Richmond has now recorded profits for eight consecutive years.

Announcing the result today for the final year ending October 31, 2012, Tigers president Gary March said the club boasted record membership revenue of $5.3 million from its more than 53,000 members, and record sponsorship income of $3.5 million.

March said Richmond had cut its debt by more than $1.5 million in the past 12 months.

The debt has been slashed by $2.5 million in the past two years and now stands at $1.9 million.

so are you guys ready to succeed on field yet?

Surely as a Fremantle supporter you can't poke at other clubs about on field success?

quinny88

Great news but Ive always said that as soon as the on field success comes the rest will take care of itself.
There are a mountain of Richmond supporters out there that will sign on when we look like playing finals again. Not to mention the merchandise that would be sold etc.
Dont worry about 3 million profit, they will be making 10 million profit if they can make it to September at long last.

at least we made the finals last year and they haven't been there since 2001 Fremantle have made 4 finals appearances to 1 since 2000 so yeah i can say in recent history that Richmond have only made 4 finals appearances since the 80's........... at least it hasn't taken us 30 years to to make our last 4 finals appearances.

Richmond are in a very strong position really, a bit like Collingwood of the late 90s - all they need to do is start winning and they'll be a juggernaught - and then we will remember why we hate them so much!

Just need to start winning and like Quinny said, we will have 75k members plus

Nige

Rack up the wins and we'll rack up the members.

Over the period the Docker's have existed, they both have 0.

St.Kilda, Western Bulldogs and Melbourne were also other clubs who didn't win Premierships in that time  :o

Richmond looking to explode soon in the next 3 years Imo.

Just get rid of a couple more of the dead weights they drafted in and get another reasonable forward and they're top 2 material.

Freo, not so much

I dont mean to hijack a Richmond thread (but I will)....

Freo not ready to explode.  We only made the finals and beat the reigning premier and lost to cheaters.... I mean Adelaide by 10 points.

2011
Tigers - 8 Wins, 13 Losses, 1 Draw (12th)
Dockers - 9 Wins,  13 Losses (11th)

2012
Tigers - 10 Wins, 11 Losses, 1 Draw (12th)
Dockers - 14 Wins,  8 Losses (7th)

Mailman the 2nd

Well you could say the same for Geelong with that sort of argument

They had more wins than Richmond and Fremantle in 2011 and 2012. And they beat the 2012 premiers.

So are Geelong going to explode? Hardly any would tip it.

It has a lot more to do with the talent pool and in club affairs than the amount of wins they got in the last 2 years.

Fremantle has a couple of issues with players retiring/getting into retirement age. Richmond doesn't.
