat0369 on May 01, 2017, 01:26:17 AM
I think once we know the BE's it will make it easier to figure out. I think Hampton should score pretty well vs Norf considering Gaz just put up a double ton. Port have WC at AO and Houston should be better in that game with the ball more down in defense. If they both score 70 see if you can find the projections of who will make the more cash at the end of the round and dump the other one.

Yeah, sounds good. I'd probably back Houston to outscore Hampton by 10ish, so if his BE gets within that then may offload Hampton instead.

B/E may change thinking Houston 63, Marchbank 42, Hampton 13 and Otten -2.

So probably need to stick to first Plan Houston and Parfitt to Grundy and Black/Parsons.
Title: Re: GoLions' RDT Diary 2017
Post by: GoLions on May 08, 2017, 03:47:33 PM
Ended up going Houston to Parsons, and Parfitt to Grundy via Nank. Obviously Black looks to have been the better choice atm, but confident Parsons won't get dropped after 1 bad game considering he was brought straight back in following his suspension.

Scored 2096, which wasn't the worst I guess. Nroo was disappointing, as was Treloar and Grundy. For the rookies, obviously Parsons, and also Hampton and Balic.

SPS and Marchbank both awesome yet again, enjoying the cash that those 2 are making. Taranto and SPP probably have another week left (maybe 2 for Taranto). Barrett also making some nice cash. Williamson has at least another week left. I'm not sure who I want to trade this week tbh.

In terms of potential downgrade options, I guess there is McNiece and Mutimer, although not sure on Mutimer's JS. I could also grab Berry, even after 2 cash rises, as he's still a bit under 200k and seems to be finding his feet now. Won't go a week early on Myers. Not sure if I've missed anyone else?

For upgrades, I'd like to get Zerrett in, but can't afford him this week. So, I could do just the one downgrade this week, for example Hampton to Berry or McNiece (if named), or even Mutimer by shifting one of Adams or McGrath into defence. This would give me over 250k to play with (almost 350k if I grab McNiece). Then next week I can go SPP to Myers and maybe Williamson to Zerrett. Alternatively, I could grab someone like Yeo up forward this week, and wait a while longer on Zerrett. This would allow me to bench Balic fwiw.

Here's my team after round 7, with 110k in the kitty:

Appreciate any thoughts you guys and gals may have :)
Title: Re: GoLions' RDT Diary 2017
Post by: Adamant on May 08, 2017, 09:28:30 PM
Would you consider someone like Heeney over Yeo? He's over 100k cheaper and I can see them averaging similar from here on out. I still feel that Yeo is a trap and his numbers aren't maintainable. However I don't rate him as a player so might be a bit biased there. :P

Provided McNiece is named, I think you might have just enough to go Hampton & SPP > McNiece & Heeney this week, and McGrath & Willo > Myers & Zerrett next week if you want two upgrades over the next two weeks (including Zerrett).
Title: Re: GoLions' RDT Diary 2017
Post by: Mat0369 on May 08, 2017, 10:53:43 PM
I think if he was to grab Heeney his byes would be cooked. Dahl, NRoo, Macrae and Heeney are all round 11. If Newman doesn't get a gig you might have to look at culling him. If you were to go Newman>McNiece that would give you 268k in the bank. That would allow you to go Hampton>Yeo comfortably.
Title: Re: GoLions' RDT Diary 2017
Post by: GoLions on May 09, 2017, 12:43:40 AM
Yeah i looked at Buddy and Heeney, but as Mat said, would be totally flowered in the byes haha.

I guess the main question is, should i grab Yeo now and potentially wait longer on Zerrett, or lock in Zerrett for next week and just do a downgrade this week.

Decisions decisions :P

Tbh might come down to teams on Thursday/Friday.

Forward line not too bad. So I would wait. I am actually looking at getting in Wingard in Rd 10 and hoping he does not big this week to keep price below $500k. With Grays injury can see him spending more mid time like his last three weeks.

Yeah Wingard looks good, but I'd be worried that if Gray takes the week off after the bye and is fit after that, could see Wingard's scores drop...or he could continue to kill it haha

Scored 2070 this week, wish I had Newman over Williamson! Hahaha

Also decided to hold off on Yeo, so that I could get Zerrett this week.

Will have a better idea of what trades to do once I hear what the dealio is with Rocky. Have a feeling I'll be holding him though. Williamson and SPS to Myers and Zerrett is probably the way to go though. Assuming that Treloar is back, if he isn't, then I guess I might trade SPP or McGrath instead of SPS. We'll see.

If Rocky is out for a while then he goes to Zerrett.

flowerin Pittard.

Tank this week? :P

Went Fisher to Cousins. 180k remaining. Not sure if Scooter is worth it at his higher price in DT? That extra 50k spent on him is 50k he isn't going to make me. The only guys I can really trade to avoid donuts are Barrett, Berry, Newman, and Hunter.

Bolton is tempting and has a good bye, but his scoring has been crap. Is he still worth getting though with M/F DPP and the fact we won't need rookies as much after the byes?

Not sure if I want to go early on Scharenberg due to his injury history, price and his bye round. Tempting though, scored well last week.

Perryman was garbage last week, don't think he is worth getting just yet.

Ryan and Brown need to see if they get named, but both obviously not good byes. Bloody R13 aha.

Brodie I was all over before the season started, bit pricey and didn't score great, but will play through every week, so looking at him a week early too.

In terms of upgrade targets, Docherty is the main one in defence. Bye this week though, so no defence upgrades today.

Tmitch I need in the mids but didn't know what other downgrade I wanted to do last night, so that will have to wait until after his bye most likely. In a bit of trouble in the mids for R13, so either Dusty/Duncan/Jelwood/Scooter this week, or wait a week and get a R11 player such as ZZZZZZZZORKOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Yeo is probably the main guy up forward. Maybe Higgins as well.

Idfk what to do haha.

I'm just looking at your side and trying to figure out how many upgrades you need etc. with your best team on the park.

Newman will be the only rookie in defense which is fine since he is scoring well. Myers and McGrath are the two in the midfield. Taranto and Greenwood are the two in the forward line. So that's a total of 5 upgrades left. How many trades do you have left?

In terms of trades I'd look at this with your two remaining. Hunter>Selwood and maybe Berry to Schaz. That gives you enough cash to grab one of Mitchell/Doc next week straight out for McGrath.

Haven't updated in a few weeks, here is my team atm:

Only 7 trades left :'(

Have 201k in the bank doe. Need an F6, M8, and ideally Docherty in defence.

Thinking Stewart to Witherden this week as my downgrade. Will leave me with 405k or so in the bank.

SPP I want to hold another week, and Greenwood is going ok at F6 for now. So I could go Newman to Docherty this week? Will leave me with 5 trades and like 160k remaining. I do want TMitch though, so would I be better off going SPP to TMitch instead?

Liked the look of Deluca yesterday so he would be my planned downgrade for next week. Parsons to Deluca would make me another 150k...which would mean I might miss out on Docherty by about 10k next week :P

Basically if I go for Dochertyand TMitch, I finish my team with 1 trade remaining I reckon. If I keep Newman and go for a cheaper M8 such as Zorko/Jelly in a few, or Sloaney, then I should have like 4 remaining.

Yeo is my planned F6 upgrade FWIW, so he is probably set to drop a bit more in the next week or 2 as well providing he doesn't deliver a huge game this week.
