I was reading a couple of the headline articles on the AFL site and thought I would start the thread.
Buddy to return! This could really help Heeney and his scoring for those wanting to take the punt.
Zac Williams and Jack Martin are expected to return for the Blues. Silvagni, Marchbank and McGovern are all in line for Round 3 which will be interesting from a team balance perspective. SOS managed to avoid surgery on his shoulder. Eddie Betts was declared fit last week and will also be in contention. It's going to put pressure on Dow for his spot but I still think he is safe for at least this week.
Sidebottom expected to return for the Pies. Rozee could be on the cards for Port as well which is earlier than expected.
King and Zak Jones to return for the Saints. Could one of Hunter/McKernan get dropped ahead of the game?
Danger will have his case heard tomorrow night. Duncan and Cameron are going to likely be unavailable for this round.
Hamling to miss 4 weeks, Pearce to miss 12 and Liam Henry has a calf issue. Heath Chapman expected to debut
8) hope your right

Bonner (hamstring) probs helps Bergmans chances of holding his spot even if Hartlett & Rozee both come in. What was maybe Bergman & Farrell out is now more likely Bonner & Farrell out.

Yep, stroke of luck & also Jones injured helps his cause.
Harmes (Melb) has had surgery on a fractured wrist & is expected to miss up to 6 weeks.

The Pies list looks very thin Mayne and Kelly are about their best backups left no one worth noting on the injury list only Kelly think they offloaded 12 or 13 players from last year if they pick up some injuries it could be a tough year ahead.

Think the Pies will be in the cellar this year, losing Treloar & Stephenson makes their midfield one of the worst in the AFL. It speaks volumes that Pendles & Sidebottom are the only guys who appear to be A grade & they are clearly behind their best.

Adams is close to A grade he was very good last year and they have some good defenders Moore will close to A grade soon but the cupboard is bare don't think they will be in the cellar although injuries to key players especially mids could see them struggle to make the eight.

Moore is a gun but their forward set up is pretty one dimensional, De Goey an overrated flanker who continually blazes away for personal glory. Very little chance he steps up in the midfield. Adams would be a solid 4th or 5th midfielder at a top ranked club. Compare that to a Richmond where you have insane depth - Martin, Cotchin, Prestia, Edwards, Bolton, Graham & Lambert. Collingwood's bottom 2-3 mids would struggle to get games anywhere else.

Pies backline is elite. defensively we are as good as it gets.
Midfield is an issue - given pendles and degoey should be fwd with stints through the middle.
fwd line is an issue - but not terrible if you inject the above two.
Game plan is redundant. Can't kick a winning score, can't win a flag. If we don't add offence to the defense we don't win enough to bother the best.
Might come down to coach and game pan hence all the talk on bucks.
Sorting out the draft and salary cap won't do any harm either. Not a contender, not a rebuild, no mans land.... sigh.
Still I'll pay my money to watch Moore and Howe every week regardless the result. GO PIES

Honestly? I reckon there needs to be a club review similar to when Hardwick was under the gun. This should be done externally & without prejudice. There is a culture problem, clearly, and I'm not referring to the racism or Eddie who seemed to be a scapegoat. I'm more referring to talented players expressing there desire to stay & then being punted out the door. Contract mismanagement aside, I think the recruiting of Hine has fallen off the proverbial cliff. This needs to be addressed as I think speculative types like Sier were the opposite of what was required. Going back to the Richmond example, Francis Jackson lost his job as a result of the review & Matthew Clarke has since injected some serious talent in the form of Balta, Bolton & Graham, all picked up with latish picks. Turning things around not impossible but you have to be honest about the root causes.
Yeah they've lost their way. And externally it is hard to know who or how but changes must come. and will. have to.
Jed Anderson and Hall available for Norf.
I think Tyson is gone (if anyone picked him ;D), hopefully Powell holds his spot though.
Ely Smith & Rhys Mathieson not on plane, Berry into the initial squad. Will be interesting to see if Sharp remains.

Suspect Berry will replace Robbo. Sharp imo did enough to retain spot.

Hope so Ringo, his DPP is super handy for loopholing, although I have made plans just in case.
Is Robbo injured? They very well could go unchanged with Berry the sub

No injury - But he was poor and not the only one though.
ADELAIDE coach Matthew Nicks is challenging his players to prove their first-up win isn't a fluke as he bloods another debutant.
Defender Nick Murray, the broker of ex-Pie Sam, will make his AFL debut against Sydney on Saturday after being promoted to the Crows' list just three weeks ago in the pre-season supplemental selection period.
The 20-year-old will replace Jake Kelly, who was concussed in last week's victory against Geelong

They're omitting the subs on the AFL site which is interesting. I guess they technically played even if they don't see the field so I get the extra omission.
No interesting moves for tomorrow's games.

Yeah I don't see a rookie dropped amongst the commonly chosen.
Jarrod Berry late withdrawal, Jaxon Prior in for first game
The headline had Brisbane star and I thought Neale for a minute. Instead it's 'star' Berry
