Seaby has been injured so Mummy has had the ruck all to himself. That's why his score has been inflated.
DEF: Broughton, Grimes, Symes, Otten, Harris, Gibbs (if in defence
MID: Simpson, Anthony Boyd, Joey, A.Swallow, D.Swallow,
RUC: Sandi, Kreuzer
FWD: Gray, Higgins
chisuuz your forward lines gonna be pretty weak to accomodate such a gun midfield
stephen hill might have a bigger breakout season next year, but may be a better SC player

Watchlisted for me. Such a game breaker with his pace. Hopefully he doesn't get noticed by others ;).
i think manny of the top 1000 teams this year probably had 4 pemium midfielders this year and 2 rookies
i might do the same and go for cash cows in the backline
backs 2011 on feild= goddard premium premium harris otten rookie rookie
good idea?

yea i agree and also there are always injury returners to look at like Adcock ;D
yeah im thinking the same rocca :)
but will adcock have an injury free 2011?
and at what age is too old for a player?
and what age/year generally do youngsters break out?

next year is too old for the likes of former stars like Paul Chapman, Brent Harvey etc.. and 3rd and 4th year players are the ones that have breakout years.
thanks
so 29 is ok?
cos i have a unique in mind that could be a gem
Depends on how you see him doing next year?
I usually have 30 as the cut off age for me. Will be making an exception for the likes of Green and Boyd (and maybe others) next few years if they keep performing 8).
rocca is spot on. It's usually 3rd year players that many look at for breakout potential. But there is also 4th year players who finally get a chance to shine that go under many's radar.
he is a gun but injured for a while this season and its not liam anthony
Petrie ::). Is on everybody's radar!!!
haha okay not that secret mate :P
its not petrie although he is a lock
To The Injury List!!! :P.
Everybody is gonna try and keep a well hidden gem during the off season.
Mine was suppose to be Boyd, Nason and Gray ::). Guess how that turned out? >:(. I was on Boyd for years. I had Nason pencilled in pre draft and Gray after 2009 season ended. I prefered him staying at half forward rather than a midfield role.
i have one thats all i am saying :) (we could however do a trade...)

so 29 is ok?
you said he has a past full of injury and at 29 and a midfielder, history would show us that he would be finished. You will have to wait for preseason to decide that one...
he was just injured this year and he is pretty tough and durable :)
yes jamster take a pop on him ;)
heheh i might go a midfield of
swan boyd? mystery player ;) anthony dswallow rookie
good idea?
Looks alright for now. Prices will be when we can really tinker.
My midfield right now looks like: Boyd, Swallow, Ebert (maybe), Swallow, Hallahan, Heppell (maybe).
thoughts on boak? starting to fins some great form.
mitch morton looks good as well
LE i think i know who your secret player is, he is very consistent isnt he but is probably towards the end of his career and it might be a risk taking him
what about Grant 3rd year but only played 1 game in 09 so not sure
AND
Kreuzer 4th year i think might start off slow but should explode

I like Grant. Has a strong mark but needs to put on some weight/muscle over the off season. I'm looking at him if priced right 8). Kreuzer would be good if he keeps playing ruck. If Ratten decides to throw him forward, could really go either way.

Mitch is an interesting one. Has really done well last few weeks with his move to the midfield. Kinda like Jetta from the bombers. Not very prolific scorers up forward but in the midfield could be smokies :D. See pre season if he will continue there. They both should on recent form.

There is always talk on Boak leaving Port. Has been past few years but nothing has come of it. Has had potential to break out for a while but this year has been copping a little tag. Burgoyne was the only one stopping him from getting a tag. Hasn't copped too well with it but at the same time not that bad (at times). If Port recruit some more midfielders or some of their injured ones come back in for support, seems like a bargain!!
J.Riewoldt should have a tasty price tag of just under 300k also, also howmany starting rucks next year
How about marc murphy? will he be cheap?

The starting structure is the same as this year. Just more benchies. Check 2011 fantasy rules board.

He's good but not sure how cheap. Has averaged about 100 this year.
Carlton has got some good DTers that fly under the radar ;)
so should nick probaly wont get a discount but with that 20 and stugglin the first few weeks after he come bak from injury so his averge is below his best
also Selwood vs Bartel?? im thinking Slewood
selwood
Bartel is a jet but Selwood is rising fast 8).
If Ablett goes, reckon Selwood would be next in line along with Chappy ;).
there is a lot of value in Port Adelaide players right now... read my 2011 Dt Port Adelaide preview here http://2011dreamteamblog.wordpress.com/2010/09/02/dreamteam-prospects-of-2011-port-adelaide/
havent had a look yet, but i think Armitage will be recieving some discount again this year
Dont rely see armitage playin much nxt yr
How come no mention of GAJ?
Will be cheaper then he has been in previous years..
If he stays at geelong he'll be in my starting team
yeah mate thats a very big IF there. he will be in mine IF he stays :)
if ablett stays i might go him over selwood
Swan, Boyd, Ablett, Anthony, D.Swallow, Barnell is a pretty gun midfield i will have to make the rest of my areas cheaper. Lots of good returning players down back like last year, 1 cheap gun ruck and i had a couple of cheap forwards in line (pity about fev). I think the rookies will be even beter this year especially with GC
scott selwood as a roughie
I think the only reson i would get Ablett would be if he was an mpp
i would only get ablett if....
ok, i wouldn't get ablett
would be a good asset if available in the fwd line though, maybe even have him in the mid to use mpp with your other fwd/mids

yep, he has been doing better forward than mid recently
can you imagine having a forward line with Ablett, Chapman, Franklin, Riwoldt, Franklin, Brown, Pavlich at the end of the year
2 franklins :o
MPP for GAj?
Quote from: benjy251090 on September 10, 2010, 07:24:08 PM

Lol benjy! ;D
GC have payed out plenty of Franklins to get GAJ ;) Hope he is MPP and he may just squeeze in rnd8 or so.
Ablett as a forward mpp would be nice, spesh with that GC midfield building up, getting delivery from Riski, Brennan, Swallow, Bennell, Harbrow etc.
and u know Ablett wuld chop in the guts
Here's a thought - Ablett's scores may explode!
Agreed he will find it harder physically but that young side will give the ball to him and he will less trusting of them to give the quick handball back (something that choked his scoring last year as he handballed so much to trusted team mates as part of deliberate structure).
Once he has it he will be more inclined to kick this year as he tries to gain yardage to relieve pressure on the young side.
A possesion magnet may just become a Montagna kick first type - imagine that as part of GAJ's new game :o
For DT that might work
Yeah can't see it working in SC.
Plenty of those kicks will be ineffective as he struggles to get clean disposal whilst fighting for the ball unprotected.
for me gaj MPP is a lock :)
Aiming for the top 1000 so will build my team carefully....
DEF: Goddard, Otten, Broughton (3rd year rule), Mzungu, Gibbs
MID: Swan, D. Swallow, Boyd, Mitch Wallis, Anthony(3rd year rule), Bennell
RUC: Sandi, Petrie
FWD. N. Riewoldt, Franklin, B. Matera (1st bench ), GAJ (if he's MPP)
are they just your locks big v or your whole team?

missing a few if it is there LE
just one thing im wondering about wallis and liberatore, theyre small mids/fwds which the doggies have heaps of, ud think brodie moles, etc. would be the straight in for johnson and eagleton. gia, higgins, boyd and cross are the lock-in mids for the doggies for sure. just hope their names help the young fellas out, and the fact that they got a bit of talent, ie wallis
yeah i thought he was a few short :)
